Is Running as well with Loopy Pro 🙏🍎 ### 5/5 — Small music tracker; infinite possibilities *2024-09-06, version 2.1.1c* 12 years ago, I really found this tracker by accident just a casual search on the App Store, and I downloaded the window version on the website because I wanted have a free music making tool for learning some trance music when I couldn’t afford all the vst luxury as a kid. I struggled initially because it has two of the most complex concepts in music, tracker and modular synth, but at the same time, I was inspired by some really cool users at the time, with their impressive music and their cool modules (especially the first ever vocoder), so I stayed and tried to learn the software to see if I could make something cool out of it. In all the years, not only I have gained a lot of knowledge in music production with SunVox, but also in computer science and architecture because the modular system is so deep, so versatile that you can build a fully functional computer and visualise neural network models, by using the built-in modules. Consistency and reliability of SunVox is top notch. I rarely get any crash even I have such an intense use. Marvelous things…stirrings… It’s quite beautiful. As another reviewer put it, The Swiss knives of Knives, if knives were Music applications. I rediscovered SunVox, again. And this time I think I’m mature enough to actually ‘use it’ now. Not only is the audio silent in the sampler, also in other synths. Now I can’t make any music. Screw this. ### 1/5 — Crashing (Can’t even use the app as intended) *2026-02-22, version 2.1.4d* This app looks amazing however despite my device meeting the requirements and having tons of free space, I constantly crashes around three. I played around with it until I felt confident enough to compose a song, spent 3 hours creating something good, tweaking it and saving as I went along. Next time I opened the app I loaded my song and it was completely empty, 3 hours work vanished! What happened? The file is still there where I saved it, where is my work?? I deleted and reinstalled the app and it did not fix it. ### 2/5 — Selten so ein schlechtes UI gesehen *2023-06-06* Wenn man eine App aufs iPhone bringt, sollte man sie auch für die Bildschirmgröße anpassen. Auf dem PC oder einem iPad Pro mag das noch gut aussehen aber auf meinem iPhone 14 ist es sehr schwer zu erkennen was hier wo hin gehört. Teile des Screens sind sinnlos klein und nicht verwendbar. Tracker sind so schon nicht intuitiv aber das hier schießt den Vogel ab. ### 2/5 — Too arcane for me ... *2020-11-26, version 1.9.6b* & Nov 2020 update looks interesting but I’ve no clue as to what any of it means..(I’ve had this app for years, too..) Demos sound good, I suppose...(when I can figure out how to load them. The ui is perplex..) Some say it’s “retro” as if that’s a good thing. No, it isn’t..research indicates this was a desktop port from time ago, fine, but touching any of the screen elements either leave me stumped or feeling like i broke something.. Apparently an external keyboard is required because the “on-screen input is fiddly”. Fail! A half decent app allows me to stick to the iPad only if I want/need to. Others say “go find yutuub tutorials”, no, I should be able to at least figure something out for myself. I found blip interactive apps good in this regard.. (Nanostudio 1 & 2, which is well regarded by experts for having both accessibility AND depth (no mean feat) which I’ve found to be true).. Or else it’s “well, this apps got steep learning curve but stick with it for rewards!”, no, I have no time for numerous learning curves, how many more learning curves are required, really..can’t I just get on with making music, for once?.. Wait, what’s this. Auv3 as an effect in other daws, just added, interesting, let’s try ... and ... nope. No sound, no effects, no nothing. A fantastic little tool! *2026-01-27, version 2.1.4d* As someone who has previously used Sunvox on desktop, I was incredibly presently surprised when trying the IOS version on both my Ipad Mini & Iphone SE. Unbelievably powerful for its size and form-factor, hats off to the creator! (1 singular note - add AuV3 support!! Sunvox can be used as an AuV3 through things like Garageband or Cubase, but can’t actually import them into its own software. This can be extremely limiting, but also there’s a few work arounds, especially in the sample editor). ### 5/5 — Quiet simple when it comes down to it. As such, you may need to play around with the interface by shuffle things around to fit on one screen, once you do it can be super streamlined. In comparison to Drambo, you can create modules here as well, but here you see how the waveform changes as it passes through each module.
