## What is Swan Signal?

If you don't check in, your loved ones will know.

Swan Signal is your daily life-sign service - a digital dead-man switch for people who live alone, travel alone, train alone, or simply want someone to notice when something is wrong.

WHO THE APP IS BUILT FOR

- Solo & extreme-sports athletes - road cycling, running, climbing, triathlon, mountain biking, diving
- People living alone, of any age
- Solo travelers, backpackers, hikers
- People with irregular contact to family
- People with pre-existing health conditions
- Commuters in the field, freelancers
- Relatives of seniors (the senior installs the app, you are entered as a contact)
- For everyday life

HOW IT WORKS

1. Pick up to 3 emergency contacts from your iPhone address book.
2. Confirm once every 24 hours with your 4-digit code that you are fine - then no message goes to your contacts.
3. If the confirmation is missed, your contacts are notified automatically by email and SMS - with your last known location.

You set the rhythm: a 24-hour check-in window (standard) or a shorter 12-hour window.

WHY SWAN SIGNAL

> The alert goes out - no matter what happens.
Battery dead? Phone lost? App deleted? The protection on our servers keeps running - 24/7.

> Your contacts don't need the app.
Emergency contacts receive the alert as a regular email or SMS. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for, nothing to configure. Works on any phone, any computer, anywhere.

> Location included.
With location sharing enabled, every alert message contains a Google Maps link with your last known position. Help knows exactly where to go.

> Emergency button for instant help.
Acute emergency? Tap the emergency button, confirm with your code - alert goes out immediately. No 24-hour wait.

> Danger Zone for high-risk situations.
Climbing, diving, walking home alone, first date, solo trip? Activate the Danger Zone with a shortened countdown - 10 minutes to 6 hours.

> Pause Mode when you don't need protection for a while.
Pause 1, 3, 7 days or indefinitely.

> Make it your own.
Two terminal designs (Bunker and Radio Station) plus a color-blind mode.

Swan Signal is NOT a replacement for official emergency numbers (112 in EU, 911 in USA, or your local equivalent). In any acute danger to life, always call the official emergency number first.

SMS delivery is not available in all countries - notably USA and Canada, sanctioned countries, and a few high-risk regions. For contacts in those countries, alerts are delivered by EMAIL only (which works worldwide). Full list in our Terms of Service.

Your location, code and contact data leave your device only as part of an alert message. No advertising. No tracking. No sale to third parties. Made in Germany.

AVAILABILITY NOTICE

Email alerts work worldwide. SMS alerts are available via our provider Twilio in approximately 107 countries — including Europe, DACH, UK/Ireland, Australia/New Zealand, Latin America, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, India, GCC.

NOT supported: sanctioned countries, USA/Canada, Israel, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines, most African countries and Pacific islands. In these countries, emergency contacts receive only the alert email.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.18 — 2026-08-08

This release makes your protection more dependable - and more honest.

No lockout while protection is running
If your subscription ends while the countdown is running, you can still check in, disarm and trigger the emergency call. Until now the subscription screen could lock you out in exactly that situation - and your contacts were alerted without you being able to stop it.

Contact changes take effect immediately
Adding or removing a contact now updates the server right away. Until now the old list still counted until your next check-in.

The app no longer claims what it cannot know
A check-in the server rejected is no longer shown as successful. And whether your contacts were really notified is now confirmed with the server instead of inferred from your device clock.

A clear word after switching devices
Your security code stays on the old device by design. If the app is restored onto a new one, it now says so plainly - instead of showing protection it can no longer provide.

More reliable alert path
Behind the scenes we reworked the path from your check-in to the message that reaches your contacts. Several situations in which an alert could have failed to go out, or gone out needlessly, are now closed.

Not a replacement for emergency services.

### 1.0.17 — 2026-07-09

Our biggest update yet — a fresh look, a smoother flow, and major reliability improvements under the hood:

• Much stronger offline handling: any check-in, pause, or emergency alert you trigger without a signal is now queued and sent automatically the moment you're back online.
• A hardened alert pipeline, and the app and our server now stay in sync about your protection status — so your contacts are reliably reached.
• A brand-new flip-clock countdown animation.
• CRT scanlines now on both terminal designs (Bunker & Radio Station).
• Smoother onboarding — navigation is always reachable, with a clearer push-notification hint.
• Redesigned Danger Zone screen.
• Solo & extreme-sports athletes are now part of who Swan Signal is built for.
• More reliable subscription recognition on launch, with an improved restore flow.
• Refined contact selection, a cleaner alert tone, and many small fixes.

### 1.0.14 — 2026-06-23

A reimagined emergency flow – and rock-solid reliability:

• New emergency screen: in a real emergency just press and hold to call for help – no code required. Your code is only asked when you stand the emergency down. With an atmospheric transition and sound (matching your skin).

• Resilient on weak signal: check-ins, emergency alerts and all-clears are now delivered automatically as soon as you're back online – even if the app is in the background. A banner shows you when something is still pending.

• Minor improvements and bug fixes.

### 1.0.13 — 2026-06-22

• New: choose your check-in interval – 24 hours (default) or 12 hours, right at the top of Settings.
• Danger Zone now covers short trips too: countdown from 10 minutes (e.g. the walk home or to your car), in fine steps up to 6 hours.
• All-clear and alert emails now reliably follow your app language.
• Stability and polish.

### 1.0.12 — 2026-06-15

New: Choose your terminal!

• A second design, "Radio Station" – the warm amber terminal of a broadcast station, as an alternative to the classic "Bunker," the green terminal deep underground. Switch anytime – from the welcome screen or in Settings.
• Reworked color-blind mode for more distinguishable colors.
• Polished sounds and animations.

"Bunker" stays the default – nothing changes if you love it.
