## What is 经折 SutraFold?

经折 SutraFold is a clean, trustworthy reader for Chinese Buddhist sutras and mantras — a digital 课诵本 for English-educated Chinese Buddhists.
Each text is presented line by line in three layers — Chinese characters, liturgical pinyin, and English meaning — and every layer can be toggled on or off. Read the characters alone, chant from the pinyin, or study with the translation alongside.

• 心经 Heart Sutra
• 大悲咒 Great Compassion Mantra
• 阿弥陀经 Amitabha Sutra
• 普门品 Universal Gate Chapter (Lotus Sūtra ch. 25)
• 往生咒 Rebirth Dhāraṇī
FAITHFUL, NOT FLATTENED
• One edition per text: characters from a named canonical source (CBETA / Taishō), pinyin from a named liturgical edition — never merged from multiple sources.
• Liturgical readings, not dictionary pinyin (般若 = bō rě, 南无 = ná mó).
• English translations are public-domain or freely licensed, reproduced with full attribution.
• Every text shows its sources — provenance is displayed, not buried.
• Dharanis are left untranslated, as the tradition intends, with a short note about their meaning and use.
FREE, FOREVER
The texts are free and always will be. No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no gamification.
Works fully offline — all texts are bundled with the app.
