## What is Swiftbite?

I built Swiftbite to make real food tracking fast and friendly. Scan a barcode, snap a photo or type a quick note and the app estimates the meal for you. The daily dashboard shows calories and macros at a glance. Charts reveal trends so you learn what works. Search is powerful and finds nutrition for a huge range of foods. You can reuse favorites and set simple automations for your routine. Swiftbite supports English and Dutch, and it syncs with Apple Health or Health Connect. The best part: everything is free. No paywalls. No ads.

• Log in seconds. Scan barcodes, capture labels or snap a meal. AI estimates portions and macros. Edit on the spot.
• Find more, faster. AI search pulls nutrition from the web and from your history. Favorites and recents are one tap away.
• See what matters. A clean daily dashboard for calories and macros. Charts show trends over days and weeks so progress is clear.
• Built for your routine. Save go-to meals, duplicate entries and set simple automations for breakfasts or workouts. Less tapping, more living.
• Respect for your data. Sync with Apple Health or Health Connect if you want. No ads, no paywalls.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### v1.12.3 — 2026-04-19

This new release upgrades some dependencies and introduces a new maintenance mode for on going issues!

### v1.12.0 — 2026-02-02

This update includes a bunch of small UX improvements, such as double-tapping home to reset the date and automatically switching back to today if the app hasn’t been used in 15 minutes.
I also added illustrations to the homepage, moved repeats into settings, and introduced a favorites overview. On top of that, I did some housekeeping, removed old tracking code, renamed pages, and cleaned up a few other things!

### v1.11.3 — 2026-01-27

This minor release of Switchbites switches the analytics platform from Plausible to PostHog. Hopefully, this will allow me to roll out more useful (and wanted) features!

### v1.11.2 — 2026-01-25

This release of Swiftbite fixes some small bugs, like the week selector not working in the new year, adds the ability to preview the future, adds some extra analytics‑tracking functionality, and includes backend improvements.

### v1.11.1 — 2025-12-01

This latest release of Swiftbite includes a few bug fixes, but the main feature is that I’ve implemented notifications! When you start the new version of the app it will ask for permission to show notifications. If you accept this, you can expect daily reminders for 4 days, but only if you haven’t added anything to your diary yet. If you still don’t use the app after those reminders, we’ll leave you be and stop sending notifications until you use the app again, to respect your time and your notifications drawer!
