## What is SynScan?

Use the SynScan app to control Sky-Watcher telescope mounts via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth LE. Mounts without built-in Wi-Fi can be supported via a SynScan Wi-Fi adapter.

This version of the SynScan app is suited for novice users using alt-azimuth mounts.

### 2/5 — Stark eingeschränkte Nutzungsfähigkeit

Wenn alles erst einmal eingestellt ist, wird das ein oder andere Objekt auch zuverlässig angefahren und nachgeführt. 

Aber auf dem Weg dahin gibt es so viele sinnlose Hindernisse…

Beispiel gestern Abend, Südfrankreich:

Alles, was die App als 1.  Stern für die „Hellster Stern Ausrichtung“ anbietet, ist Altair und Arktur. Der Himmel ist voll heller Sterne wie Wega, Deneb etc., aber nur diese beiden können gewählt werden. Zum Glück war nur Arktur von einem Baum verdeckt…. 

Nächste Hürde dann der 2. Stern: die Liste ist lang, aber bis auf Polaris kein einziger bekannter Stern. Später in der Nacht ist dann wenigstens Saturn mit in der Liste. Da kann man dann zumindest überprüfen, ob das, was man im Okular hat, auch wirklich der besagte zweite Stern ist.

Wenn das aber nicht der Fall ist, sieht man das Ergebnis bei Deep-Sky-Objekten deutlich: Nichts. 
Weil schon die Ausrichtung nicht korrekt war.

Nächster Problempunkt: 
Die App schlägt keine sinnvollen Deep Sky Objekte vor. 
(obwohl das schon vor 20 Jahren 30 Minuten der Handcomputer meines Meade ETX konnte und auch bei Celestron-Anfängerteleskopen normal ist)
Sie können nur aus vier Katalogen über die Katalognummer ausgewählt werden, und bei manchen kommt dann ein Name, bei anderen bekannten Objekten nicht. 
Und nicht einmal das Sternbild wird angegeben, so dass man dann etwas auswählt und das Teleskop sonstwo hin fährt, in Richtung Hauswand oder tiefen Horizont. 

Und wenn man bekannte Objekte auswählt, wie zum Beispiel den RingNebel in der Leier  M 57, so bleibt oft das Go-To-Symbol grau statt rot, man kann es nicht anfahren, obwohl es direkt über einem ist. Was soll das?

Eine sehr gut gebaute App, intuitiv, mit großem Steuerungsfeld. Ich benutze sie am iPhone mit einer Skywatcher AZ-GTiX Montierung für die Fernglassteuerung 20x110.

Ich habe schon einige Apps mit sehr bescheidenen Steuerfeldern benutzt am IPhone, bei denen ich nachts schier verzweifelt bin weil sie viel zu klein waren und ich ständig auf der falschen Taste landete. Sehr gut gelöst ist auch die Verstellung der Motorgeschwindigkeit. Außerdem gibt es nicht nur horizontale oder vertikale Bewegung, sondern auch diagonal!

iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 16.0.2. I can connect to the AZ-GTi’s Wi-Fi but can’t connect to it inside the app(prompts ‘no device found’). I believe the dev needs to update the network component of the app to be compatible with the latest iOS versions. I’ve tried the Android and Windows app as well and they work fine. But my primary device is my iPhone, so this iOS-only issue is quite frustrating.

When using the down arrow for slewing, the app often crashes and you have to start all over which often loses the target in the eyepiece.  Come on devs…..two years? This hobby is growing quickly so don’t get left behind by poor functionality.

De nombreuses critiques comme quoi l’application ne fonctionnerait pas avec les applications de planétarium… et pour cause : l’application ne demande pas l’autorisation pour l’actualisation en arrière plan ! L’application ne prend pas non plus en charge l’affichage côte à côte… pourtant ça serait bien pratique justement pour avoir une application de planétarium à côté. L’application force même l’orientation de l’affichage en portrait, c’est pour dire à quelle point elle est à la ramasse !
