Supermarket Check-In is a social app which allows people to check their local supermarket information and stock levels, submitted by other users of the app, and then "check-in" themselves to share their own experience.

The app relies on your experiences, so grab the app and check your local supermarket out, then next time you head out shopping make sure to "check-in" to keep everything up-to-date.

Supermarket Check-In can help you avoid the busiest time when you head out for your shop.  This will not only help you shop at a quieter time, but also minimise the time spent shopping by helping you choose a time when the products you need more are likely stocked.

Supermarket Check-In+ subscriptions are charged through your iTunes account upon confirmation of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew at the price and period selected above unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You may manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your iTunes account settings after purchase. Refunds are not provided for the unused portion of any term, and any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when a purchase is made.

Subscribed to the ad free version but it has suddenly stopped recognising my subscription and there is no method of restoring it. I tried deleting and reinstalling but that didn’t work. So they have taken my money but not provided what I have PAID for - that is theft, pure and simple.

We now have no idea how recent the check-in data is. ‘Over an hour ago’ could be weeks or months ago. Consequently busy/quiet times and stock levels are now all meaningless. 
With more lockdowns looming and idiots stock piling already, a once useful app is now
ineffectual and in current form misleading.

First problem is it relies on the public to gather the data, and now my app wont let me check in anyway.

The app is definitely a great idea. However, if people don’t use it then it’s not helpful at all. If nobody has checked in for 2 or 3 days then there is an estimated wait time which is often inaccurate.

Since the last update over a week ago all shops have a last check in of over an hour which is wrong. This new update makes the app useless and I can’t see anywhere to report it so it can be fixed.

There needs to be some adjustments to the app to be able to report issues and more information provided on previous check ins and wait times so people can have a rough idea of when queues might be long.

My three nearest supermarkets now (13 Jun 2020) have between 100 and 200 check-ins, so it has enough data to show when stocks are highest and queues shortest each day. Using this, I’ve been able to identify times to shop when there’s no queue but enough stock to keep me happy. Every time I shop (not often) I do a check-in to add to the data. Developer makes frequent improvements and updates.
