SwingDNA analyses your golf swing using video, Apple Watch and iPhone sensors, then identifies the tour professional whose publicly-documented swing characteristics most resemble yours, across 37 reference profiles. Note, you can use the app without an apple watch, but to get the most of our your data, we recommend an apple watch!

SUBSCRIPTION TERMS
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of
purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew monthly at the price shown for
the tier you choose, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the
end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your
subscription in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your
device. Any unused portion of a free trial (if offered) is
forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

SwingDNA is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any professional golfer named in this app. References to specific tours, players, or coaches are nominative and intended only to describe matching mechanics and training references. ### 1.55 — 2026-08-15

A real coach’s score. Your swing is now graded the way a coach would grade it — one number out of ten, with a sentence explaining what drove it. It replaces the old computed score everywhere: Home, the analysis verdict, My Game, Stats and the coach PDF.
It tells you when it can’t tell. If the frames don’t show enough of your swing, the app says so in plain words instead of inventing a number.
Slow-motion is detected for you. Import a slo-mo clip and the app works out its speed from the file itself. If a re-shared clip is still running slow, it offers to rebuild it at real speed in one tap.
Faults per swing, over time. A new trend in Progress showing whether your fault count is falling — counting only swings the app could read clearly, so a darker video can’t look like progress.
Full Picture seal. A new award for being measured every way the app can look: your Watch, down the line, and face on.
Fixes. The “chicken wing” fault no longer fires on a straight lead arm. Face-on swings are no longer scored lower than down-the-line ones for reasons that were about the camera rather than the swing. The frame-rate warning no longer mis-reads slow-motion clips as low-quality footage.

ceiling, never a confident decimal pretending to know more than the
analysis actually saw. A position only shows green when every one of
its measurements checks out; if a reading is inconclusive, it's shown
neutral, never guessed.

MORE ACCURATE READS
Dozens of accuracy passes across address, top-of-backswing, and
impact detection, tempo and slow-motion handling, and X-factor
measurement; calibrated against a real coach's own scoring, not just
our own judgment.

STATS & MY GAME
An explorable Stats pagel  every metric is one tap deep. Cleaner
trend charts, a calmer My Game layout.

MENTAL TRAINING & SKILLS
A rail of thirteen coached drills, and a redesigned Skills path that

1. New onboarding route: video-only calibration (no Apple Watch required to start).
The welcome screen now offers "Start with video only" alongside the existing watch calibration and demo. The user subscribes first (the same mandatory paywall, with camera-specific copy — no analysis ever runs pre-payment), films one swing, and receives a pro match computed from video signals alone, labelled with a "VIDEO READ" chip. The app persistently encourages pairing an Apple Watch ("the full read"); when watch calibration later completes, the match upgrades silently. To test: fresh install → "Start with video only" → sandbox purchase → film a swing → ~2-minute analysis → pro-match reveal. The existing watch route and demo mode are unchanged; the sandbox reviewer bypass still works.

2. First use of local notifications (new permission prompt).
Video analyses now continue in the background when the user navigates away. The notification permission is requested contextually — only the first time a user leaves a screen with a live analysis, never at launch. Three notification types: "analysis ready," "analysis couldn't finish," and "analysis paused — tap to reopen" (iOS suspends background decoding; the tap resumes it). Tapping deep-links to that swing's results. No remote notifications, no push entitlement.

3. Analysis runs longer, with honest progress.
The 3-D measurement pass is substantially more thorough (dense whole-swing sampling), so an analysis takes ~2–7 minutes. The UI states this plainly, shows a determinate progress bar, an app-wide progress pill, and lets the user leave and return — including during onboarding calibration.

4. Major analysis-quality overhaul (no new data collection).
Turn measurement rebuilt (continuous 3-D curve, plausibility gates, camera-angle detection); grades now cap when too few checks could run — a swing can no longer score "A" on thin evidence; tempo is always displayed with an uncertainty label when applicable, plus a frame-by-frame counter so users can verify it by eye; new fault detection: "across the line / laid off at the top"; ball detection now works for coloured range balls, enabling estimated launch stats; club-shaft tracking improved for outdoor footage.

5. New viewing features.
Drag-to-orbit 3-D skeleton per swing position (with club, clubhead arc, and gold "target zone" ranges on turn faults), body-direction arrows on stills, the broadcast tracer drawn on position stills, a PDF swing-report export via the system share sheet, and a consolidated Home ("Analyse" card with last-analysis summary; Progress in the quick-action grid).

### 1.5 — 2026-07-14

- New: Demo mode — browse the entire app on labeled sample data without a watch or subscription, including a sample video analysis (snapshots, faults, grade). Entry from the Welcome screen; exit anytime via the DEMO pill → "Make it yours."
- Onboarding slimmed to three steps (legal → welcome → calibration); tracking/voice choices and the profile picker became inline defaults with a change-sheet; a "What you'll need" card sets expectations (Apple Watch, a 7-iron, ~10 minutes).
- Subscription flow restructured — the paywall now follows calibration and gates the pro-match reveal; sealed Tour Card teaser (no result leakage pre-purchase); pre-purchase analysis shows a blurred preview.
- Pro-match scoring recalibrated to physically meaningful tolerances (percentages are now honest across skill levels), with a one-time migration of historic scores.
Video analysis accuracy — 3-D chest-turn measurement fixed (correct camera-space math), grading is coverage-aware ("B — on what this angle can measure, 16 of 34 checks"), and cards can no longer contradict the grade.
- New: TV-style swing tracer in the full-swing player; new: side-by-side comparison with synchronized playback and P1–P10 position pinning.
- Reveal celebration — dark-room staging, synthesized audio cues, replay link, full Reduce Motion support.
- Watch reliability — calibration instructions on iPhone no longer stall; distinctive double-tap "ready to swing" haptic; the watch stays awake through the video step; audio preferences now sync both ways between iPhone and watch.
- Range etiquette — one-time earphone nudge, master audio switch ("silent range mode"), single-device narration when earphones are connected.
