Surf Captain is the most accurate and easiest to use surf forecasting I’ve ever found. I upgraded to the premium version for the extended forecasts so I could plan out when it’s worth surfing and when it’s worth skipping. It’s been so helpful in that way for me. It’s always been the most accurate with the most data available from day one. Having all of that info in an app is amazing. The chief captain even admits the block is meant to encourage users to subscribe to Surf Captain Pro. I understand the need for a paid subscription, but restricting loyal users’ access as a sales tactic feels unfair. A better approach would be to offer features that make people want to upgrade, not force them into it. The team at Surf Captain really knows what they are doing and are more qualified to provide their service - simple and accurate surf forecasting - than any other team out there. With this app there isn’t any funny business, over-hype, over-calling, weird color scales, or purposeful forecast tampering. I really liked MSW before it became Surfline, which I don’t find as user friendly. I’ve also been using Swell Info, but it was bought out and doesn’t work half the time anymore. On the lookout for other apps, I found Surf Captain. I see this app as a combo between the old MSW and current Swell Info, a wish come true. Thank you Surf Captain! ### 5/5 — Hands down best for east coast U.S. *2024-03-24* After years of being disappointed by magic seaweed and then forced to the awful Surfline. Somehow I stumbled upon Surf Captain and never looked back. The other companies seem to care less about the East coast but it seems Surf Capt. had it dialed in. Completely reliable, incredibly easy to use and my hands down favorite surf app. I never second guess it, I don’t look elsewhere to confirm.
