i got this game specifically to play while listening to audiobooks. i couldn’t find any mute button, and ios doesn’t natively support muting specific apps. so if i wanted to listen to something on the same device i’m playing it on, i would have to tolerate the overlap with the music.

other than that game is 5/5

I saw your article on your Bokstuff (linked from HN) and downloaded the game because your description intrigued me. Appealing to players that want to "reach a zen zone and win" sounds like a great idea. I tried out the game for a bit and I like it, but I wish I could control the music. You made some decent choices in tunes, but why can't I play my own? (And don't blame PhoneGap ;-) I can appreciate not having any options for the user, but the cutting off my playlist and introducing your own techno-beats feels really intrusive. In keeping with the "zen zone" thing, there's also an argument to be made for having to cope with the challenges thrown at you, but I would question then what you're actually trying to accomplish with this game.
Overall, I think it's cool. I'll definitely keep trying to beat it and I'll be looking forward to v2.
As for performance, I'm on a 7, and you know that's butter so no complaints there. Thanks for taking the time to optimize your code. Keep up the good work!

This game drives me crazy, but I can't stop playing. It's well made, challenging, and not too time consuming until you get stuck in the endless "I'll just try one more time" loop.

Very challenging but enjoyable game play.  Perfect both for those times you need something to do for a few minutes while waiting or for an hour long session of determination.

I've been using this since I downloaded it in the gaps between meetings or while waiting for folks. It's super engaging. Great for getting in quick bursts of gaming in. 

It's got a Dark Souls feel when it comes to difficulty: very challenging, but whenever I lose I want to dive right back in.

I played an older "version" of this concept made by the same developer and this is a big improvement. The controls work and add to this very challenging game. Good luck not exploding!
