## What is Sympathetic?

Find your pace. Explore your heart's response.

Sympathetic brings guided breathing and personal physiology together on your iPhone. Follow a visual breathing guide with optional sound and haptic cues, choose a comfortable pace, and build a regular practice.

BREATHE AT YOUR PACE
Guided breathing is free and works without a chest strap. Choose your breathing rate, inhale/exhale balance and session length. Use Focus mode to keep the guide in view.

EXPLORE WITH POLAR H10
A Sympathetic H10 subscription unlocks Polar H10 connections, heart-rate and HRV feedback, breathing assessments, adaptive feedback and ECG recording. Review your response during training, browse saved waveforms and export recordings for your own analysis. A Polar H10 is required for these features and is sold separately.

SUBSCRIPTION OPTIONS
Choose an annual or monthly plan. The annual plan offers a lower cost than twelve monthly payments. Eligible new subscribers receive a two-week free trial, followed by automatic renewal at the price shown when subscribing unless cancelled. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Restore Purchases is available in the app. Previously saved records remain readable and exportable after a subscription ends.

KEEP YOUR PRACTICE PRIVATE
Your recordings and analysis stay on your iPhone unless you choose to export them. No app account, advertising or analytics. Apple processes subscription purchases. Optionally save confirmed breathing time to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes.

Sympathetic is an independent app and is not affiliated with Polar. It is for personal exploration and general wellness. Its scores, breathing estimates, ECG observations and single-lead measurements are experimental and are not intended for diagnosis, treatment or medical decisions.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5.6 — 2026-10-29

The live heart-rate-by-breath line is smoother and no longer breaks at the start of a slow exhale. Saved recordings are re-analysed with the same beat filter.

After a session, a progress bar shows the ECG check, and a compact indicator shows while the session saves. Breathing cues resume automatically when you return to the app, and the resonance estimate card links to its plots.

Expanding the ECG strip on Breathe no longer shows a blank screen. pNN50, RSA power, coherence and the R–R interval display have been removed to simplify the summaries; older records still open.

### 1.5.5 — 2026-10-25

Improved background ECG recording reliability. Analysis of saved recordings now pauses while recording or while the app is in the background.

Added a notification when ECG data stops arriving during a recording, so you can check your H10 strap and the recording.

### 1.5.4 — 2026-10-23

This update fixes ECG recording and recovery issues, improves handling of repeated sensor data, and refreshes older ECG analyses. It also fixes Records loading messages and time-zone updates, breathing sound transitions, Live Activity cleanup, and rating prompts.

### 1.5.2 — 2026-10-21

This update improves when Sympathetic asks for an App Store rating. Rating requests now work after sensor-free breathing sessions and count only active breathing time. You can still send feedback from Settings.

### 1.5.1 — 2026-10-20

Version 1.5.1 refines breathing sessions, resonance assessments and ECG review.

- Clearer active tabs, simpler navigation and compact session summaries.
- More detailed resonance results with response plots and uncertainty ranges.
- Improved adaptive pacing and Polar H10 reconnection.
- Faster ECG recording pages and refreshed analysis for older recordings.
- More consistent comparisons between sessions of similar length.
- Refined trends, recording details and exports.
