## What is Swyx Mobile 2020?

STAY FLEXIBLE – WITH SWYX MOBILE

One decisive advantage of Swyx Mobile is being reachable under one single phone number. This means you can be reached at one single business number, no matter whether you are using a smartphone or a fixed phone. When using the Swyx App to make outgoing calls, your office number is displayed to the callee. Moreover, you can flexibly define call forwarding rules in the VoIP software from Swyx, thereby exercising a high level of control over your availability.

REQUIREMENTS

- iPhone or iPad with iOS 10 (or higher)
- SwyxWare 12.10 on server (or higher) with push notification service correctly installed and running
- Apple requires the use of TLS 1.2 for apps uploaded to the App Store. TLS 1.2 is enabled by default on Windows Server 2012, only. If your SwyxWare is running on a Windows system prior to Windows Server 2012 (e.g. Windows Server 2008 R2) you need to manually enable the use of TLS 1.2 on your server (https://www.swyx.com/support/ssdb.html?kbid=kb4894)


KNOWN RESTRICTIONS

- Don't use on SwyxWare lower than 12.10. For these please use the legacy app 'Swyx Mobile 2019' from App Store.
- No proper error notification when a new password doesn't meet the complexity requirements defined by the server
- Own user state is wrong if "SIP device" is not selected as "Login Device" for the user (needs to be set up by your admin)
- This Swyx app cannot be used with a Swyxware Advance / DeutschlandLAN Swyx server
- The use of h/w buttons of Jabra Stealth devices is not supported by Jabra, yet
- Non-login-relevant user settings are not transferred with easy transit mechanism from the app “Swyx Mobile 2019” (version 2.x) to “Swyx Mobile” (version 3.x)

### 2/5 — iOS 17 - am Ende geht nichts mehr zuverlässig

Also das in die Jahre gekommene Design der App ist ja noch halbwegs ertragbar, aber nach dem fehlenden App Update zur Anpassung an das neue iOS 17 ist die App mehr oder minder unbrauchbar.

Mal klingelt es, mal nicht. App wird im Hintergrund immer geschlossen, dann ist man offline.

Unsere IT in der Firma legt sich hier auch die Karten. 

[..]Im Netz der Telekom ist am iPhone 14Pro keine Verbindung zum Swyx-Server mobil möglich. WLAN oder anderer Netzanbieter geht. Das versteh mal einer 😅
Die arbeiten jetzt eine Woche an einer Lösung, aber bisher hat scheinbar nichts geholfen.

EDIT: Löschen der Netzwerkeinstellungen am iPhone hat geholfen.[..]

Wie sowas an Firmen als Businesslösung verkauft werden kann, ist mir ein absolutes Rätsel. Am Besten ist dann die Recherche an wen man sich wendet, wer ist denn dafür nun verantwortlich, Enreach, Swyx, das IT Systemhaus was die Software und Lizenzen vertreibt? 

Und seien wir mal ehrlich, jeder normal interessierte Nutzer weiß, dass es im September ein grosses iOS Update gibt. Nur die Programmierer von Swyx augenscheinlich nicht, wenn ich Stand heute sehe letztes Update vor 6 Monaten.

Leider ist nirgends die Option zu finden, wie sich die Swyx-Anrufe aus dem nativen iOS Protokoll ausblenden lassen?!

Leider beendet sich die App sofort wieder nach dem start. Wenn ich sie komplett neu installiere, mag es einen Tag lang funktionieren. Sobald das iPhone mal neu gestartet wird, stürzt die App wieder ab.

Gibt es eine Einstellung wo ich es deaktivieren kann, dass die Swyx Anrufe nicht in meinem anrufliste (vom IPhone) angezeigt werden sondern nur in der App unter Ereignissen bleiben ?

### 1/5 — Mindesthaltbarkeitsdatum abgelaufen

Jetzt steht auch offiziell das Mindesthaltbarkeitsdatum im Namen der App. Funktioniert zwar, ist aber kaum zu gebrauchen.

Ergänzung:
- Bei eingehenden Anrufen dauert der Rufaufbau sehr lang (ca. 5-6 Sekunden), egal ob man im WLAN ist oder 4G/5G verwendet.
- Die App klingelt noch eine weile weiter, wenn man das Gespräch z.B. mit SwyxIt entgegennimmt.
- Oft gibt es nur einseitige oder gar keine Verständigung (trotz guter Internetverbindung)
- CarPlay funktioniert eher schlecht

All das kann der Wettbewerb besser und viele meiner Punkte wurden auch schon vor Jahren in anderen Rezensionen angesprochen. Früher gab es etwa alle 2 Jahre ein neues Release. Diese Version ist jetzt schon 4 Jahre alt. Trotzdem bezahlt man regelmäßig Gebühren für die Softwarepflege. Die ganze SwyxWare hat seit fast zwei Jahrzehnten keine grundlegende Modernisierung erfahren. Der SwyxIt-Client bekommt mit jeder neuen Version einen neuen Skin, der aber auch im Jahr 2024 immer noch nicht in der Lage ist, mit High DPI-Bildschirmen umzugehen und der als Webbrowser immer noch auf den alten Internet Explorer setzt (ActiveX-Control).

Thema Carplay: Ring Central ist hier deutlich weiter. Selbst Teams lässt sich bei guter Datenverbindung problemlos im Auto nutzen. Eine Firma wie Swyx (Enreach) die auf Telefonie spezialisiert ist hat es leider seit Jahren nicht geschafft eine moderne App mit Carplay Unterstützung herauszubringen. Die App funktioniert mit SwyxOn recht stabil, ist aber vom Design und Bedienbarkeit einige Jahre zurück.

Mittlerweile funktioniert die App für uns ganz passabel und die schlimmsten Kinderkrankheiten sind gefixt. 
Die App ist etwas träge und es geht einfach nicht so angenehm von der Hand wie man das von anderen Apps gewohnt ist.
Somit von mir 4 Sterne.

Soweit funktioniert die App gut. Was ich mir allerdings wünsche ist die Möglichkeit, in der App auszuwählen das ich nur anrufe aufs Handy haben möchte die direkt von meiner Durchwahl kommen und nicht auch die von der Gruppe.

Finde die App Super. 
Seid dem wir diese nutzen sind die Handgeräte aus dem Büro verschwunden. 

Wenn man die Finger vom W-LAN lässt funktioniert sie 100 Prozent. 
Kann auch natürlich an unserem W-LAN liegen. 
LTE/5G alles Perfekt. 

Der Endogener für die Entwickler wären noch die Visual Contacts :-)

Wenn das noch funktionieren würde auf die Server Kontakte zuzugreifen dann wären es 5 Sterne mit Sternchen !!

Nach einer gewissen Zeit muss ich die App starten, da ich sonst nicht mehr angerufen werden kann - das iPhone klingelt dann einfach nicht mehr bei Abrufen.

Bitte auch unbedingt Unterstützung für CarPlay implementieren!

- You sent a message to a colleague and then realised that you had made a mistake? No problem. Just hold down your message and select 'Edit'. This is now also possible with iOS/iPadOS 16.
- Also, it bothered some users when we asked for a rating at sometimes inappropriate moments. Therefore, we have decided to remove the prompt. Of course, we are still happy about every positive review!

Sometimes it happened that the presence status in the own profile did not correspond to the one in the contacts/recents. We have corrected this. Also, some users have noticed an echo during a call, which should no longer occur with PJSIP version 2.12.1. There were also some crashes reported, which should now no longer occur due to a new database version.
