### 2/5 — Listen to your users!

*2026-08-01, version 2.0.4*

Update 7/30/26:
I have always been a huge advocate of Coda, and feel it is by far more superior than Notion. However, I do want to say that in the past few years, Coda seems to be more concerned about profit than innovation. The mobile app continues to be a prime example. Despite being the superior platform, Coda’s mobile app remains useless. While Notion’s mobile app pretty much gives you access to the exact same features as its desktop app, such as creating and editing formula fields, Coda’s mobile app only lets you view and edit text. (You can’t even create filtered views!)

Yes, I realize Coda is now Superhuman Docs. But the rebranding has done nothing for the platform itself other than a new name. In fact, the brief roadmap shared on the Superhuman blog does not even mention the mobile app. And this is despite the fact that the entire world lives and breathes off their phone…

Sometimes I think Superhuman Docs (fine, I’ll give in) likes to make things more complicated than necessary. Even the new name, Superhuman Docs, gives me a headache — it’s less catchy, more difficult to say or type, and just doesn’t quite roll out correctly on the tongue.

I truly hope the new Superhuman Docs (gosh that’s annoying to say) team will start to focus on their greatest advocates — the user community. Just remember, you can put millions into winning those Enterprise accounts, but if their users aren’t happy, the client won’t be either.

I am still rooting for you guys.

Coda's web product is brilliant, but the mobile app is trailing behind competitors like Notion in terms of feature parity. The mobile experience lacks the limitless formula customizations and multiple views that make Coda great. It feels like the main user base is being neglected in favor of niche versions like the Intune app. The new parent company (Superhuman/Grammarly) has major potential here—please stop neglecting the core mobile experience!

### 3/5 — Please add 2-factor and lockdown mode support

*2026-07-20, version 2.0.3*

The app breaks and doesn’t work at all in lockdown mode.

### 2/5 — How acquisitions slow product growth…

### 2/5 — Great programme but one of the worst apps!

*2025-11-09, version 1.0.45*

I’ve been using Coda for almost a year. I use it through a browser on iPad as the app is just shocking! Coda is really powerful, especially with the Team tier but it’s so frustrating trying to use it on anything other than the computer. I work in a workshop where I need to update notes, work through plans and update the database as I go. I work from an iPad but it’s not the best interface on a small screen. You need to re-write the app from the ground up. I’m going to hold out a little longer but if it doesn’t get sorted, I’m going to move to another platform.

### 1/5 — Needs Improvements

*2025-09-08*

Coda > Notion Web … but just about anything beats coda via the mobile app. I don’t leave reviews, and I feel compelled to do so. I find it almost unusable. I have some big documents and it won’t even read it. Error Message “We can’t load your document. It seems too large for your phone. Please try low memory mode.”

If you’re gonna have an app, then I should be able to use it with some version of functionality as the web.

I am a heavy user on the web, and I thought since the Grammarly acquisition, your app would improve faster, it hasn’t.

### 1/5 — Banyak Bug

*2025-08-08, version 1.0.45*

Padahal kerja pakai ini , di pc oke , tapi apknya ga jelas bikin susah

### 1/5 — Terrible iPhone app, great on the web

*2025-07-18*

I’ve spent a year with Coda… its features were more appealing to me than Notion’s and the app gradually became engrained in my work flow. I still love everything about the web-based application, but I’ll probably switch to another platform because the iPhone app is so terrible. Try copying and pasting text. It doesn’t behave like you’d expect on an iPhone… it’ll take you 5 minutes to copy a few paragraphs if you have to scroll. Every time I open the app, it takes me to the beginning and I’ll spend 2 minutes waiting for the menus to load as I seek through my menus to find the document I was working on 5 minutes ago. Editing a doc is so clunky. Seriously, Apple’s Notes app is about 10x more usable than this app. It’s just such a shame, since the web based app offers so much functionality. But it’s 2025. I need to use work apps like this at work, on planes, during travel, or even in bed in the middle of the night.

### 1/5 — Mobile Version is Trash

*2025-06-16*

Coda should be embarrassed at their mobile app. It’s simply impossible to do the majority of tasks, even when those features and tasks have been requested by users for years (seriously, you can find posts on their message board from 2021 complaining about features that still aren’t there in 2025). There’s no calendar view at all and tables are a joke. All I want to do is add a row to a table and it is literally impossible from my mobile device. I seriously have to bust out my laptop or go to my desktop computer? This is why we’re planning on converting our entire coda workspace to Notion.

### 3/5 — Needs improvement

*2025-05-15*

I built a whole independent contractor system with client facing forms, internal project/task/expense management tables, and sales tracking tables with relation logic. Also built some crazy reports. It’s just a PITA to navigate back and forth and configure but once you get it down it’s amazing. It’s everything I wish Microsoft loop was. Only problems I have is no native push notification customization, automations break and don’t make any sense, & editing settings and navigation can be a bit finicky especially on mobile. There’s definitely a learning curve and patience is required. I hope coda takes time to improve this platform because it’s insane what it can do. I tried almost every app and this got me the closest for business and personal.

### 2/5 — Phenomenal web app, terrible mobile app

*2025-01-07, version 1.0.45*

Can’t load any data, even for small docs it struggles

### 2/5 — Desktop web is amazing, mobile app not so much

*2025-01-06, version 1.0.45*

I absolutely love the desktop version but use the mobile version when I’m on the go.

All of the formatting features on web aren’t available on mobile.

Mobile also has a lot of bugs that are inconvenient and it’s very difficult to move around on a page.

For example, let’s say I’m typing and try to scroll to the top of the page to update information and then scroll back down…

I can’t, the keyboard blocks me from scrolling so I have to hold down my finger to move the cursor around.

Moving to iPhone notes for now.

### 1/5 — Terrible performance

*2024-12-17, version 1.0.45*

Most of my documents don't open, prompts me to go low memory mode then crashes every time.

### 1/5 — Makes me relog in every time, very slow, no features

*2024-11-30, version 1.0.45*

Real bad

### 1/5 — App is worthless

*2024-11-18, version 1.0.45*

App is completely unusable. It constantly has memory issues and needs to be restarted. Gets stuck on a page and can't be changed. I built a whole doc just to be able to use it on my phone and now I can't. Nothing else like using it through a browser or requesting desktop mode seems to work any better.

Coda needs to put some resources behind fixing this because as of now anybody with a phone can't use their system.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — This app is the worst thing about Coda

*2026-08-07*

I love Coda, but this app is just absolutely terrible. It’s so bad it borders on not usable. Please fix this. You’re killing us.

### 1/5 — Really bad

*2026-07-27, version 2.0.4*

App consistently fails to open. Old program used to be amazing, this one is unusable… such a shame, it used to be amazing

### 1/5 — Supercrappy

*2026-07-27, version 2.0.4*

Since coda became superhuman, the app has had nothing but issues. Now I can’t get anything to load. It’s stuck in constant refresh. Please fix these bugs.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2026-07-23, version 2.0.4*

Unfortunately after it became super human the app is non responsive when you open it

### 1/5 — Can’t log in via google sign in

*2026-07-16*

Just what it says. Trying to login via google is failing.

### 1/5 — can’t log in after update

*2026-07-10, version 2.0.0*

everything was fine until the overhaul & now i can’t even log in. i’ve uninstalled & reinstalled and still nothing works.

### 1/5 — Can’t login

*2026-05-20, version 1.2.1*

Won’t even let me login, I typed my email once and it said “Too many attempts. Please try again” and still won’t login.

### 1/5 — Literally impossible to use

*2026-01-31, version 1.0.48*

Cannot press the "got it" button to continue to actually use the app after signing in with Apple. Literally can't use it.

### 1/5 — Lack of basic functionalities

*2026-01-09, version 1.0.46*

No widgets since 2019,

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2025-11-15, version 1.0.45*

I love Coda for web, but the iPad app has become completely unusable for me in the last 6-12 months. I keep hoping there will be an update to fix it, but when I log in, it cannot load my documents. Before that, it would load my documents list but the document contents would not load. AND EVEN BEFORE THAT, when the app *did* work, the functionality is very limited on mobile, as others have said. Overall, very disappointing for a product that I have been ride-or-die for for years.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great with Claude

*2026-08-18*

I haven’t used an app like this before, and I cannot speak to the experience of those primarily using it on iOS. But the connector through Claude is fantastic. I use docs to serve as a meta-brain for my Claude projects to talk to each other and keep up to speed. Can’t praise it enough.

### 5/5 — Love the rebrand!

*2026-08-14*

Love the new Superhuman docs app!

### 5/5 — Great tool to have for my Spanish lessons

*2025-10-07, version 1.0.45*

My tutor was able to create flash cards using this app to help me practice learning Spanish words. This amazing resource has allowed me to study the flash cards on-the-go and not worry about having to bring my notebook everywhere I go.

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2025-10-07, version 1.0.45*

It does the job I need

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2025-05-21, version 1.0.45*

I started using the online version of this on my computer and found not only was it a perfect free alternative to notion but 10X better! I’m currently using this to plan an interrailing trip around Europe and it’s made my life so much easier with the variety of ways that you can customise the doc. Took a bit of getting used to but there are plenty of videos to help you learn and it’s really intuitive once you get to know it. The only feature I think it’s missing is to be able to change the colour of each column. Thank you for this excellent tool!

### 5/5 — Great workspace for startup teams

*2024-12-24, version 1.0.45*

Cool features and UI

### 5/5 — Powerful app

*2024-10-11, version 1.0.45*

Powerful, insighful

### 5/5 — szacun dla PWLK

*2024-07-28, version 1.0.45*

### 5/5 — Giving 5 stars for the website version

*2024-07-19, version 1.0.45*

Coda is such an incredibly powerful tool but the app is sadly lacking in editing power.

### 5/5 — Simple interface ideal for sharing

*2023-02-01, version 1.0.39*

It’s a good app. It’s great for sharing what is virtually an app with clients or others who are casual users. Well done
