Pair it with a seaboard, or even better, run it under AUM with GeoShred controlling it and some good reverbs from Eventide or FabFilter and Oh Wow…worth every penny. GeoShred now has a MIDI setting specially made to work with the SWAM brass instruments. If you have GeoShred get the SWAM in app purchase, just to good. It’s the music app I’m using the most, and I have them almost all. ### 5/5 — Really Impressive *2021-02-12* Incredible realism, no huge sample library to burden the device. Perfect for portable devices. I plan on punching the entire library over time, thank you AM and please keep releasing. ### 5/5 — Blown Away *2021-02-04* Having just Blown Away my quarterly App budget on the Trumpet Bundle - all I can say is these Apps are everything I hoped they would be. The level of expression obtainable is far above what my musicianship would normally allow. Very intuitive to use - all you need is a basic understanding of voicing - MIDI and an rudimentary knowledge of composition and you are set. I would hope that in the future Audio Modeling/SWAM will allow a more flexible approach to Bundles and allow the user to choose. Please get the Woodwinds out next. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Update 3.7.4 has broken my projects *2024-09-30* I recently bought the swam big band bundle, however the new update 3.7.4 has rendered my current in progress projects unloadable in Logic Pro. Hours of work gone. Starting a new Logic Pro project and loading swam trumpet gives an error, Failed to load Audio Unit “Swam trumpe” (sic). ### 1/5 — Doesn't give warnings *2023-08-17* Apparently I bought something that this app did not giv me an option sobi spent over $21 on something that I never knew I bought I didn't have $21 to spend on some stupid app that I deleted less than 15 minutes after I got it ### 1/5 — Good app but needs a lot of work *2023-05-27* The app doesn’t respond very well to the midi control. When I press a key on the midi it takes a few seconds to respond. I already tried resetting the settings but it didn’t help. On the plus side, this is the best most realistic trumpet ever available on IOS. So why not 5 stars? Because there is a problem with the app having no way to disable Background Audio. So on my iPad it drains the battery flat. This has been reported, but still not fixed. It’s probably not the developer’s fault but could someone from your team work with the Apple Team for them to fix their issues with Logic Pro for iPad. The only thing that I would like to see is a better “fall”. It is very short - would prefer a longer tail, or better yet the ability to make the fall as long/short is I would like (if it’s already there then my bad!). I really love this app that I’m mixing in AUM with my nylon guitar and an expression pedal. My next will be cello… Thanks Swam team for being so clever, smart, creative. ### 5/5 — Possibly the most authentic brass sound I’ve heard. *2021-12-16* SWAM Trumpet I obtained after using some others. Just out of sheer curiosity I added some ‘vintage’ FX to one track with this Audio Unit. This consisted of a ‘vintage’ amp simulator and a crackly recorded track run in parallel as the song plays. After gaining some small amount of skill with the expression parameter sliders on-screen, you can play the solo trumpet with one hand while adjusting slightly the expression with the other. I think you can even ‘add in’ that expression later in an ‘over-dubbing’ of the same MIDI track, but I have not tried that. I have found the persuasiveness of this Trumpet, is extraordinary. Striking and stunning, is my overall assessment. ### 5/5 — Amazing *2021-10-25* Simply the most versatile and intuitive software that I have seen on iPad…I have found my sound ### 5/5 — Just a little bit of musical heaven on earth *2021-09-08* I can’t celebrate this company or it’s offerings enough. If you’re making music and you want realism in a digital format, this SWAM library is seriously one of a kind. Especially with an MPE controller - you have real sounding instruments at your fingertips that only experts could discern as being synthetic. Heck, I bet you could even fool them in the right song/context. Don’t trust me, go have a listen to what they offer and get your wallet out, cause you won’t make a more worthwhile plug-in investment this year. Could we also have the keys sounds like the desktop version ? ### 5/5 — Just incredible *2021-03-16* I’m running this and tenor trombone on a 3rd gen iPad Pro with a LinnStrument 128 just in default mode in the app and this is the absolute closest I’ve heard from anything that wasn’t an actual horn with the added bonus that I can play them like a guitar on the LinnStrument.
