### 1/5 — Look elsewhere

*2023-08-10*

The robot is good annoying that I gotta empty it every 10 minutes
The app is horrible I wish I spent my money on a different brand

### 1/5 — Unreliable and annoying

*2023-07-19*

Keeps losing connectivity to the wifi to where have to do a hard reset. The hard reset requires pushing down on the buttons long enough to make it reset. Sometimes it’s two seconds, sometimes more.

I imagine that the person in charge of the networking is an elementary school dropout or lower.

### 1/5 — No internet at all

*2023-06-20*

This robot is not designed for any kind of router or modem. What ridiculous is its solution of not connecting to the internet is to prepare 2 cell phones and use hotspot. If it’s not linked to the internet it is just an ordinary vacuum.

### 1/5 — Good mopping, trash app

*2023-06-07*

The robot worked well but the app is always fail to send command. Reset the robot and cannot map my house. The robot become useless. What my $1k.

### 1/5 — Please fix this app!

*2023-04-29*

Please fix the WiFi connectivity issues with this app. Will not connect or stay connected. Freo sitting right beside of it has NO issues but this T10 is useless with this app. Robot is good, App is garbage!

### 1/5 — Consistently can’t find home.

*2023-04-28*

It worked well for about 2 days - is now, virtually useless. Can’t find its way home. Doesn’t appear to have a firmware upgrade. Mapped 3 times - only a month old.
Fix or money back please.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2023-01-22*

Keep disconnected and robot keep stuck somewhere

### 1/5 — App won’t connect to network

*2022-12-31, version 1.3.1*

In trying to setup the app, I receive a “network connection failed” voice, error code 1003, repeatedly. I’ve followed all the instructions available on the app, in the instruction manual, and available via online videos. All are slightly different, too. I have a Deco M5 mesh network that I set to 2.4G only and am trying to connect through an iPhone SE 2nd generation (2020) model. Real bummer this doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Can't get security code

*2022-12-06*

Tried several times to get the security code through email but no luck. Customer service is not available either. This app is a waste of time

### 1/5 — Is this a joke - new app only for new robot

*2022-11-27*

First I want to start off by saying the hardware is great, but the software is terrible. The app does not have basic features that every budget robot has like zone cleanup, spot cleaning and so on. The biggest joke here is they released a new robot, instead of improving this app and using one for both they created a new app and only updating and adding features to that app. I would avoid this robot, as it is a great package and quality hardware, for the same price point you can get a better one where the developers care and update the product software. When you spend $1,000+ you hope it continues to get software improvements.

### 1/5 — I’d give it negative stars if I could.

*2022-10-11, version 1.3.1*

Im telling you this app is ridiculous, im just shocked such an expensive machine would have such an awful app, there’s no way to separate rooms if it’s an open floor plan, the machine isn’t very intuitive at all because It needs the app to run in the app is a piece of crap. Unfortunately the machine is not a keeper for me just due to this. So sad. I had high hopes for it

### 1/5 — Amazing robot, terrible app

*2022-09-18, version 1.2.1*

Consider making the app more native and intuitive. There no need for the stupid custom tabs at the bottom when basic things like translations and reliable functionality are all over the place. The robot is fantastic, now fix the UI/UX and reliability of the app.

### 1/5 — It lost my account

*2022-09-15*

It took a lot of work to connect it n get it to work but afterwards it worked fine for a few months. One day I opened the app to try and spot clean the kitchen and discovered the app lost my account setting and everything. It basically needed me to re-add the robot, connect, and map my house again! Who has the time for that?!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Piece of Shi+

*2026-07-09, version 1.3.3*

Purchased 3 years. From day 1 it took a ridiculous amount of time to connect to WiFi. There have been no new app updates in a long time and the robot is nothing more than a dust collector that sits in a corner and causes me to resent it more and more every day. Furious to have spent well over $1000 and the product to be completely unusable. Disgraceful company for allowing developers to do absolutely nothing to resolve all of the complaints!!

### 1/5 — Narwhal has no integrity

*2025-07-13*

I could never trust this company & buy any of their robot vacuums ever again. I purchased their T10 robot a few weeks before I moved to a different state, so I couldn’t set up & test it immediately. When I finally settled & tried setting up my T10 & App - the Robot does not map & the app is not supported. Then I learned that they no longer support the Robot or the T10 app. I spent A LOT OF MONEY! I was past the return period. If a company simply abandons previous vacuums for new ones, I can’t buy anything from them. They are not trustworthy.

### 1/5 — Don’t buy their product seriously

*2025-01-24*

Their software and app update/support drops off shortly after they release a new flagship product (yearly). When your product starts to act up, there isn’t much you can do and warranty is over. Look at this app with its very basic ui and unstable connections. It hasn’t been updated in 2 years.

### 1/5 — Do not buy

*2024-10-20*

Do not buy this robot the pairing will work with 2.4 and then randomly stop. I have tried contacting them after using this for over a year but now they want me to pay extra cause the device stopped working one day. I only have roughly 50 cycles on my vacuum

### 1/5 — Device is great, BUT HORRIBLE APP

*2024-03-04*

This is what I find this app is lacking:
1. Ability to edit map, edit divisions among rooms, and adding names! No dinning room, no hallway, no family, only master and guess room…and on top of that, no way to creat a custom room name.
2. You can see (in the poor map) where the device is cleaning, but once it finished, there is no way to see the work done in the map.
3. Even though it makes some (poor) room divisions, when you want it to clean only certain rooms, the thing ignores the limits between rooms and goes pass it. Don’t know what’s the point in naming the rooms it the device will go and clean everywhere anyway.

Honestly, the T10 is great, but the app is so bad you can’t really make it work as it’s supposed to. Really sad.

### 1/5 — Regret this purchase

*2024-01-03*

Im good with tech. This is a terribly unreliable app

### 1/5 — Unable to connect

*2023-11-05*

App is seriously buggy, wont connect to the wifi, even when it’s on 2.5ghz and the help screen is blank

Very port support

### 1/5 — God awful

*2023-10-29*

Don’t buy robot buy Roborock instead This this thing will drive you crazy

### 1/5 — Unreliable and annoying

*2023-10-18*

Keeps losing connectivity to the wifi to where have to do a hard reset. The hard reset requires pushing down on the buttons long enough to make it reset. Sometimes it’s two seconds, sometimes more. Obviously the Chinese Communist Party is failing if this is acceptable. The CCP should locate whoever is responsible for the networking software in this machine and apply appropriate punishment for embarrassing the CCP and all of China.

### 1/5 — Not worth the money

*2023-09-28*

Got it to connect to the LAN once and that was it. Never able to connect again.😵‍💫

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2024-05-18*

App and vacuum work perfectly without any issues, would recommend.

### 5/5 — Works fine

*2024-04-08*

Works 100% fine, can control the robot from the app it’s great

### 5/5 — Update for some bugs

*2022-08-01*

App became better and better. If can update regards rename room, and improve divide room would be better.

### 5/5 — Don’t Believe All Negative Reviews

*2022-02-23, version 1.1.3*

App works fine! Reviews almost changed my opinion. Machine does it job “Cinderella” cleans the floors and mops as we expected! Great product!

### 4/5 — Terrific Mop | Useable App

*2023-02-26*

Robots mopping and navigation abilities are amazing. The app is usable, but not good. Using the app I have scheduled cleaning, mapped our house, started, paused and stopped cleaning and had it clean its mops in the base station using the app, both from home and away. The app suffers from 2 User Interface (UI) issues.

Issue 1: Use of the app is straightforward, until it is not. It is nothing that can not be overcome, but a little experimenting might be required.

Issue 2: The UI sometimes does not update after a selection or save is made. However, I find that if you go out of the screen and then come back you’ll find that it did accept your changes and they will be displayed.

### 4/5 — Great robot, decent app

*2021-07-13*

Maybe the app has improved lately, but I don’t get all the hate. I think the app is doing all that it needs to. However, it does need some UX refinements, especially messages in English. The layout isn’t the most intuitive either. Maps interface is a little clunky. It’s definitely not as nice as iRobot’s app but it has some great features. I love the live robot tracking feature. All in all a good app.

Docking one star for lack of scheduling. Also narwal needs to open up its api so we can run automations.

### 3/5 — Request App Modification/Improvement

*2024-04-12*

The app has been steadily declining. It worked well when first installed two years ago. However, the app name has changed from Narwhal, which isn’t fitting. This made it difficult to locate the app. I had to sift through all of my apps because the name Narwhal was no longer the name. In addition, the completion cannot be watched anymore. The app used to let me view the area where it has completed its job, but in the past couple of months it will not show it’s progress while completing task. If this is not fixed, I will be contacting corporate. I am that type of person.

### 3/5 — App needs some work

*2023-08-09*

The robot is fantastic. My few issues are the following:
1. Although the app let you add dividers to the map, you have limited pre set names for the rooms, so you can’t really customize it to you own house design.
2. I can’t find a way to tell my T10 to mop just specific rooms.
3. It would be nice, as my room a does, to see the map with the area that was cleaned on the past sessions.
4. I had a had time getting the robot to connect to my wifi the first time. Once it did, it’s been working well for 2 months now.

### 3/5 — Some bugs

*2022-12-04*

The mop itself is does a good job through the house and mapping on the app is accurate. The spot cleaning hasn’t worked on previous versions however the remote commands work unlike my robot vacuums app. The new update kicked me out of the app and when I try to log back in it says I do not have an account. As other users have said, starting up the robot with the wifi is a huge pain and takes a long time.

### 3/5 — Better, but far from great

*2022-09-26, version 1.3.1*

Best robot mop on the market.

Worst app for a robot cleaner.

The wording in the app is definitely chinglesh and as others have said, it’s a bit condescending in some areas. I hope the app continues to improve and that they have an actual Native speaker localize their app, or offer up a way for community members to offer up localization.

Wifi setup is terrible. They fixed the worse flaw with this latest update. It will actually connect to the mop and send the information to the mop. But the setup process will say that it failed even though it hasn’t.

My plea to the manufacturer: in your new product please make sure that it can connect to a 5Ghz network or to a dual band network even if all the robot uses is the 2.4Ghz band.
