### 2/5 — Fingers crossed

*2024-09-13, version 1.2.4*

Is Syntronik 2 coming to iPad?

### 2/5 — Sehr unschön

*2024-08-25*

### 3/5 — Some okay sounds, but not worth the cost

*2024-01-21*

IK Multimedia’s pricing model is confusing at best. I’ve sorted out that Syntronik CS comes with only 4 instruments and a handful of patches. This version comes with 17 instruments and I think 50 patches. But if you’re going to do it, just download the CS version and pay the $99 for Deluxe and call it a day. That comes with everything they offer.

Be aware though, if you have the desktop version, this is NOT an iPad version of that. It’s Syntronik 1 not 2, and if you do what I tried and manually match some of the patches from the desktop version, just know that they will either not sound anywhere near the original, or close but not exact. Some of the effects are missing, and since this is v1 and not v2, the entire advanced Edit panel is missing.

One other annoyance is that I found several places where it was advertised that you could purchase single synths in the store. That is NOT the case. All links in the Synth manager just take you to the store where there are only 2 products. $79 or $99.

The final annoyance was that once I spent the money on this version, it disn’t give me a discount on the higher tier versions, so if you plan to upgrade, it’ll still cost you full price. So again, try out the CS version and then just decide if you want to buy the $79 or $99 packages. Don’t bother with this one unless you plan to tinker a lot and make your own sounds.

### 2/5 — Not Terrific

*2023-04-23, version 1.2.4*

I paid £14.99 and what I’ve seen and heard has potential. But it’s just okay and I won’t be using it for anything. The price of the full pack is just ridiculous. Knowing what I know now would I pay £14.99 for what is basically a demo version again, No? Would I recommend it, No? Very Disappointing.

### 3/5 — Update!!!!!!!!!!!

*2022-09-21, version 1.2.4*

2 years and no update for improvements

### 3/5 — A giant Rompler with some MixBox effects.

*2022-08-09*

If you purchase full package this eats up 6.2GB of storage. While the effects are nice. The app is kinda clunky. Changing presets take forever as they have to load giant sample files for each preset. Needs trimming down. Sounds very nice but not spectacular. Sound tends to be a bit on the distorted side (not in a good way). I have noticed that with Most IKM apps on ISO. I have SampleTron and it also has a similar distortion with no effects. Hopefully they will make one that models the synths instead of a ROM Player with IR effects.

### 2/5 — Not an Emulator

*2022-05-07, version 1.2.4*

I was expecting at least the character of the synths to change from device to device but it’s really the same synth engine wrapped in different skins. It’s blatantly misleading. The proof is in the FM synths. They’re the same two oscillators as in the analogue ones. So again, the same synth each time, just wrapped in a different skin.

### 2/5 — Interface ruim, não justifica o preço alto.

*2021-10-25*

Evitem.

### 4/5 — Sounds great, some UI issues.

*2021-05-30*

Pretty much as the title says. A great sounding, tweakable sample-based synth module that is let down by a couple of minor UI issues affecting 11 inch iPads. In standalone mode, the keyboard and mod wheel are cut in half, making the onscreen keyboard unplayable, even for trying out presets. As an AUv3 in AUM, the UI doesn’t scale correctly. IK, please fix these minor issues.

### 3/5 — Promising app but needs work!

*2021-05-13*

***WILL UPDATE AS APP IS REVISED***

I was pretty skeptical of the concept but had to give this a chance because CS Box is such a great app. That said, this was a pleasant surprise in terms of sound quality!

Then you are confronted with the fact that at $9.99 you only get two sounds per synth?

The interface, leaves something to be desired and feels cluttered. CS Box has such a direct and intuitive interface. In particular, I wish the synth browsing section was cleaner.

Wish List:

• Get rid of In App Purchasing!*
• MIDI implementation needs work
• Please add MPE (Midi Polyphonic Expression)
• Clean up interface
• Allow for user samples to replace stock sounds!
• Even better, create modules CS Box Style, so you could mix and match components from different synths (ie. Sounds from Wavestation, Filter from Oberheim, Chorus from Jupiter, etc)

* I wish IK and developers would do away with in app purchases, unless the paradigm is free to demo and then you buy all the content as a whole. The price is exorbitant as is but will keep an eye out for this to go on sale!

### 1/5 — Wucher!

*2020-08-29*

Wo sind die individuell einstellbaren Oscillatoren?

### 2/5 — User interface needs a lot of work.

*2020-08-21*

Simply loading a synth is confusing. Instead of just being able to pick a synth and load it, you first have to pick one of the banks, select a synth and select a preset. Then you have to tap the tiny pic of the synth to get to the controls. It’s not exactly conducive to just starting from scratch. And you have to register an account just to access the help file, which is sketchy. I already paid for the app, and this is completely unnecessary and frustrating if you just want to learn to use the thing. To get the keyboard up on an iPhone screen, you have to access a menu and tap the option for Extended, instead of simply swiping from the bottom like a lot of other apps do (or just have the keyboard always up and have the control panel for the synth scrollable). There are some other things that need to be addressed, but these are some of the major ones. I already wish that I hadn’t spent the $15.

### 4/5 — Hermoso pero,

*2020-08-01*

Hey!

*2020-04-24*

Buoni suoni, gestione midi pessima. Comportamenti inattesi e imprevedibili ne fanno uno strumento inutilizzabile in live in abbinamento a software di midi routing. Troppi crash. Peccato.

### 3/5 — Sounds Fantastic! But such a mess↸⇀↱⇒⇓↨

*2020-04-16*

Undeniably rich layers of analog sounds make this an excellent sounding app, however the UI seems to compound some organizational issues that are present.
Maybe there are just too many parameters within each section .
Maybe there are too many sections - several synth voices multiplied by synth type and synth parameters, an extensive effects rack of up to 5 effects, arpeggios ... each section feels locked away from the others and if you do manage to get multiple synth tracks playing simultaneously there’s no visual cue as to which one you are editing ... maybe it deserves more time and another star, but it just doesn’t add up to other stuff that’s available.

*2019-11-12*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No longer opens

*2025-01-11, version 1.2.4*

Paid for all extras but now won’t open. All I get is adverts for iRig. Complete scam.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2024-12-24, version 1.2.4*

This app doesn’t work on the latest OS. Have deleted and reinstalled to no avail.

### 1/5 — Sehr guter Sound aber…

*2024-04-12*

stürzt unter AUM und Audiobus ständig ab :-(

### 1/5 — Mise à jour svp

*2023-08-15*

### 1/5 — Pretty F**king disappointed

*2022-03-19, version 1.2.4*

I’ve seen some rips before but nothing like this for $23, let’s just say it’s very light on the presets and to get the ‘ more ‘ version is a small fortune it makes me wonder what the free version gets. Also in spite of the hype it’s not very good unless you want to tweak, and tweak you shall but there isn’t much to tweak because it’s sample based so… buy the more version or get sweet F/A for your money, I’ll be sticking to the sweet F/A version because IK multimedia is not ever getting another cent of mine, I figure I could make it do some weird acid loops if nothing else, it functions.. that’s about it and most other apps can do it better for less. Sorry IK, you screwed me over, you made me believe there was a full package here and there isn’t, that makes you dishonest liars and you should include everything to compensate everyone who paid for this app. Liars.

### 1/5 — One sound…. All I Got

*2022-02-18, version 1.2.4*

You browse instruments. Pick the one you want and load it, then select the sound (usually only one or two choices). Then play. You get one crappy sound. Switch instrument and preset and you get the same sound, even with only 1 instrument loaded at a time. Don’t buy this even if it’s free

### 1/5 — Scam within a scam

*2021-08-21, version 1.2.4*

If you, like me, are dumb enough to plop down money for this, hoping, reasonably, for some synth goodness, forget it. Wanna upgrade? You need at least thirty more quid. This price point is something like multi level marketing, ie, a scam. I don’t know why this company never bothers researching legit competition properly. I am expecting a refund, right now. No more scams, here or elsewhere.

### 1/5 — Subpar and outdated

*2021-03-25, version 1.2.4*

Subpar synth sounds, nothing that stands out. Too expensive for the app and the price to add additional synths. No AUV3, basic midi, and very basic editing. Desperately need updating.

### 1/5 — Syntronik

*2020-12-20*

### 1/5 — App freezes seconds after starting

*2020-12-19, version 1.2.4*

The app use to work beautifully, now it freezes seconds after starting. It has become unusable. I have tried it both on my iPad Pro and my iPhone XS and it does not work. Please please please fix it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Just a Thought

*2022-11-17, version 1.2.4*

Syntronik is awsome. Love that we can layer! What happened to Syntronik 2 for iOS?? Come on, I’d purchase.

### 5/5 — Muy buen AUV3

*2022-10-13*

Muy buen Auv3

### 5/5 — Beautiful!

*2021-07-26*

I love this suite of legendary and vintage synths. Very inspiring and very usable. Presets sound so good. Great interface. Perfect tweakability of synths. Essential yet deep. And the effects are fantastic. Ability to layer synths and is a nice touch. And it is universal an interface that works on an iPhone. The IAPs are worth it. Only synth app I need for recording and live performance.

### 5/5 — Professional Grade...

*2020-03-08*

...music production is possible. You have to approach this instrument like a professional to get professional results. You also have to be creative to see the endless possibilities for solid and useful music production with this app. Good sounds and decent sound design capabilities. It’s is worth the money for pros and deeply dedicated hobbyists. There are plenty of nice synths to obtain in the App Store to if you don’t want to spend the money here. This app is worth its price to those that know how to use it. Budget buyers have a lot of other options. So you don’t have to diss this app for being out of your price range. Those reviews and ratings are unfair and unnecessary because people already know the price. The good reviews tell ikmultimedia how to improve the UI and playability and fix bugs.

Long story short: For full price there are nice synths...even better with processing through your choice of fx. Some sound design is here with many presets to get you started. Your musicality and creativity will determine what you get but this is a legit resource for making great and professional sounding music. Integrate it with other gear to get your own unique sound design.

### 5/5 — Spettacolare!!!!!

*2019-07-05*

Ho acquistato i pacchetti Roland....goduria totale!!!!!!

### 5/5 — Muito bom porém!

*2019-06-27*

### 5/5 — Why do idiots leave so many stupid reviews?

*2019-06-04, version 1.2.2*

For £50 this is an awesome collection if synths that work seamlessly in DAWs.
Messed around with the free synths for a while to make sure I wouldn’t be throwing money away but after a week or so, rather than buy individual synths, the obvious choice was to buy the lot.
No ifs or buts about it - this is a really well made app with a wide range of synth emulations. Definitely nit an app aimed at anyone just wanting to mess around- however, the fact you don’t need to pay for it to try it out means you find this out for yourself before wasting money on something you won’t use to its full potential.

Awesome FX rack too.

Without a doubt, definitely a 5 star app. Ignore all the 1-star reviews - I mean come on, if you really think this only deserves 1 star, it would seem the problem is you, not the app.

### 5/5 — Keyboard UI issues (4/2019) but amazing sounds

*2019-04-22, version 1.2.2*

Quality and variety is fantastic. But keys are unusable unless you play the very upper part of each key or hold a note while playing others. Hope this is fixed soon. Seems odd that keyboard isn’t a basic component for iOS apps that can be added without custom development, right?

Keep the hits coming!

### 5/5 — Simply amazing

*2019-01-27*

I recently re-ignited my synthesizer-life with a couple of great
hardware pieces of which I am very fond.

Then I discovered Syntronik and thought that it would be nice to have some of the classic synths at my fingertips without spending all the money on buying and maintaining them.

Starting with Blau and OXa, I was quickly mesmerized and deeply drawn into the realms of Syntronik.
Even if you are into sound-sculpting: you have a wide array of impressive modulation possibilities in the effect-section of this very user friendly software.

And the sound? Running the app on iPhone and iPad, I could not wish for a more elaborate and awe-inspiring soundscape.

Said enough: try the free version and see for yourself.

IK, I salute you!

### 5/5 — Wie immer Best Sound garantie

*2018-11-15*
