## What is Taba Finance?

Taba Finance helps you split group expenses fairly and keep everyone on the same page. Create groups for roommates, trips, clubs, or any shared budget; import an existing Splitwise CSV group; add members; and log expenses with flexible splits — equal shares, exact amounts, or percentages. A dedicated Quick Add tab and a home-screen widget make logging a new expense a one-tap action. Balances update automatically so you always know who owes whom. An account is required: Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In powers secure access and cloud sync via Firebase Firestore.

Invite people with a shareable link (Associated Domains deep links resolve invite codes), post expenses, review an activity feed of what changed, and export any group's ledger to CSV from its menu. Moving from Splitwise? Export a Splitwise group spreadsheet on the web, import the CSV in Taba Finance, review the rows, and continue in a new Taba Finance group without retyping everything. Skip the typing with Scan Receipt — the camera or your photo library itemizes a bill automatically, dropping each line item, tax, and tip into the expense form. Flip on Itemized mode to assign specific line items to specific people, and let on-device smart categorization suggest the right category as you type (it learns from your history and never leaves the device). Set any expense to repeat weekly, biweekly, or monthly and Taba Finance materializes the next occurrence automatically. Mix currencies inside a single group — each expense stores its own currency, and balances roll up in your preferred default using daily FX rates. When it's time to settle, tap Settle Up to open Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Wise, or Interac via deep links, and flip on debt simplification to minimize the number of payments needed to zero everyone out. Free users get 1 receipt scan per month; upgrade to Taba Finance Pro (monthly or annual, 7-day free trial) for unlimited scans plus future premium features. Taba Finance is free with banner ads; a one-time Remove Ads purchase hides banners permanently.

Group and expense data syncs to your Firebase-backed account so you can pick up where you left off on a new device. Names appear in groups for collaboration; amounts are stored to calculate balances — both are used for core app functionality. Splitwise CSV imports read the selected spreadsheet to create Taba Finance members, expenses, and payments; the resulting group data is stored, not the original CSV attachment. Receipt scanning is privacy-first: photos are captured and OCR'd entirely on your device via Apple VisionKit and never leave your phone. Only the extracted text is sent to our server for AI structuring into line items; the text is used for the response and is not retained. An anonymous per-install UUID plus the current UTC-month scan count is stored in Firestore to enforce the free-tier cap; it is not linked to your Firebase account. Product usage analytics (PostHog) and diagnostics are collected in aggregate; see the privacy policy for details. Google AdMob may collect advertising-related data as described in its bundled privacy manifest; Taba Finance asks for App Tracking Transparency so ads can be personalized, and fully supports declining. In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by StoreKit; Apple holds payment data for Remove Ads and Taba Finance Pro. Taba Finance is an independent product and is not affiliated with Splitwise, Tricount, Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Wise, or Interac.
