## What is Swipe Split?

Dinner was great. The last ten minutes don't have to ruin it.

SwipeSplit turns one photo of the receipt into a shared table. Scan the receipt, share the QR code or link, and everyone opens it on their own phone and claims the items they had from a list. Shared plates split between whoever claims them. Tax, tip, fees, and discounts are spread fairly and add up to the printed total, to the cent.

When everyone has claimed, the host finalizes the table and each person sees exactly what they owe, with a pay-back button that opens Venmo or Cash App with the amount filled in. Guests don't need an account. No money moves through SwipeSplit.

Good to know: receipt photos are read by an AI model to pull out the items, kept for 30 days so we can fix bad scans, then deleted. Tables expire after 24 hours.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.3 — 2026-10-21

One shared step on every phone. A new table now walks everyone through the same step at the same time: join, the receipt, tap what you had, the tip (picked with the whole table watching), who paid (two or more people split it evenly), pay. Nobody has to explain the app.

Zelle, step by step. Paying with Zelle now shows your amount and the host's number big, three short steps, and a button for your bank.

Sharing a dish with your +1. When you're paying for someone else and tap a dish others had, you now choose right there whether it's both of you or just you, with the shares shown.

Apple Cash, without the pre-typed text. Tapping Apple Cash now opens your Messages thread with the host empty, and our screen shows the amount and the three taps.

### 1.4.2 — 2026-10-16

The bar at the bottom now tells you the next step and takes you there. The dish to tap next gives a soft blink. If a save fails, it says so and gives you a Try again button. Sharing now starts with How many are splitting?, then one screen with the QR code that fills a seat as each friend joins. New here? A short walkthrough shows how SwipeSplit works. On iPhone, every table now offers Apple Cash, and the ways you pay are listed first.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-10-10

Always know what comes next.

• A fresh home screen: Scan the receipt sits right up top, your open table fills in as friends claim, and a "Did you know?" fact about splitting the bill.
• SwipeSplit winks. The logo winks while the app opens and again when your table settles.
• Hosts review everyone's share in one panel, then check friends off as they pay.
• Your share and table progress stay pinned at the bottom while you claim.
• Save your setup. Sign in with Apple or Google to keep your table history, pay handles and name across phones. Splitting still works without an account.
• Hosting friends without the app? Add them, claim for them, and text them their final share.
• A clearer three-step tour and receipt-scanning tips help everyone get started.
• Join with a typed or pasted invite link, with clear feedback if it needs fixing.
• Full dish names, compact claiming cards, and assignment controls that open when you need them.
• Undo a removed receipt item and remind friends who still owe you.
• A smaller app.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-10-02

A faster way to split the table.

• Snap the receipt: a new scanner flattens the photo, and a long receipt can take up to 3 photos.
• Check the scan: turn the photo, re-scan, and see right away if the total doesn't match.
• A fresh home screen and a quick 3-step tour.
• Bigger tables: up to 60 people and up to 3 receipts per table.
• Split a dish between friends with one tap.
• Pay as soon as you're done claiming.
• Venmo and Cash App open with the amount filled in, and Apple Cash and Zelle are one tap away.
• See who still owes you, and what's still on the table.
• The restaurant name fills itself in.
• Works on older iPhones, back to iOS 15.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-10-01

Paying back is one tap: big Venmo, Cash App and Zelle buttons open the app with the amount filled in, and Zelle copies the number and tells you what to do next. Hosts see who's paid at a glance and can finalize in one tap once everything is claimed. Delivery and service fees now count, shared like tax and tip. Plus a List | Cards switch, dish pictures ready before you swipe, a fixed header, the version in the footer, and the handshake wink.
