Companion app for SwamCam Drowning Prevention Camera System.
Utilizing a camera, wifi repeater/alarm combination and a keypad, SwamCam is designed to prevent drownings before they occur.

Every year there are an average of 400 pool-or-spa-related fatal drownings involving children younger than 15 years of age nationwide! Drowning is a leading cause of unintentional death for young children-mostly due to falling into a pool or being left alone in a bathtub [NSC]. Clunky software with limited functionality. Other better established companies out there’s with better software.

The alarm needs a delay so you can walk through the field of view shortly after turning it on. Not a big deal for me because I can turn on and off with the app but my pool guy can’t.

**Developer response:** We provide the keypad with the system for just this type of issue. Its waterproof. Put it where the pool crew can disarm and re-arm the system as needed. Delays would undermine our ASTM F2208 certification. We cannot build that in.

The app is easy to use, and works on the Apple Watch too to arm and disarm the alarm! There can sometimes be a little lag in the live view timing but I find that with all of the cameras out there (ring/nest etc). I like that I can set my alarm hours, talk through the camera,  and easily connect to emergency services if need be when the alarm goes off.
