## What is Tabata Ticker?

Tabata Ticker is a minimal timer for the classic Tabata workout: 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest, 8 rounds.

Open the app, press Start, and train. The countdown stays large and readable so you can keep moving without squinting at your screen or fiddling with settings.

Built for quick, focused intervals:
- Classic 4-minute Tabata format
- Build your own Tabata format
- Easy to read and understand Work and Rest screens
- Big countdown timer
- Sound cues near the end of each interval
- Apple Watch companion controls
- Watch haptics for interval cues
- iPhone and iPad support

Tabata Ticker keeps the workout simple on purpose. No account, no complicated setup, no custom plan builder. Just the interval format you came for, ready when you are.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-07-31

New
• Workouts keep running when your screen is off or you switch apps — the cues keep coming.
• Pause, resume, or end a workout straight from the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
• Start, pause, resume, and end with Siri — or from the Shortcuts app and the Action Button.
• Name your presets, then ask Siri to start one: "Start my Sprints workout."
• Pick a preset on Apple Watch without reaching for your phone.
• Your music keeps playing. Cues briefly dip the volume instead of stopping it.
• Settings and the preset editor now follow your text size.

Fixed
• The Live Activity countdown ticks every second instead of jumping between rounds.
• The preset selector and the pause button were washed out and hard to read.
• Opening the app no longer stops whatever you were listening to.
