## What is Superkitchen?

No more “what's for dinner?” at 5 pm in front of an empty fridge. Superkitchen is the app for families and friends who eat together: plan your meals, collect recipes from a photo, a link or a handwritten note and buy only what is missing at home. Less waste, fewer extra trips, more looking forward to dinner.

And the best part: you do it together. Everyone makes a wish, everyone sees the plan, and after dinner you vote.

FROM INSTAGRAM AND TIKTOK
Saw a reel, tapped share, recipe in the app. Superkitchen reads the post's description right on your iPhone and turns it into ingredients and instructions in its own words. The video stays on the platform, and the link to the original sits on the recipe.

SERVINGS AND SECTIONS
Adjust the servings on the recipe page and all ingredient amounts scale with them. Sections like dough and filling structure longer recipes, and every step can carry its own photo.

NUTRITION
Calories, protein, carbs and fat per serving on every recipe page, calculated on your iPhone from the ingredients. A guide, not nutritional advice.

INGREDIENTS WITH PICTURES
Over 1,000 ingredients with pictures in recipes, pantry and shopping list, on the recipe page as a list or grid. In the instructions, times and temperatures stand out and you tick off finished steps.

YOUR DAY
The day view shows every dish of the day, the way into each recipe and “Check ingredients”: whatever is missing goes on the shopping list. Plus the hourly weather for the day, if you turn it on.

COMMUNITY
Recipes from real kitchens. Switch a recipe to "Community" and every kitchen in Superkitchen can save and cook it. Every recipe is checked before it goes live, and there are no comments, no ratings and no profiles. You see how often your recipe was adopted and cooked.

YOUR MONTH
The month card shows planned days, your best streak and who cooked. The recap includes medals and a nutrition chart for the recorded dishes, based on one recipe serving each.

PHOTO TO RECIPE
Take a photo of a dish, a screenshot, or a handwritten recipe page. The AI turns it into a complete recipe with ingredients, instructions, and nutrition per serving.

PANTRY WITHOUT TYPING
Dictate your pantry ("two cans of tomatoes, we are out of butter"), photograph the receipt or the fridge. Superkitchen recognizes the items, adds up amounts and tidies up on request. After shopping, a receipt matches purchases to your list, adds extras and updates quantities. You confirm separately what moves to the pantry.

PLAN THE WEEK
Who cooks what, and when? Plan cooking days, eating out, delivery, leftovers, or "everyone for themselves". Rate restaurants and delivery services just like recipes. See the meal plan as day columns or a list. In edit mode, drag dishes to the right day. The shopping tab shows planned meals and the ingredients you are still missing.

WISHES AND VOTING
Everyone can add a wish. After the meal you vote in turns, so you learn what really goes down well.

FRIENDS
Connect with friends, share recipes, and invite each other over for a meal. Whether a recipe is visible only to you, to friends or to the community, you decide right on the recipe page.

LANGUAGES AND UNITS
The app speaks German and English and supports both metric and imperial units.

The download is free. Every new kitchen gets 30 AI credits for free. For more AI features there is an optional subscription: Superkitchen AI 100 (4.99 EUR/month) and Superkitchen AI 400 (9.99 EUR/month). Payment is charged to your Apple ID account after purchase. The subscription renews automatically for one month unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. You can manage and cancel your subscription anytime in your device's App Store settings.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.8.1 — 2026-09-27

A clearer view of planning, shopping and cooking.

Your meal plan now also shows days side by side. In edit mode, drag dishes between days and reorder them. The list view remains available as an alternative.

Let your receipt help after shopping: take a photo, review the recognized items and match them to your shopping list. Purchases are checked off, extra items added and quantities updated. Then choose what to move into your pantry.

The monthly recap now charts calories, protein, carbs and fat for the homemade dishes you have recorded. Values are based on one serving of each recipe, with missing information clearly marked. Recipes and the day view also show how calories are distributed across the three macronutrients.

Home has larger day cards and direct access to your restaurants and delivery services. Wishes, recipe lists, inspiration and friends' activities now fit the open photo gallery design more closely.

We have also improved recipe imports and starter recipes, made recipe previews consistent, refined food suggestions and made renaming and editing shopping and pantry items more reliable. Support for larger text is improved too.

### 1.8.0 — 2026-09-24

Recipes from Instagram and TikTok, no screenshot needed. Tap “Share” in the post, then Superkitchen, done. The app reads the description and cover image right on your iPhone, and the next time you open it, a recipe appears: ingredients and amounts taken faithfully, the instructions in our own words. The video stays where it is.

Works with the link too: paste it under “New recipe” and the app does the rest.

The source now sits on the recipe page: “View on Instagram” with the creator’s handle, or “Original recipe on chefkoch.de” for recipe sites. One tap opens the original, also for recipes your friends have saved.

Stories, private accounts and recipes that only live in the video still go the screenshot route.

Servings! Every recipe now has a base, for example “For 4 people”. On the recipe page you turn the number of people up or down, and the ingredients in list, grid and instructions follow live. Open a recipe from the day view and the stepper already shows everyone eating that day, guests included.

The instructions now know their ingredients: they appear bold with a picture right in the step, and as you scroll, an ingredient bar at the top follows along, showing what the current step needs.

Superkitchen creates new recipes for your kitchen instead of a flat four. If grandma’s card says “for 2” or the website says “6 servings”, that stays the base. And “for 8 people” in a revision converts ingredients and instructions.

The shopping list from the day plan asks “For how many?” per day and scales the amounts, adjusting the pantry does the same. Change the base in the edit dialog and the kitchen default under General.

Sections: dough, filling, sauce. Recipes with several components get headings in ingredients and instructions, added in the edit dialog with “Add section”, and the AI picks them up from a recipe card or website on its own.

A photo per step: attach a photo to a step and it shows up on the recipe page right below it.

The meal plan is a list now. One day, one header that sticks to the top while you scroll through that day's meals and gets pushed along by the next one. You simply keep scrolling instead of flipping week by week. Swipe to remove a meal, press and hold for the menu, and the home screen shows your week as a row starting today: tap a day to zoom into it.

The shopping tab now starts with the meals you have planned for the next days. Tap one to see what is still missing and add it to the list with one button.

The pantry listens when you tidy up, too: “we're out of butter” takes it out and puts it on the shopping list, and if you list a shelf completely (“only carrots and zucchini left in the vegetable drawer”), the rest is offered for removal.

One small thing: recipes now start with the main ingredients, with salt, oil and water at the bottom.

Nutrition per serving: calories, protein, carbs and fat now sit on every recipe page, with sugar, fiber and salt. Superkitchen calculates them on your iPhone from the ingredients, using the German Federal Food Code. Anything it cannot count is listed right there. The day view shows roughly what you eat per person. A guide, not nutritional advice.

### 1.7.0 — 2026-09-20

Over 1,000 ingredients with pictures. Recipes, pantry and shopping list now show a picture for every ingredient; on the recipe page as a list or grid, and in the pantry a tap on the picture opens the details.

The day view is your cooking station: flip through the days, every dish leads to its recipe, “Check ingredients” shows what’s missing and puts it on the shopping list. At the bottom, the hourly weather for the day if you like.

In the instructions, times and temperatures stand out and you can tick off finished steps. Weekly planning now turns week by week and leads into the recap.

Credits without brakes: nothing is greyed out anymore, every start tells you what it uses, and when it gets tight, “More credits” shows the ways. Plus many small improvements to menus, sheets and the community.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-09-15

The community is here. Switch a recipe to "Community" and every kitchen in Superkitchen can save and cook it. Public: title, ingredients, steps, duration, power values, the cover photo and your kitchen name. Nothing else: no comments, no ratings, no profiles.

You'll find community recipes in the Friends tab and in the planner. One tap adds them to your collection, and the author sees how often the recipe was saved and cooked.

Also: a warmer start after signing in, a tidier form when creating your kitchen, and polish for the first steps.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-09-14

Planner

One tap on a recipe and the day is planned. The new planner in the Recipes tab shows suggestions from your wishes, favorites and pantry, plus the catalog with your friends' recipes and starter recipes, your restaurants and delivery services. The day strip at the top shows what is already set. If nothing is planned for three days, it opens by itself when you start the app.

Your month

The new month card shows how many days you have planned, your best streak and who cooked. The recap awards medals for full months and milestones for streaks, with confetti when you hit one.

Also: "Just us" or "Friends" right on the recipe page, new recipes are visible to friends. Tap a wish to plan it or turn it into a recipe. "Cook on …" with today, tomorrow and the day after. AI images appear on the recipe page while they are created. Tidier settings. And the AI answers faster.
