SwellMap Boat is based on our popular website SwellMap.co.nz providing you with the latest marine weather predictions for hundreds of boating and fishing locations across New Zealand.

SwellMap forecasts are highly accurate and reliable. Forecasts are generated using the latest atmospheric and oceanographic numerical models providing updated information four times daily.

SwellMap provides the following features:

- 7 day sea and wind forecast graphs to make interpreting the boating conditions ahead easy.
- SwellMap boat ratings.
- Detailed daily forecasts providing ratings, summaries, sea height, sea direction, swell height, swell direction, swell period, chop height, tides, wind, gusts, sea temperature, sunset and sunrise. 
- Forecast maps of rain/pressure, temperature, wind, wave height, wave period and sea temperature.
- Save your favourite spot forecasts.
- Alerts providing you with notifications when locations are forecasted to match your preferred boating conditions.

For an advert free experience of the app you can purchase a monthly subscription. Payment will be charged to iTunes account at confirmation of purchase.

Subscription will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the current cost of the renewal.

Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's account settings on their iPhone/iPad after purchase.

Was good but then too many adds now it’s impossible to even use. Deleted.

Usually the most reliable app however the Ads are now present everytime you open a page and they can’t be closed — at all, meaning you have to close the app and try again for another ad to play. Has made it borderline unuseable.

Checked forecast in the morning to go fishing. At 7:10am when I looked, the latest forecast was from 10:02pm the night before. I would have thought a boating forecast app would have an updated morning forecast. This app has been heading in the wrong direction. Jan 6th - now I attempt to open app on iPad and it just says “retrieving locations”, but never does. Unable to use at all!

I’ve paid for the subscription to get rid of ads but am finding the forecasts update much less frequently than the web version (e.g. web version updated at 4:11pm, and app not since 10:11am) - is this a bug or a feature?

Often wrong and I end up comparing to other apps like windy to get a more consistent result and it is so full of adds that block the whole screen that you can’t get rid of and often have to close the app to remove. Just like I am going to do to this app 👋

Looks like a great app. But the ads are dreadful. Very happy to pay subscription and I have done so. Just a pity that it cannot be activated and the ads removed. The restore button (if you can call that a button) does nothing.

Not sure why, but the forecasts are not up to date like the website. They can old by half a day or more, and i cannot rely upon this app.  I use the SwellMap website now.
