This app freezes to load frequently and it’s incredibly frustrating. I love this festival and find the app an easy way to check screenings and purchase tickets but the lag is killing me. You can easily check your tickets and display them at the cinema. It also has a good calendar. Its one weakness in the 2022 version is that it doesn’t let you select a seat when you book. On a Sunday morning, I contacted support to reverse a double booking and got an email with the solution within an hour. Superb service that works. No more paper tickets. Gives you basic things you need. But you cannot vote through the app. When you are on your ticket, it will not let you scroll down to get to the option to vote. I would have missed one of my movies today if I hadn’t checked my actual printed tickets. No use having it at all if it confuses rather than assists. It also keeps telling me it need to update, but then won’t actually update and then goes into a loop telling me it needs to update... epic fail again SFF ticketing... ### 3/5 — App has improved but can’t vote this year?! *2018-06-07, version 8.1.0* Seem to have lost the ability to submit a vote on iPhone X ? ### 2/5 — No sound *2018-06-04, version 8.0.9* There is no sound when playing trailers. It’s a shame cause otherwise a great app. ### 2/5 — No longer supports adding tickets to Apple Wallet *2018-06-02, version 8.0.9* Previous versions of this app allowed adding tickets to Apple Wallet, where it can be easily brought up to be scanned, or shared with those you're seeing films with. That feature has been inexplicably removed - now you have to open the app, and navigate to the correct tickets to bring them up, and it's no longer possible to send tickets to others without screenshotting the app. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Can’t use the app on dark mode *2026-06-04, version 9.0.6* Good luck trying to see your booked sessions if you use dark mode on your phone. Emailed support with screenshots a month ago and got no response. You’d think for a film festival app they’d consider the UX for people who might be using the app during the night when they’re seeing films. ### 1/5 — Could not access tickets from iPhone in cinema *2025-06-07, version 9.0.5* When in the cinema foyer, when I selected My Tickets to bring my tickets up, the App told me to Login & of course I couldn't login being inside the cinema & there being no signal. I had to go to the Box Office to get my tix printed. Once outside I went to re-login to the App but it immediately logged me in automatically. So basically the App was hopeless for showing tix. In hindsight I should have added them to Apple Wallet which I did for all my other tix so I don't have to use the App again. ### 1/5 — Ticketing service dysfunctional *2018-06-16, version 8.1.5* With the switch to Ferve ticketing, the app is now next to useless. Such a pity. Bring back Apple Wallet support, where you could download your ticket and getting into the cinema was orderly, rather than what is now a stressful experience where you are never sure if your ticket will download and display when needed. ### 1/5 — Nightmare on App Street *2018-06-08, version 8.1.2* Year on year the worst event and ticketing app - how SFF mange it with all that money is beyond me ### 1/5 — App version 8.1 won’t go online *2018-06-07, version 8.1.0* Current build won’t connect and no info is showing up. So it's a non-starter for me. Can't access my tickets. ### 2/5 — Not great UX *2021-10-24, version 8.9.5* The app is really frustrating. I’m disappointed I can’t filter by genre, language, festival stream (the program is overwhelming and too hard to navigate). I’m frustrated that it doesn’t automatically fill in my flexipass code. I’m very confused by the random extra tickets that keep appearing in my cart, e.g. I consistently add 2 tickets, and a spare third for the same day is also there. It’s weird and annoying. Also can’t actually add tickets to my cart on the iPad version. The whole experience is really frustrating. Please do better next year. ### 2/5 — Very buggy 2018 *2018-06-15, version 8.1.5* Almost daily updates during this festival, the app usually breaks, unable to login without deleting the app and logging in again to get access to your tickets.
