I do hope they would allow the app to work with Siri Shortcuts in the future, like most other smart home apps. ### 4/5 — Switchmate *2024-01-29* Works now. Things were working fine until of late that the switch does not keep settings saved. If I try to enable the welcome home feature on a device, the entire app crashes, so that feature is currently 100% unusable for me. Honestly pathetic. I want to believe you care about your customers, but I’m finding it quite difficult at the moment. Edit: now, for whatever reason, the timers reverted to their previous states and I had to reset them. Come on already! Fix these issues! ### 2/5 — Unable to connect this app back to my WiFi *2022-05-26, version 3.3.4* After a recent storm out power briefly shut off for 1second then back on but Switchmate devices lost WiFi connectivity. I tried all the troubleshooting steps, remove batteries try again, reboot WiFi router all to no avail. My router no longer shows up in the app itself, but does in every other app that uses my WiFi. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled, reset the switch, changed batteries to no avail. The switches and plugs have both worked great as well as the schedules. (I’ve never used the “come home” feature or voice control.) Recently I couldn’t change the name of one of the plugs. So I ended up deleting the app and reinstalling it. I was able to add the plug back with the correct appliance names without issue. Hopefully the rest of the plugs and switches will add back as easily. I will be purchasing a few more products now Thanks!! ### 5/5 — Toggle switch *2019-12-25, version 3.3.0* I have the Switchmate toggle light switch - battery operated and controllable through the app. I LOVE it. First time I had ever purchased anything like this: I’ve had it for over a year now, just replaced the batteries once, and I use it every day for my hallway light. I started it in my bedroom but I AirBnB my house and found it would be most useful in the hallway for when guests are coming and going because I can set a timer for it to come on and off easily. Absolutely love this and will be buying a few more. Does have an audible sound when flipping the switch but honestly easier than re-wiring and replacing your existing switches (which I ended up doing in my bedroom). ### 5/5 — Works well *2019-10-26, version 3.3.0* Using iPhone 8. App is easy to use. 😎 ### 5/5 — Fantastic App and Related Hardware *2019-10-13, version 3.3.0* These switches are a lifesaver for me being a totally connected home but not able to put switches in as I live in an older high rise with no neutral wires on the switches. The SwitchMate products complete my totally connected home and work like a charm. The switches do what they say and are a snap (pun intended) to install and get running. The hookup to Alexa was seamless and simple. Boo Hoo to you people who say ‘It takes 3 seconds for Alexa to turn them off.’ Lol What do you care? It does the job and who waits for Alexa to turn anything off anyway? You say it and leave. If you are watching to see if Alexa turned something off, then why don’t you just turn it off manually? As for you others that can’t get it to work with Alexa......Well, with no offense, that’s your ineptitude. It’s straight forward and flawless. I hate to see a company that we need to fill the gap of home automation be put down because people aren’t Tech savvy enough to get things working. These are great! I’ve seen so many bad reviews of this. It really makes me wonder how ungrateful these people are. “You should be able to tell Siri to turn it off”, “i have no problems with the updates but I have to be right next to it”... “I can’t control it with more than one phone”... first off you get what you pay for. I’m not saying it’s bad, but if you want all the bells and whistles you’re going to pay a more hefty price. There is nothing this app cannot do that is advertised. If you’re worried about making your life even more easy, after you have an app that controls your lights, you deserve to get up and turn your lights on. Be grateful you have electricity to turn on and off for 1, some people say yeah I work for my electricity to be paid, my house, my car, yeah I get that. And 2, be grateful YOU CAN REMOTELY CONTROL YOUR SWITCH... like what the heck... you can wirelessly turn your light on and off, how wonderful is that. Great! Right? We’ll be grateful we’re not in the Stone Age. If you don’t like it, buy a new product. This app turns the motor in the switch to turn my light on and off. That’s all I ask for, not a voice command robot to do as I ask all the way 5,000 miles away from my house. Magnets are super strong, the design of both the app and product also deserve 5 stars because they're excellent. I've been in home automation since the late 70s. With my old wiring I need several types of smart component to work in all area's. These switches fill a great void in my home automation.
