It is a deterrent, it’s a tactic and it is extremely unpleasant. They claim it as for security reasons, but that is dubious because I’m logged in with two factor authentication into my account and could provide another layer of identity verification online. It’s listed on my profile. It’s been used to send codes in the past 6 months. It’s a local number. Please fix this!! I’m sure I’m not the only one having issues. ### 3/5 — 👎 Tech needs improvement *2026-07-06, version 2.44.0* I’ve used Synchrony and I’ve used Marcus for High Yield Savings Accounts. If Marcus is able to do same day transfers for withdrawals then Synchrony should be up on the technology to do the same. It takes MANY days to transfer the money back into my linked account for a withdrawal. Also, when making a deposit into Synchrony, it leaves my linked account super fast, but showing as available in Synchrony is taking just an unreasonable amount of days…and that’s interest I’m losing. Synchrony is way behind on these two aspects. I have to use my desktop computer to view all but my money market accounts. Ridiculous. ### 1/5 — Land of inconveniences *2026-08-29, version 2.45.0* Incredibly long external transfer times and when I tried to initiate more than one transfer in a day it suspended my ability to make external transfers and took a long convoluted phone call with multiple automated menus and multiple people just to get it reinstated. If I try to transfer money from Synchrony to my bank, it takes a full week, sometimes longer. I won’t transfer any amount unless have electronic transfer! ### 1/5 — RUN!!! *2026-08-10, version 2.45.0* This bank is a joke, bankers can not talk no to no one, I have had synchrony since 2024, I have 2 HYS, 3 MMA accounts and a CD, my account have been locked for 2 times the most previous one on July 27th, bankers are not helpful, no one is trying to resolve the issue of me getting back into my accounts through the app or taking the restrictions off my account even after verification with my main bank account where all my money gets transferred from to synchrony, no fraud activity has been on my account the only fraudulent activity seems to be this bank it’s self, it has came to the point I have filed a complaint with Comptroller of the Currency office to try and get this matter resolved ### 1/5 — Synchrony stinks! *2026-07-27, version 2.44.0* I have not been able to do a transfer for months without having to call customer service. Their system refuses to accept my cell number to send a code. Doing transfers now takes about 15 minutes to complete. Ridiculous!!! ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2026-07-24, version 2.44.0* I opened up a high yield savings account online and put in money for it but 3 days later i was locked out of my account and was told to wait 3 days for my account to reopen and nothing. Then I called like 3 times and they kept telling me to wait 3 days. At this point I didn’t want anything with this bank and I told them to give me my money back and they told me 3 days it would be refunded and I still haven’t received anything. I’m super annoyed since I had high hopes but they just ended up taking my money. Till this day I haven’t received anything and it’s been more than a month. For anyone that wants to open an account, be careful because they will not refund you your money.
