But even though capability for the app says IOS 4.3 and up, it totally doesn't work with my IOS 10.3. Years ago when it did work, it didn't work with anything in any useful way. I wish that I never bought the Synth Station 25. I think that I am done with Akai for good. ### 4/5 — I wish this app was still alive. *2016-09-08, version 3.2* This is actually one of the fattest sounding, authentic sounding synths in the App Store. It really has that Akai kind of sound, the filters especially. I used to have an Akai AX60 that was one of my favorite vintage synthesizers, and this can get some very similar sounds. But, unfortunately it hasn't been updated since 2012. It works if it's the only app running, but with too many other apps going it will crash on opening it. It doesn't have some of the features that have become standard in synth apps in recent years, such as AudioBus, InterApp Audio, Midi Learn (for external controllers) etc. It's a shame, because it sounds great. I keep coming back to it with all the other synth apps I've bought. I'd say it's definitely worth the low price point they have it at now. I don't know if the software company that developed it went bust or what, but I hope someday, somehow, Akai picks it back up again. ### 4/5 — Cool studio *2016-09-08* Works fine on ios 7.12. Those who experience crashes - close forcibly any already running instances of the app and relaunch it. Those who have no sound - switch of silent mode (a switch near volume buttons) switch on your iPad. Работает нормально на ios 7.12. Akai really ought to keep their Apps alive .. after all they’re just the MPC60 in various guises because the S900 / S950 and original MPC are the only Akai products worth bothering with .. the S1000/ 1100 series was a step backwards from the S900 / S950 which was a work of genius and sounded great .. this App is toast because Akai haven’t updated it .. no point buying anything else because it’s all same same .. ### 1/5 — Another waste of money on Retronyms! *2025-12-19, version 3.2* I wasted money on apps from Retronyms and later on I regretted since that developer isn’t any good at all. Geld zurück !!! *2019-03-13* Mein synthstation keyboard funktioniert tadellos und gibt mit jeder anderen app Ton aus - nur nicht mit der eigens dafür gedachten App. Ipad 1 mit IOS 5.1.1 (9B6205) Alles scheint zu funktionieren, Tasten, Pads , Wheels usw, nur eben keine Audioausgabe. Hab schon Neuinstallation probiert, erfolglos. Das grenzt an Betrug ! Akai antwortet mir, apple hätte irgendwelche Paramter verändert, deswegen funktioniere die App nicht mehr richtig! (unglaubwürdig, die alten IOS versionen haben sich doch nicht mehr verändert!) Und das beste: ich soll mein Geld von apple zurückfordern. Hallo??? warum verkauft ihr diese App OBWOHL ihr wisst dass sie nicht mehr funktioniert? **Developer response:** Apologies, for the frustation. This app can no longer be supported on more recent versions of iOS it was from the very early days if iOS music. Apple has significantly changed the platform since then in some ways as a result of this product driving a revolution of mobile midi.
