Amazing game, it was one of me favorites. The game cost like 10 bucks. Why would they think you would play a 5 bucks/month subscription for it? Play it on a switch or something. It’s way cheaper. I firmly believe this game has nurtured my taste in games. Now, every hit of dopamine and nostalgia is separated by paywalls asking me to subscribe to the “Netflix of mobile gaming”. What a tradjety that such a labor of love has become what it is. The game wasn’t free to make, is not free to maintain. Using ads is one approach to funding, but for many people it’s ads that ruin games by getting in the way of the experience. GameClub keeps the focus on the gameplay, not advertising opportunities. As someone who has been gaming on this platform since the start, GameClub is an incredible deal. So many great games would have disappeared forever if it hadn’t been for their preservation efforts. And that’s something I’m willing to pay for.
