## What is Swiftly Player?

Swiftly plays the films on your Jellyfin server just as they are.

Most apps have the server rebuild a film while you're watching. Swiftly leaves it alone — and tells you beforehand that it will. If something ever does have to be converted, you'll see which part of the file was responsible.

Picture in Picture is built in, so a film can carry on in the corner while you get on with something else.

RESUME ON THIS DEVICE

Something playing on the Apple TV turns up as a button on your iPhone. One tap and it carries on here, at the second you left it. It works in every direction between iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.

SERVERS AND ACCOUNTS

Add more than one Jellyfin, stay signed in to all of them, and switch from your profile without typing a password again.

DOWNLOADS

Take episodes and films with you. Swiftly downloads the original file, so what you watch offline is the same quality as what you stream.

Swiftly brings no films of its own — it simply shows what's already on your server. And it collects nothing: no analytics, no advertising, no account with us. Your viewing position goes to your server and nowhere else.

You'll need a Jellyfin server of your own, 10.8 or newer, on a secure (https) address, and an iPhone or iPad with iOS 18.

• After your third finished title, Swiftly asks once for a rating.
• Skip Intro, Skip Recap and Next Episode appear on their own over the video, without opening the controls.
• When your server knows where the credits start, Next Episode fills up and starts the next episode by itself.

• Subtitles are off by default. Only forced subtitles come on by themselves.
• Your audio and subtitle choices are remembered for the whole show or movie.
• Audio tracks read like "German · AAC · 5.1".
• Posters stay cached after restarting the app.

FIXED

• The time jumps to the new spot right away when you skip.
• External subtitle files (.srt, .ass) show up.
• Pressing Next Episode twice no longer starts it twice, and closing the player during the switch stops playback.
• The timeline no longer freezes when the server is slow, and pausing shows up on the server right away.
• After an episode, the series page shows your progress right away, and an episode opens its own season.
• Quick Connect keeps waiting when the connection drops, and errors read as plain sentences.
• Resume on this Device picks up exactly where the other device stopped.
• Double-tapping to skip no longer flashes the controls.
• On iOS 18, the home screen no longer bounces up and down after you sign in.
• Movie pages scroll smoothly instead of stuttering.
• Old DVD rips play smoothly instead of dropping frames.
• Large libraries keep loading past the first 60 titles.
• Pressing play while a title is still loading no longer leaves it paused.

• People. Tap a name in the cast and you land on their page: birthday, biography, and everything of theirs your server holds.
• A second server. Add another Jellyfin, stay signed in to both, and switch accounts from your profile.
• Your home screen in your order. Turn rows off, move them around, put genres in as rows or as chips along the top.
• Genre pages behind those chips.
• Recent searches.
• Quick Connect codes copy with one tap.

CHANGED

• Resume on this Device sits next to your profile picture, so you catch it on any page instead of only the home screen.
• That badge no longer borrows the colour your progress bars use. One colour for two meanings made both of them vague.
• Descriptions arrive clean, with no stray HTML in the middle of a plot summary.
• A header with no artwork falls back: a series borrows the still from your next episode, everything else its poster.
• A soft glow sits behind the top of the home screen.

FIXED

• Progress on tiles now does what the switch says. It had never done anything at all.
• Search no longer opens the wrong title when a server lists the same thing twice.
• Episodes you mark as watched stay marked when you go back a screen.
• Twenty-three labels that were still German in the English app now read English.
