One of the worst apps I’ve tried ### 1/5 — I am not your employee *2024-06-30* My first buddy, though very nice, was not a match in age, or in her goals. At the end of seven days, the app has us rate one another. You know, like at the end of every customer service call. I will not pay money, to be rated. Apparently, every 7 days, you might get fired. There was an episode of The Black Mirror about a society built on individuals rating one another. I joined this program to share an accountability goal. I’m not sure if there are professional psychologists involved in developing this program, but if there are, they should know better! ### 2/5 — I wanted to love this *2023-04-19* Not impressed thus far. My first match messaged me one time, (and that was on day one) in five days. Now i’m waiting to get matched with someone else which has yet to happen. If the whole point of this app is for accountability, which the user obviously already struggles with, then this isn’t very helpful. What is someone who struggles to stay disciplined to do on the weeks when they have a bad match (which they can’t know or do anything about for several days) and then it takes so much time to get rematched? I’ll tell you what they do- they continue on with bad habits because they don’t have anyone to hold them accountable. Looking at it from this view- it seems like the app is a fail to me. Would love to be wrong but I may not find out- At this point I won’t renew after the two week trial. Two stars for a good concept- sorry I can’t give more right now. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on devices with notch *2023-03-13* Cannot use the app past the signup process, as the menu button is located in the area reserved for the notch and cameras ### 1/5 — Unresponsive buddies *2023-02-09* I was paying for nothing. Seven days without a buddy that would say anything. ### 4/5 — Accountability buddy *2022-12-07, version 1.5.35* I am a fairly motivated person, but I need just a little nudge to do things consistently- I just need someone to notice. I’ve tried getting other people in my life to be my accountability buddy and it hasn’t worked. This absolutely fits the bill. Every week you get paired with a new buddy. I like meeting other people trying to improve themselves. The app is easy to interact with. At first it sent too many notifications but it’s better now. I wish it automatically nudged an unresponsive buddy. It does allow you to get rematches if it doesn’t work out. ### 2/5 — Concept nice but assigned bots *2021-10-20, version 1.5.34* I loved this concept when I found out about it. The first person I was matched to (only matched for one week at a time) was great and obviously a real person. I then was matched to my second person. When I tried conversing with the second person, it became really clear the second ‘person’ was a bot!!! Probably couldn’t get enough people to join, but I was paying $15 a month for the idea that I was being held accountable by an actual person. **Developer response:** Hi there, thanks for your feedback. It is definitely what I was looking for- an accountability buddy. I am having some technical problems with the app but the tech support has been really good.
