### 3/5 — Just another dating app

*2021-09-13, version 4.1*

I was hopeful that this app would offer something the other awful dating apps wasn’t and be a stand out but turns out it pales in comparison.

It’s new so your matches are not only limited but ones I wouldn't even consider on my worst day. Even if there are ones I might consider I couldn’t tell you because when I go to view them the app shuts down and I can’t see them.

The height is listed as some weird number and I can’t tell you what it means yet so I don’t know how tall anyone is. This might be a me problem but I would rather it just say the actual height this isn’t jeopardy.

Overall, the 3 I gave this app is generous. There’s a lot of work to be done.

### 3/5 — Good so far, but I’m a bit confused.

*2021-03-11, version 3.29.0*

So I just got this app tonight and it seems very promising. Not too aggressive with the “buy our premium” message which is wonderful. However, I am a bit confused about how chats work.
I have replied to several people’s Icebreakers. And I thought the app tutorial told me that it would appear in the Chats section. Perhaps I skipped over some words? Because I do not see my reply to their icebreakers in the Chats, indicating I started the conversation. Do I have to wait back for them to reply to my icebreaker response?

**Developer response:** Hey! Please email us at support@sweetpea.co so we can further assist you.

### 4/5 — Great layout/concept

*2020-08-20, version 3.25.0*

I really like the look of the app and how it functions. The questions are easy to answer, and I really like the way that you can leave comments on the checkbox answers to better clarify your position on certain topics. The potential for meeting some great people seems good. However, there just aren't enough people using the app to really test it out. Maybe if people start using the app a little more I'll be able to update my review.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review! We would love to hear anymore feedback you may have at support@sweetpea.co.

### 3/5 — Too many fake profiles

*2020-08-17, version 3.24.0*

I’ve yet have a actual message from anyone that I’ve “ connected to “ except fake profiles apparently from Texas asking for money 😂 for.. and I don’t get anyone where I’m from, 50 miles away or New York which is about idk 6 hours away.. a lot of fake profiles or woman asking for money.. why can’t I actually find someone real

### 3/5 — The locations and notifications programs

*2020-06-22, version 3.22.0*

This app is alright and all but the problem is why do I have to click on location and notifications to deal with, I don’t understand this, you have to click the location and notifications to start with it I’m like you know what no thanks, so great dating app so far but I don’t like it when it’s location and notifications for that.

### 3/5 — Love the set up, but...

*2020-03-04, version 3.17.0*

My first conversation was with “Anderson” who lived in Anaheim, CA...who worked for a refugee non-profit....no wait....he was a general surgeon who lives in Damascus, Syria....no wait. Very disappointing to be deal with a fake account first thing. I reported “Anderson” and deleted app, but may try again later since I did like the set up, questions, selective matches, etc.

### 3/5 — Dead App Walking

*2019-12-21, version 3.16.1*

This app is just like the others, providing you with no experience whatsoever and full of dead profiles real or not. There is no sense of activity here it feels like a dead empty space which it is but requests from you premium dollars for an opportunity to experience silence.

The premise is great, but it’s just a picture frame with nothing in but a blank canvas. These apps are easy to create. Giving users what they desire is a task none of these developers are up to providing. You deliver money they deliver garbage.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review! We would love to further discuss how we can make the app better, please email us at support@sweetpea.co

### 3/5 — Icebreaker not breaking

*2019-10-29, version 3.15.0*

The icebreaker questions concept, although a good idea, seems too robotic and automatic. You select a question to be featured on the profile and then everybody just sends you their responses (including “yes” and “no”). I don’t like that you don’t get to match first so you at least choose who you want to speak to, instead you go through multiple messages from people that you just not interested in. Didn’t work for me at all.

### 4/5 — Awesome concept!

*2019-10-18, version 3.13.0*

I think the concept this app is built around is pretty cool. I didn’t really connect with anyone it maybe it will be better when more people start joining. I’m a woman looking for a woman though so maybe I just didn’t have any luck because of that, in which case it would help a lot to market it to more lgbt people. But again, it may just not be populated enough yet.

### 3/5 — Has potential!

*2019-10-17, version 3.13.0*

I like the whole concept because it allows me to know a lot more about the guys I’m swiping on. The app is confusing. It feels like there aren’t that many people on it. There are so little swipes in a day. I have to upgrade if I want more. I didn’t really talk to many people. The app does have a lot of potential for people looking for a more serious relationship.

### 5/5 — Refreshing

*2019-10-11, version 3.13.0*

I’ve tried many dating apps in the past (coffee meets bagel, tinder, bumble, hinge, plenty of fish) and probably more in the past and I can say that this one really seems to bring out your personality. The user interface could probably be a little more smooth but I do like the ice breakers. The simple swipe left if uninterested and right if interested is simple enough and similar to the other apps. You only get a few swipes a day which is kind of annoying. In a big city like LA, I feel like you need to increase your numbers game. If they improved user interface and allowed more swipes and they had a lot more users overall, this app would get 5 stars

### 5/5 — So fun!

*2019-10-11, version 3.13.0*

I’ve been trying different social apps lately to meet new people and this one has the best way to showcase myself. Love that you can add stories and the amount of “topics” and “activities” to choose from! The Wingman option is also interesting and fun!

### 5/5 — Effective dating app.

*2019-10-11, version 3.13.0*

I’ve had a great experience on this app. I matched with many people and we’ve had wonderful conversations. What I like is that you can connect the Sweat Pea app to Snapchat, which allow your friends to act as a wing man.

### 5/5 — More real than most

*2019-10-11, version 3.13.0*

This app is a nice change of pace from the usual superficial matches. The people I’ve met seem more genuine than those on Bumble and certainly more than Tinder. The actual app has been improving over time which is nice to see and shows that they’re always working to make it even better. I look forward to finding my person!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t pay

*2021-09-07, version 4.0*

I don’t know what is wrong, devs, but I can’t pay you, so I can’t even get started. Every time I click on the link upgrade, the link closes without doing anything.*** Also, I can’t change my astrological sign. It’s wrong. Fix those things and I will give you a better review.*** There is no About Page so there is no option to delete your account. I do not recommend!

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2021-03-12, version 3.29.0*

Apparently a year ago this app was great because that’s when all of the good reviews are from. It is a terrible app now. Wish I would have paid attention to the other reviews before I signed up. I extended my preferences (including using preferences I don’t really want) but apparently the closest person to me is over 400 miles away, most of them are across country. I get emails saying someone has responded to my conversation starter but I go to the app and nothing shows up. App is also not intuitive. I’ve sent several emails to support and while I heard back, they were no help at all. Think support is doing the bare minimum. Was looking forward to a slightly different format. Don’t waste your time!

**Developer response:** Hey! Please email us at support@sweetpea.co so we can further assist you.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2021-02-02, version 3.28.0*

I signed up and right away got a like. Of course you have to pay to see your likes so I did. That was the only one I got. Not to mention when I get on to see who I might be interested in there’s a choice of 5 women. All of whom weren’t much of a choice. “Come back tomorrow” it says and they’ll have more choices. 5 more! Next day? Same thing! Save your money and go to the local bar and buy drinks for every women in there. You’ll have better luck. At least you’ll get to talk to an actual woman that way.

**Developer response:** Hey! Please email us at support@sweetpea.co so we can further assist you.

### 1/5 — No matches. EVER.

*2020-09-07, version 3.26.0*

I got a few matches early on (like 3), but now NOTHING. Months have gone by with ZERO matches. There is NO option on this app to scroll though some profiles. However, interestingly enough, I get popups from Sweet Pea saying, “communication is key, try sending someone a message”. THERE ARE NO PEOPLE TO SEND MESSAGES TO! have loosened up my profile significantly and still no people to look at. I sent a message to their “help-desk” with these concerns. I got an email back asking me a question. I replied. No response back from them. NO RESOLUTION.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2019-10-13, version 3.13.0*

Dating apps that require you to fill out 1000 questions before they show you potential matches are lame why would I invest so much time when it’s doubtful that anyone even uses this app. At least show us that there is people using this app before making someone fill out so many questions. You could show potential matches then require the questions before interacting with people.

### 1/5 — Sorry.

*2019-07-24, version 3.8.0*

So I decided to try this app because I read nothing but good things from it. It worked for 2 days. Than I was not getting any matches or suggestions or what ever they call them. I uninstalled the app. And tried again. Nothing. I even emailed support. Nothing. So. Wow. I feel so good about myself now. For 4 days nothing. My suggestion. Don’t even bother. Because if you don’t pay for it, they won’t be bothered to send you anything. At least that’s how I am taking it.

### 1/5 — Does anyone actually use this app?

*2019-04-11, version 3.6.0*

I feel like I’m sending messages into an e-blackhole. I haven’t gotten any replies, and there’s no way to see on a profile if someone has been active or not. Also it’s so glitchy - I’ll swipe to the left if I’m not interested and then they get added back to my pile again. Makes me wonder if the matches I’m send messages to actually get the messages, or if they are added back to the pile too. Junk. The premise sounded nice but it’s just not great at all.

### 2/5 — It’s Ok!

*2019-06-13, version 3.8.0*

This app kinda reminds me of clover and okcupid.
I was having a bit of a hard time because that were showing the same people that were near me no matter where I put the distance it was the same thing and it was getting annoying. I had to wait a long time for my pic to be loaded it was a lot of lagging going on. But maybe it was my device and will work for you. So try it out for yourself.

### 2/5 — Just another version of CoffeeMeetsBagel

*2019-03-28, version 3.6.0*

At first I was intrigued by the app being that there hasn’t been a new/fresh dating app in awhile and the reviews sounded promising but once I set up my account and realized they have the limited swipes per day I was annoyed. I had tried that method through the coffee meets bagel app and deleted it within a week. Here I am the following day an hour after 12pm (when my potential matches are supposed to be refreshed every day) and the app is telling me to come back later. Disappointing 🤦🏽‍♀️

### 3/5 — More thoughtful than some alternatives. Indie. Buggy

*2022-03-29, version 4.6*

PROs • Seems to be largely spam-free! • Reasonable functionality for free • Less shallow than super swipe-based apps … • Not owned by Match Group! CONs • Buggy! I even have to quit the app & relaunch to go back after tapping in the Discover section and now I have a red dot even tho I have zero messages after someone apparently unmatched us. • Unpolished interface: Lots of people have icebreakers that cut off and can’t be read in their entirety, for example; and the Discover section UI is misleading, showing irrelevant avatar thumbnails

It’s so buggy I’ve given up using it. Very disappointing

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Useful app

*2019-10-30, version 3.15.0*

This is a great app to meet friends and/or potential dates. Other apps just do not have quality people on them. This one seems to match up with more quality people who have the same values and interests. Have saved a lot of time with this app by weeding out all the shallow guys who I have nothing in common with. Would highly recommend using this.

### 5/5 — I wish more people used this app

*2019-10-29, version 3.15.0*

So i decided to play around in this app and see what it’s about. This is a nice way to connect to find friends, relationship or marriage. I really wish more people used this app bcos there were only a few matches sent to me, of which most of them were 600 miles to 3000 miles away from me. I do like that there’s all these questions being asked about you, to break the ice away and make bonding with your potential match easier! You’re also allowed to customize your ice breaker question, or to tag a topic. Oh, and you can add a wingman (friends to vouch for you) through Snapchat, which is totally cool!

### 5/5 — Fun and easy to use

*2019-10-28, version 3.15.0*

I always like to try unique and different things when it comes to dating or even socially. Everyone used the same apps but when I was introduced to this app I figured it was new and different why not try.

Glad I did. Never thought the intellectual perspective would be the best way to meet people but it’s been the best way I’ve met people thank you.

### 5/5 — More natural

*2019-10-23, version 3.14.0*

This app takes some of the awkwardness out of talking to strangers on a dating site. Overall, I think the connections are more organic and you end up with people who are consistent (instead of complete oddballs with whom you have no chemistry) irl. Higher quality people than tinder.

### 5/5 — Better than Tinder

*2019-10-17, version 3.13.0*

I like Sweet Pea because it allows you to actually engage in a real conversation with real people. I feel like half the people on tinder are either scams or people just trying to promote their social media. With Sweet Pea, you don’t have to spend extra time and work to weed through all of the fake accounts. Would highly recommend Sweet Pea to people who actually want to meet real people.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2019-10-13, version 3.13.0*

I like how you can really go in depth with picking preferences and options to narrow down what you are looking for. I feel this really helps weed certain people out and create space for the right person to come along.

### 5/5 — Unlike Other Apps

*2019-10-12, version 3.13.0*

Sweet Pea is great. It’s nice to see a match’s preferences (drinking, smoking, religion, interests, family, etc) right away. The ice breaker questions also make starting a conversation so much easier. However, the best part is seeing people’s interaction percentage. It helps me know that I’m not being ignored, someone just may not be active on the app!

### 5/5 — Finally an app with useful dating information

*2019-10-12, version 3.13.0*

I love that this Sweet Pea allows you to protect your location without charging you. Another perk is that it ask you guided questions and allows you to select from a potential dating pool that matches your interest. Did I mention it’s free to go back to the last person that you bypassed and you can block people. Sweet Pea is everything that a dating app should be. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

### 5/5 — Great dating app

*2019-10-11, version 3.13.0*

I’ve tried other dating apps in the past, and this one is my favorite. There’s a lot of nice people on this app that actually want to have a conversation. I feel like this is the app that’ll actually work for me. Excited to see whats in store.

### 5/5 — Cool new app to meet friends or more

*2019-10-11, version 3.13.0*

This app is really cool took me just a couple minutes to create and active my account. It offers a great opportunity to meet new people and communicate in a safe environment. I definitely recommend giving it a try, the more people the better. Plus with the tools in the app you’ll find so many ways to interact.
