### 4/5 — My honest review

*2026-08-06, version 0.0.3*

It’s the only emulator that works best but still lags on some games I believe they can improve over time hopefully unlike the other emulators this one so far pretty good not the best yet but good

### 4/5 — Its ok but

*2026-07-07*

It needs to be a bit better.

### 5/5 — Great emulator

*2026-05-24, version 0.0.2*

PS2 emulation is very difficult without JIT, and this emulator really pushes the boundaries of what is possible without it.

### 4/5 — Bought this to support the developer

*2026-05-22, version 0.0.1*

This emulator works better than all the other ps2 ones on here atm and the UI is great with many customizable features, hopefully they figure a way to get 3-D games to run a bit faster on high end devices without needing to jump through hoops in the near future, this is definitely a great start

### 5/5 — Impressive

*2026-05-18*

Tried out a few games and yeah works very well. I haven’t tried any ‘heavy hitters’ yet but other smaller games work well. Just taking some time getting the games off my old dusty PS2 collection which was in storage ! A talented dev. Appreciate the hard work and the cost of a few coffees is nothing

### 5/5 — Well worth the price for anyone running recent hardware

*2026-05-18*

We are now in cutting edge territory. Read the description and understand what you are accepting when purchasing. 2d games are great, some 3d games are more miss than hit with this current build.

But it will get better considering this developer brought us Fin and Sakura. Nothing like this exists in the App Store. Again, cutting edge, expect some paper cuts.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — PLEASE UPDATE

*2026-08-27, version 0.0.3*

most ps2 roms lag and are too slow to play, mind you I’m using an iPhone 17 pro max (12GB of Ram)

### 1/5 — ً

*2026-08-25, version 0.0.3*

Fake app and a useless file manager cloak. It doesn't launch any games or work as advertised, total scam and waste of time."

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-05-23, version 0.0.1*

Bought the app for it to not even open for me

### 1/5 — Very Buggy

*2026-05-19, version 0.0.1*

Sometimes the Apple crashes and you have to take all the games out for the app to load and then import them again. I was testing out samurai showdown 6 and during a fight crashes and respirings my phone.

The app is very buggy and needs more improvements

I feel that they should’ve done further testing before releasing.

I wasted $7

### 2/5 — Still need work

*2026-08-30, version 0.0.3*

Es una app prometedora espero y el desarrollador pueda mejorarla para poder disfrutar de juegos de ps2

### 2/5 — Runs Slow but has potential

*2026-06-28, version 0.0.2*

The system runs 3d games very slow, however, I purchased this app because I believe in the creator that he will make it better in time. I will update my review as time goes on. If the creator of this app can either bypass JIT, or create an internal JIT, or achieve full capability, he will surely become a multi millionaire and will have done something nobody else has been able to accomplish, bring true modern gaming to the iphone direct from the app store. Hopefully the creator of this app continues to develop this.

### 2/5 — Kaum nutzbar

*2026-06-06*

Endlich eine Möglichkeit PS2 Titel auf dem Iphone zu spielen. Leider ist die Performance so schlecht, dass die einzelnen Spiele mit 10fps laufen.
Sollte das behoben werden, gibt es 5 Sterne.

### 3/5 — Game

*2026-09-02, version 0.0.4*

I purchased the Surume and it’s not working for ps3 games on iPhone Air

### 3/5 — Controller customization

*2026-08-22, version 0.0.3*

In Controller tab - Layout and Position, when clicking preview, the back screen with some options to change size and colors , I can not remove it, it stuck there, and which I click X, it is out of the window back to settings, please check this one

### 3/5 — Good Emulator but the Speed needs to stay High for Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!

*2026-06-14*

Like the Emulator but the Speed definitely needs to stay High for Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy even it’s a JIT-Less Emulator it needs to run smoothly and have no problems at all pretty please and thank you! The speed on Wheel of Fortune is sitting between 40-70% which means not good! I’m running both Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! on my iPhone 14 Plus!

### 5/5 — Latest .4 update is amazing

*2026-09-02, version 0.0.4*

Edit: okay, I ended up going back to .3 after all. I noticed issues with PS2 performance when I later did a clean install. My guess is some settings from .3 persisted with .4 that made the difference. Or some internal changes. I compared settings from another device that matched performance before and I could see some options missing with .4 now. Maybe something with that?

Keeping it 5 stars because there is still nothing like this on the App Store. I have faith this will keep evolving.

I was a believer before and I am happy to say you are the official emulator leader in the iOS space. Forget Manic. Great job as usual Dylan.

### 5/5 — Hi

*2026-08-30, version 0.0.3*

Please fix crashes because I can’t play

### 5/5 — Excellent - What about Netcode?

*2026-08-02*

Excellent.
What about Netcode for on line and on lan games?
Hopping for 🙂

### 5/5 — Works great on devices but iPad has a slight issue

*2026-07-13*

Edit: similar to Fin long presses on the game titles do not bring up the context menu like it does on the phone. But unlike Fin it does bring up the Surume Shortcuts menu item as the only context item. I would post this on your Discord, but I really do not like giving my phone number on social media platforms even for verification purposes.

It will continue to get better considering this developer brought us Fin and Sakura. Nothing like this exists in the App Store. Again, cutting edge, expect some paper cuts.

### 5/5 — Early stages With a great future

*2026-07-09, version 0.0.3*

My device is 15promax so it’s a bit older but I can still run a good amount of things. It’s still early development and getting better with each update!

### 5/5 — Love The Emulator!

*2026-07-06, version 0.0.3*

The person on Reddit, showed us how to make Surume Emulator run faster and smoother and I thanked that person a lot for the helping hand!

### 5/5 — The App is well designed and i’m happy to support it.

*2026-06-17, version 0.0.2*

When it comes to 3D games , the performance drops significantly , resulting in low FPS,
but in the end ,
Thank you for your hard work. Keep it up—this has the potential to become one of the best PS2 emulators available on the App Store.

### 5/5 — PS2 🔥

*2026-06-07, version 0.0.2*

Honestly this Emulator has a lot of potential although the majority of the great games are 3D hope that you guys improve better performance and stability in every way possible for the 3D Games keep up the good work 👍🏻

### 5/5 — Don’t expect miracles

*2026-06-05, version 0.0.2*

3D games don’t run full speed, you WILL have to mess around with Performance options to dodge loading-screen soft-locks, and it eats battery like mad if not plugged in. But it works. (Turning both VU and INTC hacks on and the other things under Performance off let me pass the loading screens in Dark Cloud, so try that combination first.)
(iPad Pro, M1 chip)

Kudos to both the dev and the ARMSX2/PCSX2 teams. Can’t believe JITless PS2 is possible. Great job.

P.S.
Could you please add a tip under “About” along the lines of ‘performance settings with highest compatibility/lowest chance of crashes’? Thank you.

### 5/5 — It isn’t perfect, but it’s just what I dreamed of!

*2026-05-25, version 0.0.2*

For years I’ve wanted a simple way to play retro sports games on the go and now I finally have it. It has a tendency to chug a little at times but when I’m just browsing roster pages and filling out draft picks it’s is lovely.
