### 1/5 — Registration doesn’t work

*2020-09-09, version 1.0.8*

My county suggested to download this app for emergency updates. During registration process it’s suppose to send a 4-digit code to your phone or email. Takes about 12 hours for the code to be sent to you and by the time you enter it to complete the registration process, the code has expired. I’ve tried this a few times but same thing. Irony is, how effective and efficient is this alert system if it can’t even get the registration process code sent to you in less than a minute. Garbage app!!! Waste of my time.

### 1/5 — Does not work at all

*2020-09-07*

Cannot register get to the address then a map pops up I click next and nothing. Won’t go past the map. Tried many times. On an iPhone 11

### 1/5 — Registration error

*2020-08-07*

I tried to download this as instructed by San Bernardino county so I can get emergency evacuations alerts. I couldn’t finish the registration process because the screen where you select your house on the map- it won’t let me click Next to move on to the next part of the process. When I tried to login again it said I wasn’t registered. I wish emergency alert systems didn’t rely on defective apps to send you alerts.

### 1/5 — Difficult and confusing to setup

*2020-06-25, version 1.0.8*

Terrible app .. not even sure if it’s setup correct. Thought I would get information about COVID-19 but I have no idea what I will get from this app.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work waste of time

*2020-01-07*

My local sheriffs department recommended this app on their website but when I sign up it says no service in my area😂 total waste of time!

### 1/5 — Devours battery

*2019-11-22*

Not sure if it’s because I’m traveling away from home but in the last 6 hours this one app consumed 80% of my battery while I slept. Clearly needs to be updated

**Developer response:** Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. This is likely the result of the Location Services functionality on your particular phone. We recommend that you set Location Services to the "while using the app" option. Also, you can feel free to close the app completely after use. You will still continue to receive alerts and push notifications with the app closed.

### 1/5 — No subscriptions?!?

*2019-10-30, version 1.0.8*

I live in the Los Angeles area and this app says no subscription available. I search cities and NOTHING comes up. Totally useless! Deleting.

### 1/5 — Won’t work

*2019-10-28*

Try to resister and stops then have to do it again stops
Close app and try log in to finish won’t even work

Not able to be used on ios13.2

**Developer response:** I'm sorry you're experiencing an issue with the Swift911 Public App. In order to log into the app, you need to register successfully. We would recommend that you close the app completely, reopen it, and then try to register again. If you still are having issues, please reach out to your town or municipality and they can sign you up to receive alerts. Thank you.

### 1/5 — Never received an alert

*2019-09-04, version 1.0.8*

Dorian has been ongoing for many days and haven’t received any alerts from CEMA or Swift.

### 1/5 — No Preference Settings

*2019-08-06*

I get 2 calls, 2 texts, and and an email every time a notice goes out. I do not want this. Do not call me- ever- let alone 2x. Users should be able to choose how they want to be notified about non-emergency matters. My community uses this service to notify residents of all kinds of events: National Night Out, street closures, etc. Those types of things do NOT require multiple points of contact. Without preferences the application is a nuisance and will be deleted.

**Developer response:** Hi there - I'm sorry you're experiencing an issue with the frequency of alerts. The frequency of alerts and types of alerts that are sent via the Swift911 Public app are determined by your town/county/municipality. We recommend that you review the lists you are currently subscribed to in order to ensure you are subscribed to all the lists that you want to receive alerts for. If you only want to receive text messages moving forward, please visit your municipality's website and find the Swift911 web portal. Here you will be able to unsubscribe from receiving phone calls. I hope this is helpful. Thank you!

### 1/5 — Not Helpful

*2019-07-14*

Just went through an actual chemical-based emergency in my area - only received 1 initial alert on primary cell / then nothing else - when we had multiple ‘shelter in place’ orders during 2 days. Even when all my info is correct. Thank goodness for local news app update. Disappointed this system fell short.

**Developer response:** Hi there - The frequency of alerts and types of alerts that are sent via the Swift911 Public app are determined by your town/county/municipality. We recommend that you review the lists you are currently subscribed to in order to ensure you are subscribed to all the lists that you want to receive alerts for. If you have any questions regarding these alerts, we suggest that you contact your town/county/municipality directly.

### 1/5 — Waste of an app

*2019-05-15*

The app forces you to pick one city and states that you can add several cities and your county later under add subscriptions. I live in an area that has several small cities right next to each other and would like info on them as well as my county. After over 47 min of searching it still hasn’t given me the option to add anything else. This is the EMERGENCY app that my county chooses to use and I am not able to gain full benefit from it. Ridiculous

**Developer response:** Hi - I'm sorry you're experiencing difficulty with the Swift911 Public App. The smaller cities in your area may not be SwiftReach customers, or have lists publicly available for subscription. However, by signing up for alerts from your county and any additional lists that they offer, you have signed up to receive important information from your county directly. If you have any questions about the alerts or types of alerts, we would suggest that you reach out to your county. Have a nice day!

### 1/5 — No option for text only

*2019-03-16*

No option is offered in the app for text only notifications. Nor is it offered via my municipality website Lin to Swift911. No information on level of alerts or what they are for (amber?, weather? Severe weather?, severe weather warning? or severe weather watch?) No option to choose which alerts you prefer.
Clunky at best

**Developer response:** Hi - I'm sorry you're experiencing an issue with the Swift911 Public App. The Swift911 portal is typically found on a municipality's website. On the portal there is an UNSUBSCRIBE from Phone Calls option available that will allow you to only receive text alerts going forward. Can you let us know which municipality you're associated with? As for the type of alerts, while we do provide suggestions, the content and subject matter is entirely in the hands of the municipality. I would recommend contacting your municipality if you have any questions regarding the types of alerts they send out.

*2018-08-17, version 1.0.8*

### 1/5 — Can’t register

### 1/5 — Cant even get past registering.

*2021-05-24, version 1.0.8*

2nd time trying this app. Too bad. Seems like a great concept.

### 1/5 — Hacked

*2021-05-07, version 1.0.8*

This App so called updated on my devices a few days ago on 05/02/2021. Upon rechecking this App on description it says it updated 2 years ago. However I was alerted on 05/02/2021 App was in need of update. Today is when I see last update was 2 years ago. Complaint filed on 05/07/2021 version update 3 years ago!

### 1/5 — Doesn't work well

*2021-01-31, version 1.0.8*

I signed up on this app to get updates on Weather, COVID-19 vaccinations, etc. I don't get the updates.

### 1/5 — Can’t continue after address.

*2020-09-20*

After I put my address in, it goes to the map which is correct. Hit next and nothing happens. Tried several times.

### 1/5 — Stupid app that won't register or let you login

*2020-09-15, version 1.0.8*

It got stuck on the map asking to show where I live. Stupid shot app!

### 1/5 — What pin?

*2020-09-10, version 1.0.8*

It tells me to move a pin to my exact location on a map but there’s no pin and no help button so I am unable to proceed and set myself up.

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2019-10-21*

I very much ch appreciate the warnings and phone calls!

**Developer response:** Hi - Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you're enjoying the Swift911 Public App.

### 4/5 — Works well

*2021-01-12*

This system has been adopted by my county and by the city and towns in the county. Much of the information is not immediately useful to me, like when a water main breaks 20 miles away. However, sometimes it’s invaluable, like when the county health department had opened up some new vaccination slots, and I could nail one down quickly. The interface is a bit clunky, and it’s the municipality which gets to decide how the contacts are made, but overall, I am glad to have a timely source of information which may be critical.

### 3/5 — Only need one form of notification

*2017-11-09*

Overall, it is nice to get notifications. I don't like that it calls and texts me. I only need the text message, not both. There is nowhere in settings to limit notifications to text messages only. I got the app for weather alerts when I found out the city sirens can't be heard where I live. Most alerts tend to be for missing people and normally they are found shortly after the notification.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your response. I'm glad you like receiving the notifications. The municipality can select the channels they wish to use to send messages. However, if you want to only receive text messages, visit the login screen to the Swift911 portal on your municipality's website. There is an 'unsubscribe' area for you to unsubscribe from receiving emails and phone calls. If you have any questions, please contact us at support@swiftreach.com. Thank you.

### 3/5 — Can't get registration code!

*2017-09-15, version 1.0.8*

I tried multiple times to register, but I never receive the text verification code. What's up??

REVIEW UPDATE (9/14/17): The app developer responded and correctly indicated that I would now be able to obtain a registration code. There has not yet been any activity to test the app, but when there is, I will provide another update. So for now, I appreciate the help and temporarily upgraded my rating to 3 stars, pending successful operation of this potentially very helpful app. THANK YOU!

### 2/5 — Terrible

*2024-01-19*

This app doesn’t work. It signs me out even though I have it set to keep me signed in. If I reboot my phone it reloads and all my subscriptions load. However after about an hour they disappear and it says I have no subscriptions. It’s terrible.

### 2/5 — Keeps logging me out

*2023-03-21*

App keeps logging me out so when I get a notification and click it, the app opens but there’s no messages and I have to log out and back in.

### 2/5 — Poorly designed!

*2020-08-08*

I can find no way to make it work .. I am a graduate engineer. Very sad! I’ve never received an alert through it.

### 2/5 — Nice concept, but app alerts refuse to work

*2019-01-13*

I like this app, however it has a huge problem. I get a mobile alert and everytime a click on it to see it, it says there is no new n alerts listed. If this is fixed, I would be 5 star happy. Without it being fixed, there really isnt a reason to have it.

**Developer response:** I'm sorry you're experiencing an issue. Based on your feedback, it appears as if you may have registered to receive weather alerts from a county/municipality and they forgot to check a particular setting when they set up the alert. Can you share the name of the county/municipality you're receiving alerts from? We can reach out and correct this.

### 2/5 — Emergencies Only??

*2017-05-19, version 1.0.6*

Overall, I real like this app. It has given us critical information at times it is really needed. I was very disappointed this morning when I was alerted. Thinking there was an emergency near me, I picked up my phone and was angered to see that a local county entity was in need of a dozen operator? Seriously?! This should be for emergencies only! Seriously thinking about deleting app.
