### 4/5 — I really like this game but..

*2023-07-10*

The new feature with the age thing is annoying because it quite literally says 12+ on the app but I put in that I was 15 and I was apparently too young. Now I’ve lost my progress :( I think it used to be rated 15 plus but then went to 12 and up. So that’s kinda ridiculous.

**Developer response:** Hi there,

Oh no! Losing your progress sounds very annoying. Fortunately, we can work together to sort out what is happening but we need a few more details. If you can get in touch via the contact form at support.wooga.com, we’ll be able to research the problem nice and quick.

Hope to hear from you soon.

### 4/5 — What the hell is with the frogs and rewards?

*2023-05-18*

Hey, Wooga. I downloaded Switchcraft a long time ago. I love this game, but as of late I’ve been finding myself extremely frustrated with a few aspects.

1. Why are the frogs so stupid?
Before they were updated, the frogs were actually useful. They would help you with your objective. But now, unless I summon an army of them with the rainbow ball, they do the least helpful thing ever. For example, instead of breaking the gem underneath a key or fox, they just break a box! The box doesn’t matter! Don’t even get me started on their decision making when I fuse them with a line gem or a bomb gem. They go for the place they’d help the least- it’s like they’re doing it on purpose. Please make them like they used to be. Right now they’re virtually useless.
2. Bad reward system
I have to watch ads to be able to beat most levels. I can’t get enough coins, both from level rewards, from Magnus, or ads. The price to buy more lives (900) doesn’t seem like much at first, but when you consider that you get mostly 20 coins from everything, it’s not worth it, and just a waste of money. I remember when Magnus would give you useful power ups all the time, and the ads would too. Now most of what you get is just collection items. The infinite lives are pretty useful, but I can only get them once in a while. Either lower prices significantly or increase rewards- simple.

Now, for the level rewards specifically-
•what’s with the magicka earning for hard and super hard levels? I think that a hard level should give you two magicka, and a super hard should give you three.
•Please make the coin rewards greater. 50 coins for beating a level and increase it by 50 for each difficulty, perhaps? I can’t fathom why super hard levels would only give you 80~ coins.

Please do something about this! The game is much less enjoyable than it used to be.

### 4/5 — Impressive game!

*2023-03-29*

I have to say, what a wonderful and well developed game this is. The story is intriguing and fantastic and you guys did an excellent job creating this game. I love it, and im a straight guy lol. Hard to put my phone down with this game. But i only have one issue, ive been stuck on a level for almost 2 days now and if I don’t beat it by tomorrow unfortunately i will delete it and will come back and change my feedback to a 2 star rating because there is nothing worse than being stuck on a level for days kinda forcing people to spend real money to pass the level. I’ve already spent money on this game and wont spend anymore. Spending money on this games constantly its a waste of money because you will get stuck over and over and it will require you to spend money over and over and im not a rich person with money to throw away on this stuff. I spend money here and there with the intention to help developers out, kinda like a donation. This game however deserves it to spend a few bucks here and there but i wont spend anymore. Please, fix the difficulty because i will love to know how this story ends. What developers need to understand is that making games so difficult that you get stuck for days will make the game boring and you will lose customers or “players” so please don’t make the game so difficult.

### 4/5 — Amazing

*2023-03-17*

Would be the perfect game if I was able to hold Rosie’s hand, otherwise the story is captivating with a great mix of gameplay to keep player engaged without speeding through the storyline

### 4/5 — Great game

*2023-01-21, version 2.4.3*

I do love this game. It is hard I’m some instances but most of the levels are doable. The only this I dislike about it is not being able to personalize the character and having to follow the side stories. Those are really a waste of stars when that are mostly irrelevant to the main story. Additionally, there should be story options where you can choose which story to follow and complete instead of just chasing after Lydia. Like being able to learn magic, or solve other mysteries at the academy. But overall I love this game. It is one of the few that I still play. I made it to level 2,164 before I accident turned the language to Spanish and reset it while trying to get it back in English.

### 3/5 — Difficult Levels

*2022-12-08, version 2.4.3*

I’ve been playing this game for about a few months and I’ve really enjoyed the story aspect tied into the levels. My only complaint is that some levels are extremely difficult to a point where i’m trying to pass it for a week. It is also rare that I have any power ups available to help with the levels. It seems impossible to get those without buying them. Anyways i’m on level 263 which isn’t even labeled as hard, and i have been stuck for a few days now and don’t really have the money to buy anything. I’ve had this issue with several other levels which makes the game not as fun anymore. I like a challenging game but not to a point where it takes me days to accomplish one level.

### 5/5 — J’adore ce jeu et les personnages

*2022-11-11*

Je vous adore. Merci. J’aimerais un peu plus de romance avec le love interest comme Gilmore et Dylan.

### 5/5 — Even better than expected

*2022-11-10, version 2.4.3*

I’ve been blown away by this game. The story is riveting, the characters are interesting, it’s LGBTQ+ inclusive, and romance isn’t even the main aspect of the story which makes it feel more realistic. It also doesn’t make you pay to unlock certain choices like some choice-based story games do.
I thought at first that the added matching game aspect would be a negative since I don’t usually like them very much, but it’s the perfect combination of luck and challenge that makes it fun to play, and not like a chore that’s necessary to continue the story.
I’m not sure how far into the game I am, but I’ve been playing for 5 days and I think I’m still just near the beginning of the beginning of the story.
Hopefully things don’t change as I move forward and the game stays just as fun, but so far it’s absolutely amazing! 10/10

### 5/5 — Amazing on every level!

*2022-10-13, version 2.3.0*

I didn’t think I’d stick with this, but I am really happy with it, and I may actually attempt to FINISH it. The art is beautiful, the writing is engaging, and the story is downright Compelling. The gameplay is extremely well balanced, even on advanced levels, and if you’re willing to replay the level a few times you can usually get it without overusing items. Which they give you pretty generously, btw. I love this game and I am Thrilled that I took a chance on another silly puzzle game. Oh, and I love that the levels aren’t Timed.

### 4/5 — Story

*2022-10-13*

I finished the game was wondering if their will be a second one

### 4/5 — Intriguing story but….

*2022-09-23*

I’m very interested in the story but the actual mini games can get too hard. Some you pretty much cannot complete without special items or in-game currency that you buy with real money. P2W for sure. You can always wait a whole day to get said items but that’s only good for like 30s worth of story.

### 3/5 — Can’t open the app

*2022-09-16*

Don’t know why but now I can’t open it. It talks about an error that happened but I can’t even see the title screen it stays like that and even if I try to reopen it nothing works…

### 5/5 — Never boring

*2022-09-13*

His is a clever game, challenging and a fun storyline, involving personal choices. What I love most is not ever having to play exactly the same game if I happen to get stuck on a level. Such fun! Thanks to the creators, I am a grateful fan.

### 3/5 — Idk what to do when this happened

*2022-09-02*

The game play was fun and frankly addicting ( beside the super hard puzzle that literally make me want to lose my mind) until this happened . After level 55 , you unlock vision potions and Rosie was guiding you around . But when the “ drag the fragment “ part comes, I can’t do anything . It was just the frozen background and I tried taping and staging things like the stars. Its strangled me there and I couldn’t continue anything. Looking up guides or walk though didn’t help, everyone else seem to be able to get though it or info was just not available. Dev , pls help, I really do not want to uninstall this .

### 5/5 — AMazing!

*2022-08-29*

I normally don’t like match 3 games it’s just not my style. I also don’t like games like episode because I hate the pay to play aspect but this! This game is amazing I don’t have to watch 40 adds I don’t have to pay to play and the story is amazing I’m so in love with it. This game is it. If you are thinking of playing it do it it’s worth it

### 5/5 — Nostalgic

*2022-08-23, version 2.1.0*

I am not sure if anyone remembers Purple Moon games such as Rockett’s New School but I was a huge fan of them as a kid (definitely dating myself here). They were thoughtfully written and involved social decision-making with realistic consequences to your actions. Switchcraft giving me the nostalgia for those games as it is also thoughtfully written and covers important social topics (i.e. mental health) without the cheesy after school special vibe.

You can play the game however you like. You can alienate people or keep them close, focus on completing puzzles exclusively, then binge the story later when you feel like it, or alternate back and forth (puzzle completion unlocks story). The puzzle itself has some fun power ups and challenges and I like how they found a way to tie in its relevance to the story.

I didn’t think this game was for me initially based on the dating-sim-like thumbnails, but then I saw a glowing review for it and decided to see for myself. I am glad I gave it a try even if I’m not the target audience. Great work!

**Developer response:** Hello,

It’s been a lot of work to release Switchcraft, and we’re so happy to hear that you’re such a fan of the game. Thanks for taking the time to let us know what you think.

Yours,
The Switchcraft Team

### 5/5 — Loving it!

*2022-08-21*

I love it! I’m up to level 95 for the puzzles but still early in the story (chapter 5). I really enjoy the art style and the music fits perfectly with the story they’re create. I also love how you’re not having to spend money on this game or watch non stop ads all the time to get the “best outcomes” like a lot of other interactive stories available.

The only thing is I wish some of the story parts were a little longer with maybe a few more choices and interactions. Maybe instead of 10 or so stages of each chapter maybe around 5 to 7 stages of each chapter to get more story time? But otherwise, amazing!!
I would have to say this is my second favourite story game following “The Arcana”

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Good up to a point, but then…

*2022-12-07*

This plot-driven puzzle/visual novel game was quite charming and fun, with well-drawn artwork and genuine choices to be made throughout as you navigate this compelling world of witches, warlocks and exploding gems(!)

Sadly, things take a turn for the worst around level 47, when it becomes increasingly clear that in order to proceed through the puzzle levels pure skill or luck just ain’t enough. You need to spend oodles of hard cash, and all the time and effort you’ve invested in this game up until now has just been a lead-on to that.

Not me, hombre. As soon as the scam was revealed I quickly uninstalled the game, with the £4.49 they wanted for a ‘beginners pack’ of 2000 going destined for Christmas presents instead. Shame, because I’d like to know what’ll happen next… but you ain’t pumping me for quarters at such a difficult cost-of-living crisis. Nice try, though now 😜

### 1/5 — Useless update, where's the story?

*2022-08-10*

I play this game for the story and it's been months since we've been waiting for the finale. Your tech support says there won't be any more story line, so what's the point in playing?
The recent update gave some new options, but it's nothing special.
I've been playing since the game released for the interesting adventure. Now, you left us hanging.

### 1/5 — Loved the game until…

*2022-05-13, version 1.11.0*

I loved the game and spent $20+ per week. On April 30th I spent $10 and spent an hour and a half gaining Magicka and leveling up. I had bought a new iPad and wanted to continue playing on that, so I downloaded it and opened it and it reverted me back to a previous time where I had half the Magicka I had amassed. I’m not sure if the levels went down, because I don’t pay attention to that, but I’m guessing it did. I reached out to support immediately and Diego got back to me on May 1st. I replied on May 2nd with info they requested and Diego responded the same day saying they would check into it. I still hadn’t heard anything by May 8th, so I reached out again, no reply. I reached out yet again on May 11th, still no reply. After such discouraging treatment from support and their apparent lack of wanting to help me recover what I lost, I am done with this game. I don’t recommend spending any money, if you lose it somehow, no one will help you.

### 1/5 — Too hard to play for long without spending big

*2021-05-12*

I really like this game, but it is just too frustrating.
So much about it is good, but the matching just gets harder and harder as you go through, and as you usually only win one magika, it takes beating two matching games to get one tiny section of story.

There is only one other way to earn magika, and that’s limited to one per day.

The matching game has issues- the frogs are next to useless; the wobble is hardly ever the best option; you earn a minuscule amount coins compared to the cost of the aids; you need aids to complete almost every match after a certain level.

I would usually be happy to spend a bit of money here and there on a game, but with this one you would need to spend way too much, and it doesn’t even guarantee that you will pass that level anyway. You could use multiple aids and still not pass.

Altogether, great game but don’t even bother starting it unless you are prepared to spend a lot!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your review and for sharing your opinion with us! Our game team is constantly working on improving Switchcraft to make it the best game it can be so feedback from you is highly appreciated! If you have additional thoughts, please send them to switchcraft-feedback@wooga.net.

### 2/5 — Update broke the game

*2022-08-19*

The game is enticing, if frustrating at times.
The frogs still do not often help towards the objectives (all you need is one last star, and it is the last move, you trigger a frog…and it hops onto a mist block. Level lost.)
The update has not only wiped all the progress from the ongoing event, having us start from the first level, but with only 1 day left, but has also broken the game, that now crashes sometimes mid level, sometimes when opening a level, sometimes during ads or during the story, and results in loss of progress AND loss of hearts. You click to open a level, and the game crashes, but when it reopens, the life was lost, without even getting a chance at the level.
Please fix it.

### 2/5 — Level generator needs big improvement

*2022-03-18, version 1.9.0*

Updated; Just know that this game can be extremely frustrating due to terrible randomization for the more cramped levels (these will generally be the “super hard” levels that I’ve mostly only been able to get through on pure luck). It makes me absolutely hate the game, despite having a very well developed story, which I adore. To be honest, it’s fun and addicting but the occasional crashes, glitchy frog finals where you clearly used a lot of frogs but the game doesn’t count them sometimes, and the level generator / gem randomization mechanic makes it frustrating to play, to the point where I considered putting it down for good multiple times. Of course, I haven’t. I think the developers know exactly what they’re doing. Like, it never fails to ask you if you’re sure you want to play the level again and lose your progress with the frog count for the frog finals while offering you the option of wasting 900 coins for 5 extra moves (absolutely never worth it), but when you win, it isn’t so consistent with keeping count.

**Developer response:** Hello,

We're sorry to hear you're not completely satisfied with the game, and thank you for sharing your feedback and thoughts with us. Knowing what our players would like us to improve on is what helps us make great games. We'll be happy to forward your feedback to our team, so it could be taken in consideration.

Kind regards,
Your Wooga Support Team

### 2/5 — Great Game, Crashes Often

*2021-12-31, version 1.5.1*

Great game, crashes a lot, customer support was zero help. I have absolutely loved this game and it’s entirety since I started playing it. The storyline is great, the choices are good, and the matching game isn’t too difficult. However, over the last week it has started crashing all the time. Either right when I go to open a level after I’ve used a power up, right after I’ve given coins to extend a level and then I lose all the coins when I get back in, so I’ll spend 900 coins on a level and then they’re just gone, or right when I’m close to the end of a level it will crash. I submitted a case in the system and didn’t hear anything for a while. Then all of a sudden received two emails back to back, first one telling me how they were going to try and resolve it and the second saying they were closing the conversation because I was already being assisted which is impossible because I had just received both messages. After losing 900 coins for the 3rd time I almost deleted the app but I’m giving it a few more days to sort itself out before I do that.

### 2/5 — Edited Review: Game Crashes

*2021-11-28, version 1.3.2*

The puzzles are ok, I like that they tie in magic to the puzzles but they’re not as fun others like the scapes games. You play for the story line, which is interesting but often overshadowed by how woke them game tries to be; characters are pretty two-dimensional, but it’s a puzzle game not a novel, so it’s fine.

EDIT: I have updated my rating because the game crashes a lot, or kicks you off a level if you switch to a different app for five minutes. This causes you to lose your life and any power-ups you have used. I reached out to the company about this and they said it’s to prevent cheating and will not change this. I’ve lost enough lives/coin because of those crashes I probably won’t play anymore.

### 3/5 — The Best Game Till It’s Not

*2023-12-07*

This game is a solid 5 for me. Or at least, it was. Beautiful, bright, and colorful with gorgeous, serene music and lovely sound effects. The story part is fine, the potion making is pretty useless, but what kept me logging in daily was the gameplay. You could watch ads and get special power ups or infinity lives, sometimes I might get stuck but I eventually made it through so I never got frustrated. I looked FORWARD to playing every day. Some boards felt like actual puzzles to figure out which made it more than just a match 3 game.

But I’m ready to uninstall which is disappointing. Somehow the game just downgraded, boards were almost impossible to pass, every one was a slog. Then, somehow the frogs got WAY stupid and would help you lose levels vs winning them. THEN, they took out the events (where you earn different power ups and coins), which made the boards even MORE difficult to pass. And I’m not quitting on say, board 100-something, I’m currently on level 2790 (!) and I think I’ll just quit. I use to play certain boards 20 times before I passed and still be happy to play. But without the events to build up power ups without spending real money, it’s not fun anymore or challenging, just feels broken.

### 3/5 — level 41 KILLS all momentum and desire to keep playing.

*2023-05-02*

this game was relatively easy and engaging in the beginning. the story is strong and i kept coming back to play. however, it takes a MASSIVE difficulty spike at level 41. it got to the point i started looking up tutorials online. and then i (and other players) noticed something. level 41 used to be easier. it used to be 17 butterflies with 24 moves. however, they changed it to 21 butterflies with 17 moves. why? my guess is to make more money. i’m not about to sink my money into a game that spikes the difficulty and artificially changes difficulty just to make a quick buck. i was invested in the story, but this is a dealbreaker. i’m probably going to end up deleting this game because of this. do not download this game unless this gets patched (which i doubt it will be because according to other users this has been a problem for almost a year).

**Developer response:** Hello,

We really appreciate it when players take the time to let us know what we could improve on! Although we can't guarantee each request will be implemented in the final game, we do read every comment we receive. If you'd like to provide us more feedback you can also contact us at jjfeedback@wooga.com.

### 5/5 — I think I ran out of levels

*2023-10-31*

I’m over level 3,000 and the level button has disappeared, does this mean i’m out? Is it over? 💔💔💔 Needless to say good game, I understand the middle aged women and their candy crush so much more now than I ever have.
If it’s a glitch I hope it gets patched soon, if not and i’m just cracked I hope the devs consider making new levels 🙏

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2023-10-22*

This game is amazing especially the times she has a vision, I really recommend this game if you are really into mystery’s, missing people, and cliff hangers ( also if you don’t cliff hangers are they are something that like you get really exited about something and then 2 seconds after that it just ends, but I don’t mean it just ends forever I mean till the next episode). So anyways it’s really realistic and Linda kinda gets scary at the end of chapter 3 but umm it’s also kinda weird. But one thing about this game it goes on forever basically. I was just going to say to the developers in this game, there is nothing absolutely nothing wrong with this game that I know of. Also if you don’t want to have a lot of time on your screen then don’t download this because your gonna lose track of time, when I meant by that I spent 5 hours thinking it was only thirty minutes. But I love this game because it’s realistic, you basically get obsessed with it, witchcraft, you picture it inside your head, and you really can’t get off it.

Totally recommend this game for anyone!!!

### 5/5 — AMAZING

*2023-10-07*

I just started playing this game but it's already really really good, the puzzles are somewhat challenging but not so difficult that they're frustrating like most other games and I like how it's mostly story without having to do lots and lots of puzzles to continue the story, usually just one and the story itself is really interesting so far. I LOVE THIS GAME.

### 5/5 — (Bug report)

*2023-09-11*

When you tap the Play button to start a level, the game will very occasionally not respond immediately. If you tap the play button again during this time, the subsequent load time at the start of the level is much longer, almost as the it’s trying to load the level assets multiple times based on how many times you pressed the button. Unfortunately this bug isn’t very reproduceable, it seems random.

Also, there’s a missing music trigger at the start of Chapter 19, Task 5 (I think), titled “Go to the lake”. The title screen music just continues to play over the story.

Oh and, since this is technically also a review, uh, I absolutely love the game. The writing has no reason to be this good, and the gameplay is just fun. (But never spend your coins on Continues, folks, it’s never worth it!)

**Developer response:** Hi there,

It’s always nice to have honest reviews from players. I'm sorry to hear that your game is taking a longer time to load. I'd love to help you sort it out, so if you can give me a few more details via the contact forms on either the in-game support page, or at support.wooga.com, so we can start investigating the loading issue right away. Also, please report the music issue as well.

Apologies again,
Wooga Support Team

### 5/5 — 😢

*2023-08-30*

Sad it ended…

### 5/5 — Sadly the story came to an end!

*2023-03-06*

I love this game have been playing it for a long time and finally came to the end of the story. Definitely a unique experience and am thinking of restarting it to continue playing. I really enjoyed the story line and everything in the game. I hope the developers are going to continue to create more chapters for the characters because it would be awesome to see more adventures of them or maybe even create new chapters of each character, their perspectives or own adventures. It would be unfortunate to just end the story and only be able to play the matching portion because it all ties together and is a major part of what makes this game so unique and fun. Hope to see something new soon until then I’ll be replay it from the beginning.

**Developer response:** Hello,

What a marvelous review! We put so much work into making June's Journey the best game possible, so it’s such a boost to all our working days. Thank you for putting a smile on our faces.

Happy adventuring!

### 5/5 — the best game app ive ever had

*2023-01-26, version 2.4.3*

i love this app so much! I’ve been playing it for almost a year now, almost every night when i get in bed. the puzzles are great and satisfying and the characters are all so lovely! i love being Bailey :)

i got got by a targeted ad for this but i am not mad about it at all! it’s a perfect little game with a great story and world to play it in. the powerups are all great and i love the system of watching the ads on the plant daily to get them. i always hope for an infinity life but if i run out and don’t get one it’s probably time to stop playing for the day. i easily spend at least an hour with Switchcraft every day!

thank you to the devs for making the best game app i’ve ever downloaded :)

### 5/5 — Dramatically underrated

*2023-01-24*

I have played some puzzle games and this one beats most of them in every aspect. Very enjoyable puzzles (some of them really challenging), visual side great and suits the story, music and sounds are a vital part of the experience.

Story? Well, maybe it is not the pinnacle of writing in games, but I was still pleasantly surprised. It gets quite interesting; I strongly advise to farm gems before reading, because it might be difficult to stop. Characters gain quite a lot of depth as the plot progresses. Yes, they are sometimes annoying, make stupid decisions, behave in irrational or downright terrible way, but that makes them human. The character and relationship development is for me the best part of the story.

Game is truly free to play and win. There are some daily rewards that can be obtained after watching the ads, but this is limited and apart from this optional feature, the gameplay is not disturbed in any way. Very much appreciated!

Overall - as the title says. This game should be somewhere on the top of puzzle games’ rankings and I fail to understand why it is not the case.

Ah, this is important! Naomi is cute. The game needs more Naomi and her summer dress!

### 5/5 — The one that survived.

*2023-01-02, version 2.4.3*

I would routinely play and download multiple match-3 games. You know the endless cycle; out of lives in one, play another, wait for the heart cooldowns, rotate. Switchcraft is the only one I have now. It’s not bombarding you with events and paywalls and dailies. I play and it doesn’t feel like the randomized difficulty to make you purchase in game content. And if I run out of lives I can just play the story. The characters are diverse in a way, but I will say they all feel very immature and quippy for shallow humor. Definitely written for a younger audience, but still entertaining enough to engage with.

### 5/5 — Wonderful game

*2022-12-17, version 2.4.3*

I don’t usually play games but I’m addicted to this one. I love how you aren’t bombarded with ads at all and it is completely free! You have the option to buy things like coins and stuff like that but you don’t HAVE to buy anything to progress in this game. The storyline is very interesting, love that you can engage and select options, and the bubble shooting part is super fun and not too hard but a good challenge as you continue to level up. This is such an amazing game and I don’t leave reviews often but this game deserves a great rating because it is awesome!!!
