### 4/5 — Feedbacks and suggestions

*2022-06-28, version 2.02*

1. Please add horizontal mode for iPhone. 2. Please include a weapon gallery. 3. The sounds effects can not be turned off, please fix. 4. Why can't the game be paused? 5. Could you please improve the resolution?
6. Why can't I access Game Center in the homepage?

### 4/5 — 2 thumbs up

*2018-05-19, version 2.02*

What a fun game! Old school minimalist graphics. Always loved tempest and this has a feel like that. You will get more scores of 0 then you will care to see, but keep coming back for more. Glad I found this one.

### 4/5 — Excellent gameplay, but...

*2017-06-27, version 2.02*

The controls are tricky to master, but I think that's just part of the challenge. However, without any incentive to continue playing after all the weapons are unlocked (besides trying to beat your high score, of course) the adrenaline is short-lived.

### 4/5 — Almost Perfect...needs a few more options

*2016-09-02, version 2.02*

I love this game. I love that after I die, I don't have to wait a long time to restart. Endless hours of fun, BUT....even though I can turn down/off the music, I can't turn off the sound effects. I want that option. I like to listen to audiobooks while playing games. This game would be my go-to game for that, but I can't turn off all sound. Please fix.

### 3/5 — Fun for a bit...

*2016-08-10, version 2.02*

The game is fun to try out for an hour or so. Afterwards, you start to realize how awkward and frustrating the controls are. Until they add a better control scheme, I won't be playing this game.

### 4/5 — Challenge

*2016-08-07, version 2.02*

Arclight is a great game and definitely a challenge but would be much better with more than one life. The constant having to start over gets annoying after while.

### 3/5 — Please add more features

*2016-08-04, version 2.02*

This game is fun but it's too minimalistic in my opinion. There is no progression and although the shooting style is unique, it gets old and frustrating. What I would really like to see is a mode where you can control which direction you go and remain still while you are shooting. I really like the style of this game but the control scheme and the fact that the whole game resets, minus the guns you've earned, every time you die makes me not want to play it all that much. I feel like there is a lot of untapped potential with this game.

### 3/5 — Love the idea. Hate the forced controls

*2016-07-28, version 2.02*

Fun game but don't enjoy the control interface. It's bare bones, old school tap to change directions. Fine if you like that, but I'd like the option to drag and stop to shoot. Many games offer different control options and I'd request that, here.

### 4/5 — Lots of fun so far

*2016-07-28, version 2.02*

Really enjoying this game. Some reviews believe it's too hard. In my opinion, it's just 'different'. It's definitely fun and challenging. Having trouble putting it down.

### 4/5 — Fun short game

*2016-07-26, version 2.02*

Great game for something that doesn't have much gameplay time. The game mechanics are kind of interesting. As you progress, though, the weapon upgrades aren't that interesting. I'd like to see gameplay get more interesting the further you get.

### 4/5 — Great Concept

*2016-07-26, version 2.02*

Except the difficulty choice and then either way it's too hard to be fun more than a few minutes.

### 3/5 — Crashes.

*2016-07-24, version 2.02*

This would be a four-star review if this app didn't crash so much. It's worth a free download, but I wouldn't pay more than 99 cents to play. this game is very addicting but could be made better with the addition of new features and special types of ships, as well as a more elegant menu UI. I would've been disappointed if I'd bought this with money because if I'd bought it and had this much crashing, I'd have been very angry. I'm tired of typing this essay of a review, so see ya later.

### 3/5 — STUPID BUGS!

*2016-07-24, version 2.02*

I'm sure this is a great game, but I can't get a chance to play it! Everytime I start the game it loads normally, when I get to the menu and touch anything at all on the screen, the game just crashes! 😓 I really hope someone can fix this, I would really like to play the game.

### 5/5 — Must own for anyone! Casual or not!

*2016-07-23, version 2.02*

There's a lot of games on the App Store and a lot of it can be pretty bad. This game is addicting and tight. Great visuals. Easy to learn difficult to master. PLENTY of variety on weapons and unlocking them. No pay to unlock, no time issues. An amazing arcade homage!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — NOT family friendly

*2016-12-01, version 2.02*

Apps that are NOT family friendly should be clearly marked. I always buy games on my account and then put it on the kids phone through family share. Does NOT work with family share, waste of money.

### 1/5 — At least it's free

*2016-07-22, version 2.02*

Confusing, gameplay if it can even be call that is awful, only worth it if it's free (which thankfully for me it was) and you're painfully bored. Like many other "games" for mobile devices, it is much better to get yourself a game console or PC and some actual games

### 1/5 — Can't get the game to open on iPad.

*2016-07-21, version 2.02*

Running iOS 9.3.2 on iPad Air and cannot even get the game to open. I've deleted and reinstalled it 3 times and it won't get past "Loading" screen. I'm disappointed. Really wanted to give this game a shot. I'll update to iOS 9.3.3 and give it another try, but 1 star until I'm able to play it.

### 2/5 — Help

*2022-07-08, version 2.02*

I have had this game on my phone for a few years now. Worked perfectly, my favorite game. I upgraded my phone and now this game freezes. I have deleted it and reinstalled, it works great until all the weapons start to unlock. What’s the solution?

### 2/5 — Had it for a day

*2016-07-27, version 2.02*

Had the app for a day. I WANTED to like it. I gave it a chance and came back to it a couple different times, but only to quit after 5 minutes again anyway... The "change direction after you fire" thing is just too quirky to actually make this game enjoyable. The devs really missed the mark with that idea... Ah, well. To each their own, I suppose.

### 2/5 — Good, not great

*2016-07-23, version 2.02*

Hard to play. Frustrating. Addictive. I want to get better at it but the frustration outweighs the replay value. I'd enjoy this better if there were option to control the rotation instead of back and forth for every touch. The frustration is in the movement - which is predicable and consistent but the opponents are not. It is a nicely built game, but makes me want to delete it.

### 2/5 — Too difficult for me

*2016-07-23, version 2.02*

It's a good game, but it's just way too hard for me. I can't wrap my head around the whole shooting but ALSO changing direction thing. If this game didn't have one-touch controls, I'd have a much easier time. I end up simply not being able to hit anything, because I'm going the wrong direction, but I can't press the button fast enough to change direction fast enough while ALSO shooting again so I end up having this stupid blind spot directly around where I have a red triangle dropping right at me. Overall, if you're good at using bad one-touch controls, you'll enjoy this game. I'm not. I'm going back to my mouse and keyboard.

### 2/5 — Less is NOT more; hard & repetitive

*2016-07-23, version 2.02*

Sure the cool, minimalist graphics are nice but that's where the fun ends. It's one of those really hard games that makes you do the same thing over and over expecting you to want to beat your high score. Well, it's more frustrating than anything else. You just try to shoot the bad shape things to stop them from entering the inside of the ring--but the tricky part here is the way you move in the game; mindlessly spinning around until you hold your finger into position. I tried it for a few minutes then deleted.

### 3/5 — Needs Support!

*2020-01-01, version 2.02*

I LOVE this game! It’s been one of my favorites for awhile, given that it’s simple to understand and super addictive. Only problem is now I’ve upgraded my iPhone 6S to an iPhone 11, the game has become incredibly laggy. Please devs fix this!!

### 3/5 — Great but

*2017-08-17, version 2.02*

I love this but I only want one more thing. Can you guys at Chanel 4 team up with Orbotix? I think this game would be much better if people could also use their Orbotix Sphero 2.0 to play the game. The I would give you guy a 5 star rating

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Super Arc Light is Awesome

*2020-10-30, version 2.02*

This game blends retro music with fast simple but challenging game play. Hands down my favorite game on the phone. They have done an EXCELLENT job paying homage to classic games but keeping a modern feel to it!

### 5/5 — WORTH IT!

*2018-07-29, version 2.02*

I think for most of us it starts off a little confusing and slightly frustrating getting a hang of things. But as as soon as you get a hang of things the game gets very addictive. I enjoy how engaging and simple the game is. If your looking for an arcade game to fall in love with then you dont need to look further.

I have 2 suggestions for the Devs. The mechanics are simple and therefor near perfect, but- I would revisit the "side shot" and consider buffing it, if not get rid of it as a powerup. Secondly Ive noticed the horizontal hit box on the " X fighter enemy" needs a very small adjustment.

### 5/5 — Fantastic Game!

*2017-07-05, version 2.02*

I got this game quite a while ago when it was the free app of the week, but I definitely would have paid money for it if I had to. It's very challenging, but not frustrating at all. In fact, it's almost relaxing. The soundtrack is amazing, and it's very hard to stop playing. If you're on the fence about buying Super Arc Light, just go for it- it's worth your money and your time.

### 5/5 — This game is fun!

*2017-03-27, version 2.02*

When your in a trip with no internet it's fun to whip out your phone and play this game, i recommend buying if you have a lot of trips and have nothing too do!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2017-03-16, version 2.02*

This game is probably the best shooter I've played for a mobile phone, it's fun, it's creative and you got different shooting powers u get every so often and it's great. 5 stars on the spot

### 5/5 — Simple & Fun

*2016-12-08, version 2.02*

This a great example of what twitch gaming ought to be. No currency system, poorly contrived plot, social media integration, or other unnecessary garbage. Just straightforward entertainment. Yes it's hard at first, but once you've got the controls it's a fun time-waster.

### 5/5 — Wonderful!

*2016-08-25, version 2.02*

This game is rewarding to play. Most games go between 3-5 minutes and are action packed. The game never goes easy on you but it's a fair amount of challenge. You do find yourself improving as your score goes up. This game is just satisfying and well done.

### 5/5 — Great Game

*2016-08-05, version 2.02*

Really good game, loved the graphics, nothing too developed but right on the spot, and loved the design of the game, really simple but also really innovative, so i guess you could say less is more, and would totally apply with this game, it's a new way to play space shooters, at least thats how i define this game, really addictive and pretty easy to get involved with, nothing too hard, my friends and my little cousins are enjoying right now this game too, this game has a very friendly interface at the beginning and totally love the fact that the more you progress in the game, the more weapons you have making this game more entertaining and addictive, it also has the fact that you have the leaderboards so if you get really excited about this game you can compete against players worldwide or even better, with yourself, its an amazing game, worth every cent, would buy it again if i had too, you are paying the exact amount for a game that will get you out of your boredom.

### 5/5 — What are you waiting for? GET IT.

*2016-07-26, version 2.02*

Super Arc Light is an extremely addicting game! My dirty dishes are screaming as I sit here and try to beat my high score. I didn't play it much when I first downloaded it, but now that I understand it fully, it is hard to put down. Perfect, simple game to play to kill time (not perfect for when you have important things to do!) then again, beating a high score is pretty important...

### 5/5 — A really fun original game.

*2016-07-25, version 2.02*

I really like it and I don't think I will be play more than a month but it is really cool and original and I think the developers of this game could make more game modes with this product.
