### 1/5 — STAY FAR AWAY FROM SYMPLAST

If you meet them at a convention or have a demo over zoom, instead of wasting time having them sugarcoat the software ask them the following basic things:  Do you offer FULL integration with Weave?  Answer is NO.  Do you offer lot number expiration tracking on your CRM, the answer is NO.  Can you process to FULL refund unrestricted without having to call your credit card processor?  Answer is also NO.  Can you process digital signatures on medical consents? Answer is also a NO.  Too many No’s and WAY TOO MANY “we are working it”

The newest update doesn't work. Symplast won't open on my macbook at all. It tries to open and automatically closes.

We have had this for over two years with a mixed cosmetic and reconstructive practice.  We wanted to make a transition to cloud based EMR and chose this program. If you like Matt computers, it is really well designed for that but it works just fine on PCs. It is probably best design for self-pay or cash based practices but the capabilities for insurance space work are solid. The features that I like the most as a clinician are the ability to share information with patients very easily in an encrypted format. It's particularly valuable in the upper Midwest, where we take care of patients who travel from a considerable distance and allows for good virtual care with sharing a photographs and documents and HIPAA compliant communication. The ability to access your notes and photographs while you are on the go or in the OR or at various surgical sites is indispensable. It really is the next standard of care and patients are delighted to have access to their own pre and postop photos.  They also are able to get their work restrictions related forms through the patient app which would otherwise require a trip to the office.  Furthermore, symplast is quite responsive with fixing bugs and getting timely answers to the inevitable issues that come up.  They take care of their clients

Choose any other company! It’s been a constant headache and nothing but problems. They will sell you on features just for them to not work or constantly have glitches. Do yourself a favor and go with another EMR.

The biggest issue I am having with Symplast is not being able to use my magic keyboard in the eRx function. My magic keyboard works in all the other functions; it does not work in the eRx function.

I was an early adopter of this program for my busy aesthetic plastic surgery practice. It replaced Patient Now and has been a godsend for modern plastic surgeons who want an app designed by a surgeon for surgeons. It makes my life so much easier and provides day to day operating eficiencies that can't be matched. I have my complete practice in the palm of my hand and can access my patient's data at any time from home in a HIPAA compiant safe manner. Day to day charting is a breeze as is scheduling and photo documentation. Best of all it was written for Mac from the ground up but will also work on PC's AND it is less expensive than competitors. There is a reason so many of us with experience and busy aesthetic practices choose Symplast

### 1/5 — Worst EMR Out There - DON'T waste your time or money

I have been in the plastic surgery & aesthetics industry for 14 years & have used almost every EMR system out there.  This is by the far the worst system.  I personally have worked with it for 2 years now.  First of all - if you are a business with more than 1 entity DO NOT even attempt to use this - it is not built for more than 1 location if you want funds to stay seperated.  The financials module is the worst I've ever seen.  There are constantly 'bugs' whitin the financial module, the system will calculate funds incorrectly - it will say a balance is due when it's not or show a credit on a patients account when there isn't.  This only leads to multiple customer service issues at the front desk.  There is NO edit feature for payments / refunds - so if anything is entered incorrectly like CC#, $ amount etc.  You have to DELETE and start over.  Then the deleted one just stays there, same color, same look, same everything with 'deleted' in one of the many columns. If a refund needs to be edited or deleted you have to submit a ticket to support, then they send that request to their 'technical team' & in 3-5 days it will be deleted.  The support techs do not document in activity notes what changes they've made, you can only see the changes if you know what they changed, then you can look at the history of that specific transaction.  There have been multiple 'bugs' within the scheduler - it will be off by a day (like Monday is on Sunday, Tuesday is on Monday, etc.). We did not realize this at first and scheduled a full clinic day on the wrong day and had to move an entire day of patients.  Same thing happened with the providers default schedules / templates & a vacation was off by a day & again patients were scheduled where a provider was on vacation and we had to move an entire day.  The system overall is not user friendly and there are SO MANY steps to do the simplest thing.  Our front office team is so frustrated with how long it takes to add a new patient and schedule an appointment. The intake form is built into the system and once the patient fills it out once, it can NOT be resent.  So for every new year when we need an updated H&P, we have to manually email out the form & then we have to MANUALLY enter the edits and scan in the document.  They are aware of this & have told me for 2 years it's a priority & there is no estimated date of an update still.  The virtual connect option was one of the selling points & its great when it works but half of our patients can't figure it out or they have an android so it won't work at all & then we have to set up a zoom.  The system is cloud based so when it's busy & everyone is logged in, the speed slows way down.  The only positive feedback I have is that I have access to everything on my phone, since it's an app, so i can see the schedule, patients accounts etc.  I am SO frustrated with this application - I spend way too much time fixing things that shouldn't be broken in the first place.  I am on first name basis with every support rep there.  They are all so kind & I am sure just as frustrated as I am.  We are exploring other options currently.  NexTech & Patient Now are the top 2 candidates.
