## What is SusuWallet?

Susu savings circle never had a money problem. It had a memory problem.

For generations, susu, sou-sou, tanda, ajo, and stokvel circles have moved real money on nothing but trust, a notebook, a group chat, someone's memory of whose turn it is. That trust holds until it doesn't: a missed payment, a forgotten payment, a dispute nobody can resolve because there's no record. SusuWallet doesn't replace the trust. It gives it a paper trail.

How it works:
• Sign a real agreement when you join, the amount, schedule, and payout order, agreed by everyone before the first hand is due.
• Every payment is logged to a shared ledger the whole circle can see.
• Payments are two-sided: the payer claims it, the recipient confirms it. Nothing counts as settled until both sides agree.
• Every confirmed payment builds your SusuScore, a portable trust score that travels with you into your next circle, with a new group of people who've never met you.
• Your Circle Passport is the record of every circle you've ever completed proof you show up.

Why we built it this way: apps that tried to modernize susu before us made the same mistake. They tried to hold the money. Custodial apps mean banking licenses, frozen funds, and a company standing between you and your own savings. SusuWallet never touches a dollar. Money still moves the way it always has, hand to hand — Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, cash. We just make sure nobody has to remember, and nobody has to guess.
