If you leave the oboe to do its thing, it will pause the uploads and likely have a connection error when you return to check its progress. The interface is also seriously lacking…of you have a batch batch of photos to upload, you can’t “select all” and skip what’s already there. Auto uploads seems to not work, etc. Mobile connectivity is a major selling point for your NAS, and it fails. Let alone the fact that you have multiple apps and it should all be included into one. ### 3/5 — Need improvement *2023-10-15, version 1.3.4* This app is a must for photo back up and organization. The back up function is easy to use. However, the organization function is bad. Also, the app keep frozen on iPad every several months. I have to unload it and reset the app. Really annoying. Suggestion: - Improve the photo search ability. - keep the original album created from the device when backing up. - add the function to delete unwanted faces in face recognition page. ### 2/5 — hay que dejar la app Moments abierta *2023-07-31* lo dicho, hay quedar la app abuerta y con la pantalla encendida para que se suban las fotos y videos del iphone al synology. En el momento que se apaga la pantalla se para la transferencia de fotos. Penoso. Actualizado iphone 11 a última versión de iOS y sigue igual. Tampoco funciona ir y marcar en la app de Moments en el iphone actualizar en segundo plano. no creo que repita marca en la compra de mi siguiente Nas solo por este fallo. ### 2/5 — Slow and iOS app needs to be open to backup *2022-11-14, version 1.3.4* As soon as the moments app is in background or screen is locked on iOS it stops backing up!!! I guess at least the photos are backed up but combine that with horrendous backup speeds and it’s a big chore. I have to turn off auto locking and leave the app in the foreground ### 2/5 — Could be great *2022-04-27, version 1.3.4* Very similar to the iCloud experience but the backup takes forever and often fails. I leave my phone on at night to do the backup and rarely it completes. Have to restart it. Photos do take a while to buffer even when on wifi and videos sometime time out trying to load. Browser seems to work better for loading videos but I would expect it to work better on wifi at least. No updates in over a year kind of sucks. Please keep updating this. А пока что есть ### 4/5 — can’t download live photo after uploading *2021-11-01, version 1.3.4* This app can only upload iphone’s live photo, but can not download live photo from this app. I hope developers can add this function, or can edit live photo to choose which single photo to download. ### 2/5 — Needs improvement *2021-10-06, version 1.3.4* Background upload is the major issue with this app. Another problem with Moments is the quality of playbacks of videos uploaded. However, there are some good features that exist in Moments but not in the newer app Photos. Will continue using moments for time being. ### 3/5 — Gute Idee mit Ausbaupotenzial *2021-09-19* Die App an sich finde ich super. Vor allem die Möglichkeit, ohne Begrenzung Bilder in der (eigenen) Cloud zu speichern und dazu noch ohne Begrenzung. Allerdings muss für mich vor allem der Update der Fotos noch deutlich verbessert werden! Aktuell funktioniert der nur bei geöffneter App und entsperrten Display so wirklich. Wenn man dann einmal alles hochladen will ist das Handy über eine ganze Zeit nicht mehr zu nutzen. Und irgendwann stellt man dann fest das seit Februar nichts mehr hochgeladen wurde .. And if you aren't paying attention you wouldn't notice. I'm too afraid to attempt "clean" to see if the ones if doesnt copy are left behind. This is a HUGE flaw. ### 1/5 — Отстой *2021-08-05* Перестали работать приложения на версии DSM 7 ### 2/5 — Good idea, poor execution *2021-08-04, version 1.3.4* I recently purchased a Synology NAS, with one of its use cases being that I could be less reliant on Apple cloud technologies to store and retain my personal photos. I was hopeful that the Moments app would do the trick, but it only kind of works. In the sense that it can grab your photos off of your phone and back them up to the NAS, it works. However, it does an absolutely HORRIBLE job of interpreting the metadata associated with each photo. I have photos that I took years ago that are showing up as just having been taken yesterday! For whatever reason Moments is unable to properly decode the date metadata, so from an organizational and searching perspective the app is a major failure. I’m unsure if I’ll continue to utilize it until such time as Synology can fix this very basic issue with the app’s functionality. ### 4/5 — Could be amazing - but does the job *2021-07-21, version 1.3.4* I upload photos from previous years in its entirety and consider this more of a place to archive all photos other than the current year and works fine. For example I have all photos up to 2020 and when 2021 is complete I will upload in its entirety. Kind of like tax returns. Yes it’s a little clunky here and there but having all your photos over 10 years is kind of cool. I then just use iCloud for just the current year and pay 3 a month for the simplicity of the apple photos app but not paying 10 a month for their high tier. Seriously apple needs to get with the times with cloud space. I just want all my photos in one place without having to pay $120 a year. But using two apps is I guess the next best thing. ### 4/5 — Ora SI bravi ma ci manca ancora qualcosa 🔝 *2021-07-20* Per arrivare al Top dovete avvicinarvi sempre di più a Google Photos. Spero di darvi una mano con le recensioni 😊😊 e comunque Bravi l’App è migliorata sicuramente molto. -Avete migliorato molto l’indicizzazione ottimo 👌 -Ok per le Live Photos. -Velocità Caricamento Download/Upload Ok Da migliorare: -caricamento foto in Background, bisogna sempre aprire l’App per sincronizzare. Non va bene. Deve farlo in continuo ed in automatico. -Selezione multipla: date la possibilità di selezionare in sequenza più foto scorrendo con il dito a video e non solo una ad una... se si hanno molte foto non ti passa più 😅😅😅 -Geolocalizzazione Photo: Deve essere più precisa ed in oltre si vede una mappa troppo piccola nella sezione info delle foto, sarebbe utile poter vedere un collegamento che ti apre l’App Mappe così da poter visualizzare bene dove sono state scattate. -Sarebbe magnifico se ci fosse la possibilità di scegliere,una volta caricate le foto su Moments, Di poter decidere quando si eliminano le foto da Moments di farle eliminare anche dal Rullino di IPhone oppure no. Come su Google Photos. -Anche una Sezione separata di Autocomposizione di Album-Ricordi con possibilità di modifica sarebbe davvero il Tooop🔝. Background uploads, not having to create several backups from different devices (iPad/iPhone) but same iCloud library…. But the ability to keep backups of all videos/pic and offload them iCloud - yet have them on my private cloud is great. When is this gonna be fixed!!!!!????? ### 1/5 — Add option to skip photos that failed to backup *2024-01-02, version 1.3.4* Just as duplicates can be set to automatically skip, there needs to be a toggle (probably on by default) to skip items that cannot be backed up due to the file format. You should not stop backing up files just because you run into one file you don't understand; skip it and move on. By the way this still feels like a bad way to handle it, and you should just backup the file even if it isn't in a format that you can understand. What's the point of a photo app that A) doesn't understand all of the photo formats and B) refuses to back anything up that it doesn't natively handle? It's a file, copy it over and just leave a blank thumbnail because it doesn't understand the file. That's what it does inside the gallery when it doesn't understand the new RAW formats that the latest iPhones take. ### 1/5 — No longer available *2022-03-06, version 1.3.4* So, this worked great until I upgraded to dsm 7.0. I am so glad to be out of the Apple eco system. No joking, I spent about a year or more trying to get out of Apple photos. Once your photos were uploaded to iCloud it’s virtually impossible to get them back out and Apple know this. Especially if you have 150GB or more photos. Well done synology such an easier to use product with brilliant features.
