One question I have as I had noticed recently that the “special edition” has auv3 support. If we want that functionality do we need to shell out another $5 or are you planning on bringing that functionality here? Thanks for all your work, I own all your other apps that aren’t SE too and they are just as fun and there is so much to explore :) ### 5/5 — Excelente *2019-10-13, version 1.7.9* Una aplicación en la que lo primero que llama la atención es el exquisito cuidado con el que está realizado el diseño, de una factura impecable y que aunque al principio pueda abrumar un poco demuestra ser totalmente racional. Aquí no hay nada de “adorno”, todos y cada uno de sus detalles de sus estructura son funcionales, y también por eso el aprendizaje en su uso lleva un tiempo. Pero a la altura de las expectativas, y por si abrumase su interfaz, la app viene provista de un extenso tutorial donde desglosa cada uno de los aspectos de esta maravillosa aplicación. La calidad y complejidad de sonidos que se pueden obtener con un poco de trabajo de esta pequeña obra de arte es, sencillamente, abrumadora. The Dev stuck with me day in and day out until a fix was found about a week later. This Dev really goes above and beyond to help his customers. The service that I have gotten this week alone has made me a customer for life. Instabuy for any app from this DEV. One of my most beloved, go to, must have synths. So beautifully and brilliantly designed. Many, many thanks and hats off to this Dev who really cares and is committed to his customers. Cheers to this top notch Dev! ### 5/5 — Wooo! *2019-08-04* I have Soundscaper and Fieldscaper, along with a million other synth apps. I wasn’t all that eager to get this one in addition, but boy was I wrong! I just spent a couple of hours literally playing with it, and it’s one of the most amazing synths I’ve ever heard. I can only barely comprehend everything that’s going on, but it doesn’t matter. Just tweaking the endless controls, and pushing the random button now and then brings up vast quantities of beautiful weird sounds, musical and otherwise. Bravo to the programmer! This is truly genius! ### 5/5 — Top Synthesizer *2019-06-22, version 1.7* Uno dei migliori synth nello store ### 5/5 — Outstanding synth *2019-06-12* I, like many others who use iOS, either as noise engineers or musicians, have upwards of 40 synths. Each one has a flavour all its own. That being said, there are always going to be favourites. Synthscaper, is now, along with Animoog and Digital D1, my favourite. I don't know if the designer has a mind like mine, or the interface is just easy for me, but within a few hours of use, I have managed to get my head around the way it works. Like Audulus 3, the interface is exciting, without being too complex, and you feel that everything is in its right place, and is necessary. All feedback is largely obvious, with the exception of some graphical flourishes, but then I can live with that. The sheer control of all the Oscillators, LFO's, Envelopes etc, just leaves you in awe at how it all got crammed in. The work flow, while to some may seem odd, is very intuitive for me. There are still a few things that need sorting, but these are just niggles. Being able to create unique and interesting sounds is what Synths were invented for. Being able to then use this in a musical composition easily makes for a rewarding experience that has elevated this above many of the others. With the latest update, the Developer has added nicely thought out tweaks to the UI that make life easier, especially when editing presets. The change in colour for the OSC tabs does improve the interaction, because now I will know which oscillator matches which setting within the menu quicker. It's subtle changes like this that make all the difference. All in all a superb synth that helps create superb and rich textured sounds. Fresh ideas differing from Vintage Clones. So far the best iTool for the ambitious Contemporary synthesist in between sounddesign and playing Music with uncommon customized new Sounds. Thumbs up, as usual with v‘ s Genius Apps. ### 5/5 — More Potential Than I Know What To Do With! *2018-08-30* Pros: - Layers upon layers of user control - A room full of analog/digital audio tech in your hand - Developers still update and improve app - Multiple feasible applications - Relatively cheap for capabilities Cons: - Harsh learning curve - User can’t create own UI color palette If you are serious about making music, sound effects, or audio based environments, this app is one of the best things you can get without spending a ton of money limiting yourself to a desktop and a room full of analog machines. The amount of freedom this app gives the user is amazing for a mobile format. If you are an audio engineer, music maker, or just someone trying to burn some free time, please try this app out and give the developers some love. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — User Interface Hell *2018-04-26* Sounds great but the interface is very subjective. Numeric parameters float in mid air with no textual titles, dials with no indication what they do, modal dialogue boxes that require you to dive in and out of multiple times to do the simplest of things. Buttons that don’t have borders and look like plain text. All of which can be found in the manual I am sure. But absolutely nothing to aid the beginner otherwise, from a ergonomic point of view it’s a complete mess. Still works, but unlike its little brother, only works as an IAA app and so clunky when trying to use in a host, such as AUM. No updates for 6 years, no AUv3 compatibility, such a waste of a great - and at the time I bought it - relatively expensive - app. ### 3/5 — Why isn’t this an AudioUnit? *2024-11-28* Awesome synth app. Great palette of unique sounds. Problem is it can’t be used in NanoStudio2, Logic Pro or any other DAW I have. Kind of useless IMO without that type of functionality. Okay this synth has been around awhile, and I’ve have been using it for several years, and it NEVER gets old sound designing with this synth… I call it a synth but it is so much more than just a synth. It’s a literal BEAST and it serves so many endless possibilities of placement within my music (and I play a lot of Heavy Metal) I write with a guitar acoustic, or electric, and then will go back and lay Bass, drums, and vocals, then I will go in and begin to layer, and this thing allows you to add so MUCH into 1 preset that there is nothing you can’t fully do with this 1 synth! The warmth that this synth brings to a sample that you load makes this synth more like a sampler/synth! I will open an empty preset and have 9 sounds that I can add by browsing the pre-installed sounds, or pull my own sounds in by Dropbox, I will add a cello in say the C1 octave range and maybe add Bass in the -1 Octave then and then add a muted piano in the C3 range…switch to the 2nd slot and add maybe some thunder, then a gentle rain, as well as adding someone breathing in the -1 octave then the third slot and add a haunting wind in the C0 octave range, and then add some drama by adding someone distorted guitar! I will then go to the effect page and it is ready for some complex effecting on each slot! I will play 1 note and it’s like a cinematic film sound track! It’s an amazing app, but just lacks this one major feature.
