## What is SwaraLab?

Your Carnatic music companion.

SwaraLab brings thalam, Shruthi, Tanpura, guided beginner lessons, a violin tuner and Raga Explorer together on your iPhone or iPad. All practice sounds, lessons and pitch processing run on your device. No account, ads or usage tracking.

SEE AND HEAR YOUR THALAM
Follow animated right-hand gestures, hear each count and adjust the tempo to your pace. Choose Adi, Rupaka, Chapu and Suladi thalams, with supported jathi and 1, 2 or 4 kalai options. Use the simple hand view or add detailed counts and gestures.

FIND YOUR SA
Choose a steady Shruthi or a blended acoustic Tanpura. Select from 12 notes and adjust the reference sound and thalam volumes independently. Start practice restores your reference sound; Pause practice silences both. You can also play Shruthi or Tanpura on its own.

BUILD YOUR FOUNDATION
From Sarali Varisai to Alankarams, a practice companion, with beats and Tanpura. Practise 45 beginner exercises with matching thalams, adjustable tempo, three speeds and a count-in. Follow the swara train or choose a line-by-line highlight. These lessons guide practice; they do not score singing.

TUNE YOUR VIOLIN
Choose your intended Sa and tune the lower or upper Sa and Pa strings. Live pitch guidance shows whether to tune up or down. The microphone audio is processed locally and is not saved or uploaded. Reference sound is silenced while the tuner listens.

New: Recognize the raga!
Sing or play a melodic phrase and see detected swaras and possible raga matches update as you practise. Choose your reference Sa and explore suggestions among 21 supported ragas. Raga suggestions are exploratory and may be uncertain, especially for short phrases or similar ragas. All analysis runs on your device.

KEEP PRACTICING
Audio can continue with the screen locked. Home Screen widgets let you choose a note, switch Shruthi or Tanpura, and play or stop. Choose Quiet, Classic or Retro themes and the hand style you prefer.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your practice settings and playback state stay on your device. SwaraLab has no cloud account or analytics. The microphone is used for the tuner and Raga Explorer only with your permission. Audio is not saved or uploaded. External song links and contacting support require internet access.
