### 1/5 — Poorly compatible and doesn't work properly

I use Goodnotes and the app isn't working properly. The keyboard fills the entire screen, and sometimes I can't even get out of it. Also, when I only activate my favorites, the keyboard doesn't open. Could you please fix this? I really like the app, but in its current state, I just can't use it properly. For your information, I'm using the app on my iPad.

There are too many symbols and you cannot pick and choose. Therefore when you bring it up you must sift through a large amount to find the one you need. If you try to make a favorites list and only use those then they keyboard doesn’t work. It’s okay, but I’m sure there is something better

I love the fact that this adopted a UI familiar with anyone looking up Unicode symbols on macOS.

A few suggestions:

1. There doesn’t seem to be any way to see the description of the symbol. Sometimes there are very similar symbols and it’s useful to see the description so one can differentiate between them (e.g. what’s the difference between “–”, “—”, and “‒”).

2. Some symbols are missing or can’t be found. E.g. where is 𝓍 symbol? That’s the “mathematical script small x”. I can get lots of other examples if you need them.

3. I with there was a “related symbol” feature. E.g. Often we’re looking for a symbol that is related to the one we’re searching for. E.g. searching for “2” should show matches like “²”, “₂”, “②”, etc. There are 23 related symbols to the number “2”.

It is every useful app but it keep shifts upward and eventually I don’t see anything but keyboard. We all pay for this app but obviously developer updated an year ago. I wish there is other good keyboard app.

Hi everyone, 
Almost two years have passed since I last updated my Symbols app (which was my first iOS app ever!). A lot has changed since then but one of the things which remained constant is that some people still found this little tool very useful. I was surprised by the amount of emails I got when Symbols Keyboard stopped working properly last fall — apparently the app was still alive and being actively used. Sadly, at the time I was busy working on my more important projects and, being good at procrastination, fixing that keyboard issue took me a few months (but in reality I spent just about three hours on this bug). Anyway, sorry for the delay.

Note: iOS 8.3 or higher is required to properly display new Emoji.

Good News, Everyone! You can now enable custom iOS 8 keyboard to instantly access special text characters in any other app.

To enable Symbols Keyboard, go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add new keyboard → Symbols Keyboard → Allow Full Access.

Allow Full Access to keep relevant characters in sync across your devices. Symbols app doesn't process or send your personal data in any way.
