No category search, if you don’t know the exact product name you won’t find it. There are spelling mistakes and inconsistent spelling (example lasagna/lasagne, Cleavers/Cleaver’s) which makes finding things even harder - only exact matches show in results. I have reached out to the team but had no response at all, which makes it even more frustrating as they promote a community vibe. At this time I would suggest following on instagram but not wasting your money with the app☹️ ### 2/5 — It’s not really a swap tool *2026-06-02, version 3.6.0* Disappointed in this app. I was hoping that I could add a supermarket staple (or scan the code) and it would provide me with a better/cleaner option. But no. If something is not in the app, it’s no good, and you need to navigate through yourself on what might be a better option (eg muesli bar, no real alternative, so change search to snack bar to be able to see something). Definitely not like what their insta reels are like. I do like that their prices are updated with specials. ### 1/5 — SS *2026-05-19, version 3.6.0* There’s a membership don’t bother downloading this app. ### 3/5 — Not keeping my membership *2026-05-11, version 3.6.0* I like the idea of this app, but half the time I don’t know if a product doesn’t come up in search because it hasn’t been added or if it’s not recommended. I would love a barcode scan function that could find the product and tell you either way. Also; it’s really slow to open the app, which is very unhelpful when I’m trying to shop with my kids, and I’d like to quickly check something. Love shopping better for my family, but should be easier and more functionality in the app. ### 1/5 — Deceptive - no mention of costs *2024-10-09, version 3.4* Deceptive marketing with this app. I don’t mind paying for good apps, however I am less inclined to want to purchase an app that did not mention in the description accessibility is limited without membership fees. You have to sign up, register, security code, log in.. only to then discover you have to pay. Highly disappointing . ### 2/5 — Needs improvements *2024-06-01, version 3.2* Great concept, but the value isn’t there yet. I shop mostly online, and the Coles/Woolworths apps show me “my specials” each week. Since I already purchase additive free foods, this feature is all I need really. Maybe this app is good for someone who is trying to make more swaps, but even then, after a couple weeks you wouldn’t need the app anymore. Or, just use the free content Supermarket Swap and other pages offer on Instagram What would be better is if this app suggested recipes based on the weekly specials!! Another massive flaw is the lack of proofreading in the recipes. The amount of times recipe instructions call for an ingredient that is not in the ingredients list is so frustrating. I’ve made so many last minute trips to get ingredients to successfully cook the recipe. This wastes both my time and money. On the flip side, there are sometimes ingredients in the list that aren’t even included in the instructions! So I end up missing that it needs to be included, and that item gets wasted. I’ve wasted way more money due to this than any sort of cost savings this app claims to provide. Especially since I’ve subscribed for $100 for the year. ### 2/5 — A bit disappointing *2024-05-25, version 3.2* Great idea that’s trying to be helpful in supporting people to make better supermarket choices, but most items are from Woolworths or added by users. It’s an expensive app that is propped up by user generated content. The value just isn’t there yet to justify the cost. ### 2/5 — Ok if you shop at Woolies *2023-12-30, version 3.2* The developer shops at Woolies and you can tell as the majority of the limited products in this Ap are from Woolworths. For example, almost every Woolworths bakery bread is listed but only one from Coles when most of them are additive free. Another example is cheese. You can find Woolies mozzarella, slices, blocks etc but not for Coles. I kindly asked the developer many months ago if there were plans to expand the range for Coles and it was suggested I should send the products in so they could be added. This defeats the purpose of laying a hefty annual fee! The Ap itself is clunky and often freezes when scrolling. My annual subscription is soon due to renew however I will pass as none of these issues have been addressed in the last two years of subscribing. ### 1/5 — Don’t bother - can’t use any features unless you spend $100 on membership *2023-07-09, version 2.3* This app makes you sign up straight after download but after that point you have to have a membership to use basically all of the features. What’s worse is that there isn’t even a free trial period. Sorry but I’m not going to fork out $99 for membership when I haven’t even had a chance to see if it’s any good. Deleting this app straight away. Misleading and a waste of time. ### 5/5 — Gamechanger *2023-06-28, version 2.3* I loved this app before because of its planning functionality, but now it’s simply a necessity as the cost of living starts to hit. I would never have thought I’d be an Aldi shopper, but here we are. The Easy Eats are BRILLIANT and I feel so great knowing I’m making better, simpler - and more often than not - more economical changes.
