I type in the weight I do on each workout but it doesn’t save. When I go to completed workouts to see how much I lifted last time, the weight is blank. I have to write down my whole workout. What is the point of this app?

App functionality is buggy. If you log out and log back in, the app will let you enter information once. After that, weight, reps, notes cannot be updated. Makes it difficult to use as history is not retained.

Even on an iPhone, the timer doesn’t work. Regardless of what the timer is set for, it clears the timer in less than a second.

9/22 - timer still does not work on iphone or ipad.  Data entry on ipad is buggy - if you leave the workout to watch a video, when you return to the workout tab, no data entry is allowed.

I started using Superset in late 2024 and was immediately drawn to its simplicity and spreadsheet-style programming. My clients loved the clean UI and data visualization, and it was positioned as a more affordable, coach-first alternative to Trainerize—which is exactly what sold me on it.

Since then, though, the platform has made some changes that have been tough to justify. Their new pricing structure includes significantly higher costs, with per-client fees that are higher than any other training software I’ve seen. There is also 4% platform fee on all automated payments—on top of Stripe’s standard processing fee. For comparison, other platforms offer payment processing as a flat-rate add-on. The new model increases cost as you grow, without adding meaningful new value. That makes Superset the most expensive coaching app I’ve tested, despite offering fewer features at a higher price point.

Canceling also isn’t straightforward—you have to contact support directly instead of managing it yourself, which feels unnecessarily outdated for a SaaS platform in 2025. That kind of friction doesn’t align with a user-first experience.

For brand-new coaches with just a few clients, Superset could still be a solid starting point. But long term, coaching tools need to scale with you—and in my experience, Superset just doesn’t.

That said, the team has always been kind and professional, and I still believe the platform has potential. I hope they return to the things that made them stand out: transparency, simplicity, affordability, and putting coaches first.
