As treasurer it can be very difficult to aggregate and organize payments, but Switch makes it easy with their money pools and spectacular customer service. It has saved our organization thousands of dollars in fees and optimized our financial operations. I would highly recommend Switch for anyone who uses paid tools, or platforms, such as Venmo and Stripe for collecting payments. You also have quick access to the creation of spending cards, to directly manage/distribute finances within Switch to avoid reimbursements. Incentivizing members to pay by notifying when other members pay which boosts collection rates. 2. Spending cards that can be assigned to any person in the money pool such as a spending card that I can give access to social for purchasing supplies. This reduces the amount of venmos I have to send out daily and also the passing around of the fraternity debit card. 3. A dedicated and responsive team that answers any questions and resolved issues in minutes of texting them. Compared to our current collection service, switch beats them by miles in responsiveness and help. 4. Simple platform for our members to pay, for external users to pay toward philanthropy for example, and for me managing the money pools. Whether you use switch for one moneypool to collect formal, use it for multiple moneypools to supplement your financial operations, or as your genuine bank, Switch is the best option for treasurers trying to make their job easier and trying to make their operations more efficient and effective. ### 5/5 — Great App!! *2025-03-03, version 4.9.0* I am the treasurer for Delta Tau Delta at USC and we use this app for all our finances. The features of this app make collecting funds for your organization easy and seamless. I especially like the ease of creating virtual cards for other members within your organization. The response time for customer service is almost immediate so the relationship feels personal. The app always works smoothly and works greatly with Venmo. For what?! Being a legal citizen in the USA?! Makes you wonder why they ask for your private info and then the app seizes working. Seems like a scam ### 1/5 — Freezes up; High fees *2025-02-13, version 4.8.1* The app kept freezing up on me so I couldn’t make a payment. Finally after a few days of trying on and off, I did get the app to put my payment through somehow. To pay, Switch wants you to link your checking account to them. There’s no way I’m giving my checking account info to some random app. The other option is to pay with credit card, in which case they charge you a 3% fee. On my $425 payment that was a $13 fee. Ugh. But then in addition, without forewarning, they coded the transaction as a cash advance. So I got charged a $21 cash advance fee on my credit card a few days later. So that’s $34 of fees on a $425 transaction. Utterly ridiculous. We do provide a warning before you finalize a credit card payment so you can choose the bank transfer option to avoid these fees. Thank you for giving us a chance to make this right. ### 1/5 — Freezes up; Requires SSN; High fees *2025-01-31* The app kept freezing up on me so I couldn’t make a payment. Finally I did get it to go through. To pay they want you to open an account with them which requires your Social Security number. There’s no way I’m giving some sketchy app my SSN. The other option is to pay with credit card in which case they charge you a 3% fee. On my $400 payment that’s a $12 fee. Ridiculous. So in summary, it’s glitchy, it requires your SSN, and it has high fees. Three strikes and you’re out, Switch. ### 1/5 — BEWARE: App Has Many Issues *2024-12-24* This app first and foremost should not allow you to contribute any money until you are verified. Interesting thing is that I was verified and that is when I put $150 into the group savings account. Well what a big mistake that was. All of the sudden my account was suspended. I received the following explanation that "...Hi Otis, ...this is our banking system with Thread which flagged your account. We sadly have no control over this, as they run our accounts and insure our customer's funds through FDIC licensing. We do not see any funds on your account, so please let us know if you see any charges." Funny how they couldn't see the $150 I added in the app so I had to show them my bank record and only then did they initiate a refund but we will see if I get that. I have BOA on speed dial just in case I need to have them step in. ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time *2024-10-04, version 4.6.0* I tried to use this app for a group event, and I was flagged and suspended right away. Maybe they get tons of scammers, but I was not one of them. You have to verify your identity by uploading your drivers license which I did. I even tied my bank account using plaid My event is going to cost around 8000 bucks. Maybe if you’re doing something piddly under 500 bucks or so this would work. I had to contact all the people and give them an alternate method of giving money. It just made me look bad and wasted my time. I definitely do not recommend. ### 1/5 — Too many bugs. App needs a lot of work *2024-03-27* (I’d give this app 0 stars if I could) I’ve use this app for 3 years now because I really enjoy the idea of it, but the app keeps getting worse and worse. Depositing money into the wrong accounts when I try to withdraw, issues with payment methods, and the worst, claiming I owe them over a thousand dollars because of an error they made. Ridiculous. It has been great so far, super easy to use and we love the features it has. The money pool feature makes collecting dues very convenient and easy to keep track of. If any issues arise, they are quick to respond and extremely helpful. Whether it’s collecting rent, dues, or tracking payment plans, Switch keeps everything organized and easy to use. As Treasurer, I especially appreciate the ability to issue custom debit cards for each officer or position. I can set budgets, spending limits, and monitor transactions in real-time. There’s no need to pass around the official bank card anymore — members can just use their own cards or Apple Pay. One of the best features is that every member can see who has paid and who hasn’t — which really helps keep everyone on track without constant reminders. The app itself is super intuitive and easy to use, with a clean interface. Plus, the customer support is outstanding — every time I’ve reached out with questions or needed guidance, their team has been quick, helpful, and genuinely informative.
