At least once a week a child is missing. I’ve stopped bothering to add them again. The result of this is that it makes it much harder for me to renew their books and they’re constantly overdue. I’ve reported this so many times but it seems nobody can get to the bottom of it. It’s making borrowing books very difficult ### 2/5 — Useful but… *2025-07-26, version 2025.24* Used to be excellent, but I now have to add my children’s cards what feels like almost every time I use the app as it seems to lose the link? ### 2/5 — Not great *2025-06-07, version 2025.22* App will not load properly, poor interface and accessibility. It is extremely irritating to have to repeatedly add them back. Reinstalling app does not seem to correct this. Search limit to Surrey Libraries and the book is showing as available in Coggleshsall Essex. Am I supposed to drive from Guildford? Cheaper and quicker to buy the book. Reserve? Yes that’ll cost you £0.75. Might as well buy from a charity shop. Bizarre. Poor first experience ### 2/5 — Not just Surrey *2025-01-16, version 2024.25* Can be useful to see your account, loans etc. However, I try to use it to search for books and instead of just Surrey, it shows me all sorts of other locations such as Colchester which is nowhere near Surrey - I am not going to travel there to get a book! If it’s a Surrey Library app, it should not be showing me libraries in Essex, London, Sussex. ### 1/5 — Stopped Working *2022-10-10, version 2020.2* This app was really handy until recently. It now isn’t working at all. I can’t search for any books and am unable to see what is on the shelf. Now it is completely pointless. I can’t believe it has been left broken for over a month, too! Now the search function is not working so I can’t reserve any books. Wanted to renew a book before due … guess what I couldn’t… there is no point on having an app to assist when doesn’t really work. Something major? ### 3/5 — Good Foundations *2020-09-11, version 2020.1.8* The app does what it says on the tin, but it would be good if you could add your library card to the Apple Wallet to make it easier to get to in the library ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Crashing *2025-12-14, version 2025.44* Mostly doesn’t load and freezes when opening. When it does load I cannot renew a book - either hangs or asks me repeatedly if I want to renew - press ‘yes’ and goes round and round in circles, but doesn’t renew the item ### 1/5 — Even app support doesn’t work *2025-11-11, version 2025.38* It’s always been clunky but now when I try to login I just get endless loading screens and when I hit the app support button that doesn’t work either! Come on guys, the library service should be an easy win for any council. ### 1/5 — Useless *2025-07-05, version 2025.24* This app is no longer fit for purpose. I’ve been using it for years to renew my library books and have my daughter’s account linked. However, now every time I log on it has dropped her linked account, has logged me out, or repeatedly hangs then tells me the service is not available. Several times I have accrued fines because it appeared my books had renewed online but haven’t. Very annoying please sort it out ### 1/5 — Terrible clunky app *2025-03-08, version 2024.25* Searching the catalogue requires library card barcode and pin. Totally unnecessary. Only needed to reserve not search. I think it’s useless. ### 1/5 — Looks good but no way to get back out of a section *2023-10-31, version 2022.2.2* The front page looks promising but you click into a section and then there is no back button, so the only way out is to come out of the app and then hard close it on your Ipad so that you can get back to the front page. Poor design, I will not be using this and it may limit my library use which I did on the website and that was brilliant. ### 1/5 — Very poor functionality *2023-08-26, version 2022.2.2* Does not accept my login details. Crashes constantly. Does not allow to renew loans. ### 1/5 — This app is very buggy *2023-08-02, version 2022.2.2* Needs work to load loans faster and allow renewals ### 1/5 — Not Surrey! *2023-04-25* Always been useful in the past, especially for renewals. But, now in searching for a book I am given a list of Essex libraries where I can find the book. This is an App for Surrey! I don’t want to go to Essex for my books! Also, now when you click on a book, you cannot get back to the home page without closing and relaunching the App. Dreadful functionality. ### 1/5 — A big disappointment now. *2023-03-10, version 2022.2.1* Used the app for years with few problems. Now latest update has cut me out. Clicking on the app support page resorts to error 404. File or directory not available. Shame to see negative comments for what is a free service without the resources to invest in a more fancy app. ### 5/5 — Brilliant app *2019-11-03, version 3.9.19* Such a great app to be able to renew your books and order any books you want. ### 5/5 — Really useful! *2018-08-25, version 3.9.19* I just moved back to Surrey and they didn’t have an app before. It’s completely changed the way I use the library and made it way easier - I love how easy it is to reserve and search for books. The barcode scanner is a great idea. Recommend it if you use Surrey libraries even occasionally ### 5/5 — Worth having! *2014-04-24, version 1.4* This is a nice little app and works well. I highly recommend it for anyone who lives in Surrey! The list showing when something you have reserved is available at your library could be improved a bit? Nothing too advanced, but good access to these basic tasks. Used to be able to see what you have on order but although it mentions reservations I can’t seem to find a list! Launches, but none of the options can be selected. ### 3/5 — A search by library would be very useful *2025-12-25, version 2025.44* The app is good but what is disappointing is that the search of a book cannot be made by library. At the moment you search for a book, you get a list of results, then most of the times that book is not in your library but you need to open each result to find out.
