## What is SwingSpeak?

SwingSpeak is your complete Garmin R10 practice companion. Train speed, master your tempo, and sharpen your short game — all with real-time voice feedback so you never break rhythm.

Practice with purpose.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Connect SwingSpeak to your Garmin R10
2. Select your club
3. Swing — with or without a ball
4. Hear your metrics announced instantly

No looking at your phone. No breaking your flow. Just swing, listen, improve.

SHORT GAME SKILLS

Hit wedge shots at ring targets on island greens. Score points for accuracy, earn badges, and chase your personal best. Quick mode for a fast round, or full sessions across multiple blocks. Day and night environments keep it fresh. Track your scores and improvement over time.

SPEED & TEMPO TRAINING

SwingSpeak was the first app to bring speed and tempo training to the Garmin R10 — and it's still the best. Train with the ball or without it in the same session, no switching apps. Every swing gets measured and announced aloud — no looking at your phone, no breaking your flow.

Lock in your rhythm with tempo tones. The metronome calibrates to your swing and keeps you on beat.

3D DRIVING RANGE

Every ball strike flies on a virtual 3D driving range with real-time tracers. See the shot shape, carry, and deviation of every shot. Three tracer styles — Classic, Tail, and Broadcast. A top-down scatter view shows your dispersion at a glance.

VOICE COMMANDS

Change clubs, tag shots, switch swing types, start tempo tones, add session notes — all by voice. Just speak after the listen chime. Phone in your bag, AirPods in. Swing and speak.

VOICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

SwingSpeak speaks your metrics aloud after every swing. You choose what gets announced:

• Club head speed
• Swing tempo
• Ball speed
• Carry distance
• Total distance
• Shot shape
• Launch angle
• Spin rate
• Hand speed (with Apple Watch)

Pick your metrics, set your voice, and practice without ever looking at a screen.

APPLE WATCH COMPANION

Control your session from your wrist — toggle announcements, adjust tempo tones, trigger the listen chime. The watch captures hand speed on every swing and correlates it with your R10 data automatically.

WORKS WITH TRAINING AIDS

Built-in presets for The Stack System, SuperSpeed Golf, Rypstick, and other speed training programs with weight validation. See your progress with each implement over time.

REQUIREMENTS

• Garmin Approach R10 launch monitor
• iPhone or iPad with Bluetooth
• iOS 17.6 or later
• Apple Watch optional (watchOS 10+)

### 5/5 — Money Saver!

*2026-03-25*

This is exactly what I was looking for! I have a R10 and I use The Stack system but could never use them together. Thanks to this app I can warm up hitting the range on Awesome Golf and when I’m ready I switch it to Swingspeak on my iPad. I open The Stack app on my iPhone and put it next to the iPad and start my speed training. The Swingspeak app calls out my training speed swings and The Stack app on my phone records it. Perfectly seamless. An occasional misread but it doesn’t diminish the convenience of this app!

### 5/5 — Does exactly what I need

*2026-03-12*

I don’t often leave reviews but this app is brilliant. Easy to set up and intuitive. Does exactly what I need. I regularly check in on a trackman and the information is consistent with that. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Super geiles Teil

*2026-02-02*

Super Teil, jetzt kann ich Zuhause auch ohne Ball mit meinem SwingSpeed Stick üben.

### 5/5 — Great trainer, great value

*2026-01-31*

Very nicely designed app, works flawlessly with the R10 and provides some really nice insights.

### 5/5 — Great Sofware

*2026-01-19*

I used this for the first time yesterday, no missed shots and very accurate distances to what I hit on the course. The application is so easy to use and also very easy to make amendments when you forget to change the club! Well worth the money.

### 5/5 — Swing speed training - Game changer

*2026-01-18*

I've been testing this new swing speed training app and it is totally amazing. It has helped me so much to improve my tempo and speed with the driver as well as all my clubs.

The app works with the Garmin R10 launch monitor. It allows me to measure my swing speed with or without a ball while pulling data points directly from the R10 unit.

The ability of the app to connect to the R10 is a game changer. I can even choose to display other data points that are available through the R10.

With this app, I can ramp up my speed with the driver with no ball and then immediately transfer that feeling and swing technique to a ball and get measurable results to help me evaluate my progress and/or make changes.

If you want to bring your R10 unit to a whole new level, then get this app!

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2026-01-18*

Great app that pairs perfectly with the R10. Well done!

### 5/5 — Excellent hands-free speed & tempo training for R10 users

*2026-01-17*

SwingSpeak fills a gap I didn’t realise existed for Garmin R10 owners. Being able to get instant audio feedback on clubhead speed and tempo without hitting a ball is a game changer. I can train in the backyard, garage, or even do speed sessions without worrying about ball flight or screen-watching.
The hands-free audio callouts are the standout feature. No looking at your phone between swings just swing, listen, and adjust. It’s perfect for my SuperSpeed training, but also great for dialing in tempo. Hearing speed changes immediately makes it easy to train with intent and track progress session to session.
Setup is simple, the interface is clean, and it does exactly what it promises. If you own a Garmin R10 and care about swing speed or tempo, this app is an easy recommendation, especially at the introductory price

### 5/5 — Great swing speed trainer

*2026-01-17*

I was fortunate enough to be part of the beta testing, but i've used this app far more than I thought i would. It's extremely convenient to be able to just boot it up and measure my swing speed and path, no ball needed. I've compared it to a trackman and it's definitely accurate. There are occasional misreads, but that's more on the R10 than the app.

### 5/5 — Speed training with my R10

*2026-01-17*

I bought an R10 last year but couldn’t use it for speed training because it wouldn’t track swings without hitting a ball. SwingSpeak fixes that and it’s awesome! Now I can do super speed sessions in my garage and see my swing speed! Voice announcement are great - I don’t have to look at my phone between swings.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-02-18

v1.1.1:
Metric Units
Meters and km/h are now supported, choose your units in Settings > Units

Improved Club Manager
Redesigned cloud management with cleaner layout.

Better voice recognition, bug fixes and UI/UX improvements.

v1.1:
Voice Commands
SwingSpeak now listens and responds to voice commands. After each swing you'll hear a chime, that's the app listening for your input. Everything runs on your device, no internet needed. You can find more information on this at: https://swingspeak.app/help

Here's what you can say:

Tag your shot: "pure", "fat", "thin", "topped", "toe", "heel", "hosel"
Change clubs: "change club 7 iron", "switch to driver"
Set swing type: "change club 7 iron three quarter swing", "change club driver max effort"
Add a note: "note: changed to a new glove"
Flag a misread: "misread" or "delete"
Control tempo: "start tempo", "stop tempo", "faster", "slower", "drums on"
  End session: "end session"
Compound commands: "pure, change club pitching wedge" tags and switches in one go

The mic button on the bottom bar shows three states: grey (voice off), green pulse (listening enabled, waiting for your next swing), and green with animated bars (actively listening). Tap it anytime to start listening manually. Auto-listen can be toggled on or off from the new audio strip.

Tempo Training
The app can now play Tempo Tones that you match your swing to. Tap the waveform icon on the bottom bar to open the audio strip, then tap Tempo. You'll get:

Preset tempos (Slow, Medium, Tour, Fast) or auto-calibration based on your actual swing tempo
An optional drum layer for a fuller metronome sound
Voice control: "start tempo", "stop tempo", "faster", "slower"

This is great for working on rhythm and consistency, especially during speed training sessions.

Distance & Shot Shape
For ball strikes, you'll now see two new metrics:

Total distance (carry + rollout), not just carry
Shot shape: draw, fade, push, pull with yards of lateral deviation

These are announced by voice and show up in the metric grid alongside your other numbers.

Session Notes
You can add text notes at any point during a session:

By voice: "note: working on backswing rotation"
By button: tap the note icon in the shot history panel
At end of session: the end-session flow now prompts for a wrap-up note

Notes appear in your shot timeline alongside your swings and are saved with the session.

Shot Tags & Swing Types
Two new ways to add context to your practice:

Shot tags (ball strikes only): pure, thin, fat, topped, toe, heel, hosel. Tag via voice after the shot, or use the tag popup.
Swing types: full, 3/4, 1/2, punch, chip, max, warm-up. Set before the shot using the chips in the club picker, or include it in a voice command.

Misread Flagging
You can now swipe left on any shot in the history panel to flag it as a misread. Flagged shots are removed from your averages and hidden by default. Tap the eye icon in the panel header to reveal them, and swipe to restore if you change your mind.

This helps us improve the automatic filtering over time. The more you flag, the smarter it gets.

Enhanced Voices
We've added support for enhanced and premium text-to-speech voices. Head to Settings > Voice Announcements to browse and select one. The app will walk you through downloading the voice to your device if needed. The difference in quality over the default voice is significant, worth trying.
