Easy to install and use and integrates well with IOS. For me I purchased this to use whilst abroad to access Netflix and other streaming services. On the whole this is a fairly good app and works with the majority of streaming services (Netflix, prime and apple), however, this will not work with paramount plus. I did have one or two drop outs but I put this down to the hotel wifi which is hit and miss. If they manage to solve the paramount plus streaming issue I would have given it 5 stars, but until this is sorted I suspect it will be a deal breaker for a few. Do you really want to spend money on an app the developer has abandoned? No wonder why it doesn’t work and there’s no longer customer support. Think about it. They will probably deploy a new app (with the same name) but it will be subscription-based. It used to show a map of the Current Connection Location (was helpful), but it was replaced with “spend more money here” screen. ### 3/5 — Doesn’t always stay connected *2022-05-23* The app works but it turns off on its own, from time to time so, I have to check often to make sure my connection is still protected. Many times, I’d check to find the VPN off and I’d have no idea how long my connection was unprotected. It wasn’t like this long ago. The app was, at one time, very reliable and when I’d check if the VPN was still on, I’d find that it was. It was very reassuring. I hope SurfEasy can get back to that level of security again 🤞🏽. ### 4/5 — Easy to use *2022-02-05* Very easy to get started. I'm collecting rewards right now which is a nice feature. I really don't know enough about it to leave an accurate review. One thing I am noticing is it keeps disconnecting and saying I don't have an internet connection when I do. It just did it again while I was typing this. Numerous contacts with Support have not resolved this frustrating problem after successfully using the service for many years. Very frustrating! Today, I upgraded my iPhone and have to reinstall VPN profile. However, due to being so out-dated, reinstalling VPN profile is not possible due to it keeps crashing. Until this is fixed, please do not subscribe or renew since it won’t work if you have to setup again. ### 1/5 — Problem subscription *2023-01-11, version 4.6.8* I have a subscription from their website and recently also bought annual subscription from App Store. When other sun expired I can’t log in and no way to log in using the new subscription which is paid for the year via App Store. So I have a year paid that cannot use. My login was jheaney@live now expired. How to utilize login from App Store account. I never set up login details and it’s expired via old external direct account. Do not want to subscribe again bc can’t contact them. ### 1/5 — No longer connects after being forced to switch from monthly to annual subscription *2022-06-30* As per title, surfeasy cancelled my monthly subscription without notice. Doubled the new monthly cost or offered the same or a ver slightly cheaper annual price. Having used surfeasy, with very few issues, for several years I took the annual route, having now done so I find it no longer connects on the iPad. 2 days of subscription lost. It looks like I will have to cancel and find a new app. ### 1/5 — Can't Create Account *2021-04-01, version 4.6.8* I downloaded this ap on my phone. It creates a subscription. Then, it does not do anything. It simply sits there on the 5th page you hae to scroll over to get to and says, "Loading Subscription Details" and hangs... The sign in screen works - but it never lets the user create and account to sign into... I simply took it off my machine, (had to cancel my subscription at the Ap store or would have been charged every month), and will find a VPN service that works. ### 1/5 — Says VPN on but no change in IP *2020-11-26, version 4.6.8* Have used this app for several years. But now I can’ get it to use a different IP address than my own. It shows the VPN icon and says I’m protected but map and IP address show nothing has changed. I’ve toggled to different countries and back to US or optimized and it still ends up using my personal IP address. 1-star for this plus how do I know my communication is encrypted?? Beware, check your IP address before and after turning it on. ### 1/5 — Won't even install anymore *2020-11-15, version 4.6.8* New review: I deleted and reinstalled but the VPN profile won't install when I respond to the prompt to install it. It was burning up data a mile a minute a couple months ago; now it's totally unusable. No response from customer service. I'm over it. I need to find a reliable VPN service , and clearly I can't get that unless I pay for it. These could have been the guys I paid, but the app went crazy and then dead. Recent review:A very good free service with almost no dropouts and the advantage of changing locations and appearances all over the world. However, the mbs of data are currently burning up at the rate of practically 1 a minute and before you know it your free monthly allotment of data is gone. ### 1/5 — Used to be perfect but latest version does not work on my iPad nor computer *2020-07-11, version 4.6.8* I have spoken with them 3 times and sent numerous messages but issue is not fixed. But I have to do it every time, many times each day, when I discover the program has stopped working. I reopen Surfeasy ( of course getting all blank s on the screen ) then go to the side panel & select a new region and the app will work ....for a short while. As to working on my iMax High Sierra, they need to fix their program. I installed it but there is no indication that it is even working or even there! ### 1/5 — Poor customer service *2020-06-27, version 4.6.8* I have been using Surf easy for last few years and it was okay till suddenly it stopped working . From app I contacted support multiple times with no response , after 2 days I deleted app and try to restore and it did not worked luckily it had option to email support which I did and they could not find any records , seriously shows in my subscription as valid subscription , after back and forth with customer service and providing all the proof of valid subscription including receipt , I get this email While reviewing your receipt, the date mentioned was Jul 1, 2019 valid until Jul 1, 2020. So, in 4 days your subscription is expiring. Please check if you have a latest receipt for the recent charges, as you might have mistakenly sent the old receipt. What kind of operations SurfEasy is running . Apple need to take action against this kind of app developers who are not honoring the subscription commitment Update , Now the dudes at SurfEasy are saying they need receipt in PDF format , what a joke Apple does sends email of subscription renewal not a PDF . Apple take action against this kind of companies who are using your platform to not honor the commitment and take contract breach as part of the there BAU ### 1/5 — Will not uninstall when deleted. *2020-06-27, version 4.6.8* I can’t get this off my ipad or iphone even after deleting the app. It still shows up as a vpn in my device VPN settings, and in my list of installed apps still shows up as needing an update even though the app icon is gone and the app supposedly deleted. This problem goes back as far as my iphone 4, which after deleting the app, I could still enable and use the VPN even though the app had been deleted. If I enable it on my current devices, since my subscription expired, it completely disables internet access, won’t even let me drop back to the limited free mode. I am having weird network/hotspot problems on both devices that neither Apple or Verizon can figure out and need to uninstall all networking apps that might be causing the problem, before having to resort to scrubbing everything with a complete reset.. ### 1/5 — Flawed and ineffective app and apathetic developer and customer service. *2020-06-05* I have reported this countless times: the VPN turns itself off and turns off Wi-Fi connectivity, constantly, every few minutes. It is a cycle. When I attempt to turn it back on, it takes several tries. This is the only reliable thing about this VPN- that this will happen over and over and over, without exaggeration nor embellishment. And I constantly send a diagnostic report. The fact that this is ongoing, for a couple of years now, and worsening, shows that those responsible for maintaining this app do not care about its subscribers. My only fault is that I neglect to cancel my annual renewal subscription. So much of my valuable time is wasted trying to relaunch the app and write then send a diagnostic report.
