### 4/5 — Super Premium Spiel

*2019-03-06*

### 3/5 — Great core game, lacks content

*2017-06-20*

Fun twist on Match 3. The playfield is a dungeon map and you can move your character around collecting keys and fighting monsters. But this feels like a prototype. No character progression, only one character, no weapons and very few skills. Doesn't even have rewards for making matches! Each game is a high score run, and once mastered, is pretty easy to accomplish unless you get a string of bad luck. Art is nice and core concept is awesome but needs so much more to make a worthwhile purchase. Swap Sword 2 please!!!

### 3/5 — Disappointed

*2016-12-27*

I'm only giving 3 stars because of how short it is. I loved playing this game! But when it ended after only three levels I was very disappointed.

### 5/5 — Neat and simple

*2016-12-22*

The core mechanic of swapping around is pretty fun, and the strategy feels rewarding for such a simple game. Definitely worth being a time-killer.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2016-12-16*

I really enjoy this game. Love the reimagining of such a played out mechanic. It's fun and challenging. To those who say the game is too short..try beating your own high score. It's easy to breeze through the game if all you want to do is get to the end, but it's so much more rewarding trying to get the most points possible each round. You'll discover how difficult (and fun) it is to finish the game when you do that. I think my only criticism is that for $3 there should be a little more even if it's just cosmetic like different characters. Regardless still a great game and glad I got it.

### 3/5 — Fun and interesting

*2016-12-14*

Great art style, cool sound effects, and the gameplay is snappy. I really like the idea behind it, but I wish it took it further. The game is quite short, and once you beat it all there is to do is try again for a higher score. The randomness of the levels is also a bit uneven at times. Sometimes a level was very easy because so many tiles were lining up on their own. Other times the same level would be much, much harder.

Overall, worth it. Just be don't expect a long game :)

### 5/5 — Great!

### 5/5 — Great game

*2016-12-09, version 1.1*

A little short but awesome job

### 5/5 — Great game!

*2016-12-08, version 1.1*

Watch for the animation when the creatures hatch from eggs.

### 4/5 — Good but short

*2016-12-08, version 1.1*

Fun little roguelike match 3 game but its only got 3 levels apparently. I was expecting the scores to be based more on how long you can survive, rather than just trying to min/max three short levels.

### 3/5 — Nice Game but short

*2016-12-06, version 1.1*

I enjoyed this game. It's a fresh take on the familiar block swap game.

I gave it 3 stars not for the actual game play, which is good and dynamic, but because it's very short and has little to offer in replay-ability. You can finish it during the first play through in about 25 minutes or so.

I don't think Swapsword needs to be more difficult, it just needs more actual game.

Also it needs something to spend the money you gather on? Maybe that's how you could afford the upgrades offered at the end of each level.

### 5/5 — Best swap-3 in a long time

*2016-12-05, version 1.1*

Elegant mechanics. Short, but this encourages high risk/reward play for maximizing your score, which really adds another layer to the game once you've mastered the basic runthrough.

### 1/5 — Grind and get nowhere

*2017-02-18*

Just a frustrating grind to always start over from scratch. Not enjoyable. Progress almost never occurs and it is random at best. Vastly overpriced.

Ugh. Just, Ugh.

...this is not the game you are looking for.

### 1/5 — Meh

*2016-12-04, version 1.1*

It's really not all that.

### 2/5 — Pretty good...

*2020-03-05*

But it could be SO MUCH better!
Pros: The gameplay is addictive and fun, I love most of the sound effects and graphics and it keeps me on my toes! It never gets boring!

Cons: WAY too pricey for what you get, plus It’s not rewarding - at all! No reward for matching 4-5 items, no boosts or power ups to encourage you, and the boosts they DO offer don’t work out very well. There’s only 3 levels and the tutorial could be a little more thorough. Plus, this game WILL make you rage!!!! It’s incredibly frustrating and I hate the sound of being bonked on the head! It gets stressful very quickly!

The cons are more annoying nitpicks that should be fixed more than anything, except for the price! Make it a LOT cheaper or add more levels and rewards! At least update the game once in a while!

### 2/5 — Eh ... ok

*2018-02-02*

An interesting game at first. But quickly breaks its own rules like the fire enemies not counting as enemies for matching. It probably wasn’t worth the $3.

### 2/5 — Cool Concept

*2018-01-09*

The concept is pretty cool and fun, but it really isn't enough in itself to be worth it in my opinion. Would be so much nicer if there was a mode where you could use your coins/score to upgrade your weapons/skills/characters/etc. and some kind of unlocks would make it so much better...

### 2/5 — Not really a fan

*2017-05-15*

I found the game kind of dull and repetitive--a combination that doesn't work. Look elsewhere for match-3 hybrids.

### 2/5 — Save your $

*2017-01-13*

Interesting take on a match 3 style game, but it gets really hard really fast. No permanent upgrades for your characters, making it not really rewarding as you go for how many levels you can pass.

### 2/5 — Way too short. Not worth $3

*2017-01-03*

Beat it in 7 mins. Worth $.99 MAYBE.

### 2/5 — Nice, but Short and Shallow

*2016-12-06, version 1.1*

A good idea that feels underdeveloped. Beat it in under an hour, which is weak for a $2.99 game. Needs depth and breadth--until then it's a half-baked demo. Avoid for now.

### 2/5 — Great concept

*2016-12-04, version 1.1*

If this game were free, it would definitely be a five star game. Unfortunately it felt more like a rip off. The concept, art, and the overall feel of the game is great, but it's so short. I beat the game the second day I got it and there really is not a lot of replayability. This could easily live up to its worth if the developer just added either more levels, characters, and game modes, or just made the game free. As it is, it's nowhere near worth 3$.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome, still works great!

*2023-05-13*

This old game still plays fantastic on my new phone. No issues. Super user friendly UI, and no ads or IAP. Small file size and good on battery.

I don’t agree with other reviews saying it’s too easy or that it lacks content. Strategy and luck have to align just right for you to win. I’ve come close but haven’t won yet.

The brilliance of this game is that it tracks two high scores: a win score, and a death score. So even if you lose, you get a score to try to beat next time. This keeps you motivated.

And once you win, you get a high score to try to beat next time you win. So you don’t need more content, as some are wishing it had. I find this game perfect as is.

And because it saves at all times, you can just make one move if that’s all you have time for. So you’ll find yourself playing a lot here and there. It’s a perfect filler game for any downtime you have. And because it’s not overly long, it’s not daunting to start over.

This is one of those rare perfect games that, old as it is, still looks and works perfectly. I highly recommend this game. It’s a match 3 with light strategy and some luck. Awesome.

### 5/5 — Wirklich angenehm

*2017-05-11*

Ich verstehe nicht, wie ein so gutes, liebevoll gestaltetes und ausgeklügeltes Spiel in den tiefen des App-Store-Kellers versinken kann! Richtig super Spiel!

### 5/5 — Great game

*2017-03-15, version 1.2*

Fantastic spin on the match three genre with beautiful pixel art.

### 5/5 — Addictive Roguelike Swapper

*2017-02-20*

This game is super addictive. Once you beat the game, you realize that the score chase is deep and the strategy is deeper than it first appears. You'll find yourself compulsively playing "just one more run" over and over. This is a perfect bus/train game. I love it!

### 5/5 — Rad innovative match three

*2017-02-20*

Love this game.

### 5/5 — Twist to Match 3

*2017-02-14*

The twist to this matching game creates an experience unlike any other.

### 5/5 — I play this game every day

*2017-02-14*

All of you players that play this to the end and stop are quitters. The true challenge is to beat this game with the highest score on the leaderboard. I'm aiming for #1. I'm coming for u skeletromp

### 5/5 — Gets better with time

*2017-02-02*

The fun in this game comes after the first time you beat it - finding the strategies to get the highest score possible every play through. Great replayability and worth every dollar.

### 5/5 — Super addictive and great replay value

*2017-01-01*

Still playing this a lot. Loving the challenge of pushing for maximum points without taking too much risk and dying ... or ending the levels too early.

### 5/5 — A bit tough, but deep and rewarding.

*2016-12-28*

This game is easy to pick up and play but extremely challenging and incredibly deep. It's a strategy game but it's main mechanic is that of a match 3 which leads to a lot of randomness. That can be tough sometimes but it's polished, fun and addicting. Not to mention amazing art and great SFX!! ;)
