## What is Swellwise?

Some apps show you forecasts. Swellwise treats the ocean like the main attraction.

A live wave-height map covers every ocean on Earth — the same NOAA physics model the big surf sites run on, refreshed every hour with the estimate that's valid right now. Tap any patch of water and get the full picture: combined height, period and direction, wind, and every individual swell train, from long-period groundswell to local wind chop.

Real NOAA buoys are drawn right on the map as ground truth. Tap one for live observations — wave height, period, water temperature, wind, and the observed swell split — with a three-day interactive history that keeps refreshing while you watch.

Then there's the part no model can give you: eyes on the water. Anyone at the coast can log what the waves are actually like — glassy, hollow, blown out, crowded — in ten seconds, anonymously. Reports can only be submitted from the water's edge, which is what keeps them honest. Each report carries the weather at that moment and stays on the map for 24 hours. Your own reports live in your private logbook forever.
