### 4/5 — Great live monitoring for HRV and stress

*2019-10-15, version 1.5.0*

I’ve been using a few HRV apps with polar chest strap for over a month now. I love SweetBeat for seeing live monitoring of several things at once including HR, HRV, stress. However, the recommendations it gives me after analyzing my data are totally different then how I feel or how my 4 other HRV apps analyze the data—all running at the exact same time. It also is the only one that says my parasympathetic system is active when my other apps say it’s severely not active at all (I have dysautonomia and am finding what works for my systems to have more PNS activity when needed than SNS activity, and I track and graph PEM for pacing with myalgic encephalomyelitis.) I would imagine those tracking fitness or managing stress, can also use accurate info about their ANS. I definitely wish I could turn off the “you should do x, y, or z today.” The “gas tank needle” graphic indicating ANS balance has been way off compared to my other apps running at same time. I love that it has a non-annoying HR alarm (a little whistle) but I wish it would continue to sound until the HR was back lower—Would love having option to fully customize HR zones and HR alarm (like keep alerting until HR is back under threshold.) Custom HR color zones would be extra great. I really need it to be iPad screen size. Thank you for taking my suggestions and for making this app.

### 2/5 — So-so but has potential

*2019-08-10, version 1.4.6*

I have been trying several different apps to monitor HRV for meditation and recovery. There is potential in this one, I especially like that you could get info on the LF/HF beats.

Still, the app is buggy. When scrolling through the information report, the app had much difficultly switching from one screen to the next.

Also, there is no instant RR heart rate graph, a wonderful and necessary feature if you are trying to use the app for biofeedback.

The breath pacer does not have any options to change the resonance pace (at least none that are obvious).

In short, I would say save your money on this one until it really competes with the other apps.

### 4/5 — Great hrv app.

*2018-06-03, version 1.4.3*

Although sometimes buggy software, the support team is very responsive and will help find a workaround. I like the hrv for training, but find the stress calculation to have little to no correlation with my actual stress levels. I'm not sure that the correlation and food features are very reliable or provide any value to me, i find the presentation of information slightly confusing after studying lf power, hf power, ratio and relation to stress, and comparing the measured values with how i feel. I feel that the main thing i can conclude is that we are rapidly developing knowledge in a fairly immature region of health and wellness.

### 3/5 — Solid App for tracking HRV

*2018-06-01, version 1.4.3*

I don’t use the all functions on the app, but it works well for tracking my HRV and has helped pull my average from around 67 to 75. However, when I use my desktop to view my progress, it doesn’t work. I’d still recommend for others just for HRV tracking.

### 4/5 — Design needs improvement

*2018-02-02, version 1.4.3*

This app is great because it makes looking at LF/HF so much easier than other HRV apps.

But the design makes user experience very difficult. For example after you take a reading, to move through all the graphs you have click small radio buttons at the bottom of the screen that are nearly impossible to hit accurately. Could easily make a swipe functionality to move through charts.

### 4/5 — Stress alerts are great!

*2017-11-21, version 1.4.3*

As someone with MECFS and POTS this is a game Changer.

I’m having some issues currently trying to run sweet beat on my iPhone 6 running iOS 11.1.1, I enjoy running it all day hooked up my Polar H10 chest strap.
My phone alerts me when I get into the Red zone.
Although it often just closes after 3-4 hours, sometimes 1-2. I then often don’t noticed for an hour or so, and have to
continually check the app.
I also run Heart Graph in the background doing a very similar thing. That app runs in the background all day, no problem.

### 4/5 — Could have a better graphical interface with iPad

*2017-08-17, version 1.4.3*

I love this app, works pretty well, I use it every day but the graphical interface is from the iPhone app so they should refine it to fit the iPad screen correctly.

### 4/5 — 8/10 well done and always updated

*2017-07-13, version 1.4.3*

Sweetbeat HRV stands out from the other HRV apps, in that it has more features and focuses on accuracy and consistency. There are others that are good and free. But if you want the very best you found it.

### 3/5 — Good but ugly

*2017-04-17, version 1.3.10*

I'm sure many people have not purchased this app because of the way it looks, which is a shame, because its a good app. I hope the developer will consider updating to look of the app, remove all the naf gaudy images and horrendous colours. Keep it simple, pick a simple colour palette and stick with it throughout the app. The same applies to the website, it look like a site from the 90's all it needs to complete the look is some low res spinning gifs and a visit counter.

### 4/5 — Food sensitivity reading issue

*2017-03-29, version 1.3.10*

So far I really like the app, however when doing the food sensitivity testing, the button to take your pulse doesn't seem to show.
I might be missing some step, but it showed up one time as a button and then didn't.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2017-03-07*

Very useful

### 4/5 — Use it every day

*2017-01-09, version 1.3.9*

Colourful graphs, LF HF real time stress data, ability to download sessions to excel, friendly & prompt replies to enquiries. Can be used concurrently with other apps

### 4/5 — Needs better audio

*2017-01-08, version 1.3.9*

Good functionality. Audio for the breathing guide is unpleasant and not distinct enough to guide very well. The sounds are too similar and I find the sound of the heart beat stress inducing. I'm a neurotic mess, but that's who most needs this app so having gentle distinct tones would be way better. Nothing high-pitched with a lot of "attack". The Pranayama app does amazing sound design for their breathing guide. It crashed a lot and there's no monitoring so this app is much more advanced in some ways but way less in sound design. I also just got the Coherence Heart Trainer app by Complete Coherence. Nice simple interface, great data, but no audio guide at all on the breathing. Was surprised as it's an otherwise professional presentation

### 5/5 — Love the session scores at a glance

*2017-01-07, version 1.3.9*

Great improvement to a solid app, adding the session scores at a glance in the history section. Thanks for the improvement. I am encouraged that SweetBeatHRV will continue to think of ways to make their app easier to use. Thank you!

### 5/5 — SweetBeat=GreatApp

*2016-12-31, version 1.3.8*

I've been using this app for over a year and am extremely pleased. Syncing with my Polar H7 was a breeze and the combo has worked flawlessly. The HRV has really helped me to negotiate through some setbacks due to overtraining (experienced prior to experimenting with HRV). I've tried other apps and the thing that has really set SweetBeat apart from the others for me is the insight into the sympathetic/parasympathetic nervous system. Other apps only scratch the surface where SweetBeat provides real information that can be used in understanding your personal stress picture and learning how to better manage it. Additionally, support has been tremendous. I have reached out for a couple of issues over the time I've been using the app. Each time I have been personally contacted and assisted. This has been very positive in itself but has also allowed me to learn how passionate and enthusiastic the team is for the app and how it brings the science behind HRV to people in a useful way.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Really Disappointed

*2023-04-19, version 2.2*

I have been using SweetBeat for almost a year and would have highly recommended. I have kept the older version on my phone as i wasn’t keen on the new changes. This morning when i went to take my readings the newer version had automatically uploaded and due to the oversizing issues not bring ironed out for iphone SE the app is no longer useable. Hugely disappointed. I have a mini ipad which the app is also useless. Avoid if you have these devices!

### 1/5 — Upgrade is trash

*2021-07-05, version 1.6.0*

Since I did the software upgrade that was recommended recently the app no longer functions. I cannot see any of my of hrv's and when I take a new reading it shows everything but the hrv.

### 1/5 — Won’t pair, no response from company. Buyer beware.

*2020-12-10, version 1.5.0*

Despite claims that this works with the Withings HR, it won’t pair with the watch. To make matters (much) worse, emails to Sweetbeat asking for assistance or a refund have thus far gone unanswered. I’ll keep trying to get my money back. Buyer beware!

### 1/5 — Scammed

*2019-11-19, version 1.5.0*

Almost nothing worked , app insisted I buy redundant hardware, the few charts that actually worked with my Apple watch were unreadable and a joke. Would have enjoyed lighting $10 on fire more....

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2018-07-11, version 1.4.3*

Bought the app only to find out that it requires a heart rate monitor unlike the Heart Rate app, which uses the phone’s camera. I want my money back!

### 1/5 — Lohnt sich nicht.

*2016-07-15*

Misst die HRV, gibt aber keine Empfehlungen zum Training
Die Alternativen sond da besser

### 1/5 — Useles to Me

*2016-05-19, version 1.3.5*

Tried to sign up and would not accept identical passwords even when one letter. Could not click "agree to terms and conditions" and when skipping this it could not find my Garmin HRM. Tried looking for support on app but no email address for help so this review. In off for a run before I get too stressed trying to get this app to work. Perhaps that's the plan?

### 1/5 — Useless

*2016-03-22, version 1.3.4*

If you listen to fitness pod casts do not fall for the hype, this app is terrible, it is not at all intuitive to use and looks like it was designed by a 3 year old. HRV monitoring is useful but this app is not and its $9.99!!! Just use elite HRV or other HRV apps

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2015-10-24, version 1.3.4*

Offers nothing above elite hrv, which is free

### 1/5 — Does not work with iOS 9

*2015-10-13, version 1.3.3*

Really disappointed with this. Won't sync with Polar H7 despite other HRV apps having no issue. Customer support has been completely nonresponsive. App needs to be removed until fixed. Had high hopes for this; instead they take your money and don't tell you the app is broken. I've filed a complaint with Sweetwater Health and Apple. Ughh. Do not buy. (iPhone 6+, iOS 9.0.2)

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Superb app

*2025-01-16, version 2.6*

I have been using SweetBeat for many years now. I tried other HRV apps along the way but I find SweetBeat superior in almost every way. Nothing gimmicky just good solid - and extensive - data. I love that the focus is data - everything I could wish for including HF, LF, and even VLF (which adds another dimension). Also extras like respiration rate & heart accelerating and decelerating capacity. Beautiful graphics and fantastic support from SweetBeat if needed. Thank you for a really great app that has helped me enormously and made my life better.

### 5/5 — The Best

*2025-01-03, version 2.6*

I love this app, use it almost every day. It has so much data but thoughtfully broken out onto various screens so the amount of information is never overwhelming but still easily accessible. This app is a real service to the community.

### 5/5 — Spitze!!

*2024-07-30*

Zwei Dinge verstehe ich hier nicht!

### 5/5 — Now working with 7th gen iPod touch

*2023-05-05, version 2.2*

SweetBeatHRV has been a game changer in allowing me to manage/rebuild my functional level with my MCS. The amazing support team worked with the app until it worked on my 7th gen ipod. Such a treat. Love the updates, especially adding the real time . Many thanks for your hard work.

### 5/5 — There’s a reason why this isn’t free

*2023-01-28, version 2.2*

I have used most if not all of the available hrv apps and this is without doubt, in my opinion, head and shoulders above them all. Not only does it offer a user friendly interaction, it also provides more technical content for those that are interested. The people at SweetBeat are experts in this field and it’s apparent that they have invested a lot of time in researching this subject, as well a developing an algorithm that effectively presents very accurate usable data. I especially commend their artefact removal (ectopic beats) as this was always an issue for me in other apps. Absolutely well done team! Please continue your superb work! Ps I was offered a free copy of this app, but declined in favour of paying; it’s that good.

### 5/5 — Great app and excellent support

*2019-09-25, version 1.4.6*

I’ve used several devices to track HRV, including the Oura ring, Whoop etc. I still prefer this app over the others for deeper HRV metrics. Plus their support team is excellent and go out of their way to help with any questions.

### 5/5 — The best HRV for iOS

*2019-03-25, version 1.4.5*

I have literally tried all the hrv monitors offered. This is by far the best one. Although it could be improved ascetically, it provides the most in-depth and meaningful information.

### 5/5 — Excellent and reliable

*2019-01-31, version 1.4.4*

One of the best in the market. Have been using it for years. I love the heart recovery feature no other app offers it and it’s a great fitness indicator. I highly recommend it.

### 5/5 — Great HRV app

*2018-04-11*

I have tried a lot of HRV apps and for me this is still the best - especially with regard to its provision of the raw data in a clear and full way. Accurate, reliable and simple to use.

### 5/5 — Best in class

*2017-04-17, version 1.3.10*

Tried a few different apps for this function. Yes it takes a separate heart strap. It seems to be the same app as the Ben greenfield and bulletproof hrv monitors which is weird but hey. I bet they all work.
