### 3/5 — Good app, it can be greater

*2022-03-18*

I like the app a lot. However, an update with a better variety of music in the Tab store would be great!

### 2/5 — Bug fix needed

*2020-04-29, version 2.0.9*

Generally have loved this app but have been having a problem when I go to download some tab from a tab website. As soon as I land on a website the app randomly gives me a “Successfully downloaded and installed message” labeling this new ‘tab’ f_##. When I then go to open this new tab it’s gibberish. Have uninstalled and reinstalled and the problem remains. This will become a deal breaker and will result in me no longer using this app and no longer recommending it. Bug fix please.

### 4/5 — Don't let this classic become abandonware!

*2020-01-30, version 2.0.9*

This is still a fantastic app, but the browser is now so out of date that the download function has become unusable, which leaves all its other wonderful functionality out of reach for new users because they can't download the files in the first place. I hope this isn't the end of the road for an app that has never been equalled in its support for different kinds of static and playable tab files.

### 2/5 — okay but “download tabs” is broken

*2018-09-11, version 2.0.9*

This app has potential to be really good, BUT, ...

The tab store is very limited and quite expensive compared to other options.

The “download tabs” via web browser function is broken. When Googling it will download non-existant tabs, named f_1, f_2, …. If I try to download a Guitar Pro tab from my DropBox, TabToolKit refuses to do it. If you try to download a Guitar Pro tab from ulimate-guitar.com it works fine as long as you don’t have the Ultimate Guitar app installed. If installed, the browser will open that app rather than giving the file to TabToolKit. The “download tabs” feature also has some annoying user interface design warts, even when it does work.

TabToolKit would be a great app if only I could easily get tabs into it.

### 3/5 — New bug in latest update

*2017-08-06, version 2.0.7*

I appreciate that there has finally been an update. Unfortunately there was a new major bug introduced with this version.

The bug is when you open up a tab and then exit the tab you are brought back to the top of the list of all of your tabs. In the past when you exit out of the tab you would be in the same position in your list of tabs that you were before. This is a big inconvenience when you have a lot of tabs and would like to maintain the same position in your tabs list that you were in when you enter the tab.

Please fix this bug.

Also. Will you be updating to 64 bit? If not there is no way to use this app in iOS 11. Please update it. Thank you.

### 2/5 — Sound is irritating

*2017-04-24*

Really only works if you purchase tab from ta toolkit. Poor selection of available songs. You can down load tab from the internet how ever it is hard to do and why bother? Just use your web browser to view it

### 4/5 — Decent App

*2017-01-01*

Been using the app for a few years and it's served my purpose! However the app could be improved by adding an adjustable scrolling function for the music!

### 1/5 — Waste of money!

*2016-10-14*

They make you spend 3.99 to find out it doesn't come with any tabs worth the money. Hard to navigate and there aren't many tabs to offer.

### 2/5 — Love the app, hate the browser

*2016-08-17, version 2.0.8*

I've used this app for years and, great as it is, the browser just gets slower and slower... And slower... And slower...

But the ability to play guitar pro files means that it keeps its place on my iPad.

### 1/5 — Paid for tabs that can't be downloaded

*2016-07-30, version 2.0.8*

This past May (2016) I paid for tabs, but they would not download. I wrote to Agile and they responded by saying that the app will be updated. And it was, a month later. I still can not download the tabs I paid for. I have been trying repeatedly to resolve this issue. They do not respond to my emails. Very frustrating.

### 1/5 — Don't download

*2016-07-17, version 2.0.8*

Company out of business doesn't respond to tech support never gets updated. Used to be the best

### 1/5 — ripoff, stay away

*2016-07-12, version 2.0.8*

Tried to buy New Slang in the tab store. They charged me, but it won't download. Nobody will respond to my support requests. Total ripoff, stay away.

### 3/5 — Great for what it is

*2016-05-28, version 2.0.7*

This app needs to be updated badly. The download browser is slow, unresponsive and glitchy. Iphone 6 support needs to be added badly. However I found that the local ip download method works incredibly well and the actual tab viewer works amazingly. Some editing features would be a nice addition as well

### 1/5 — At one time this was the best, not anymore

*2016-05-15, version 2.0.7*

When iOS devices first hit the scene several years ago this app was hands down the best way to access tabs on them. It has now become completely unusable mostly because both this app and the ultimate-guitar website have effectively blocked content sharing with each other. Nothing good lasts…

### 1/5 — What happened??!

*2016-03-11, version 2.0.7*

This used to be the best tab and notation app period. Now the browser feature to download new tabs appears to be completely buggy and laggy like so many others are reporting. If they get this fixed this is an easy 5 star app. For my purposes it's now unusable because I can't add new tabs for songs I need to learn or help teach. I was super bummed out that this started all of the sudden.

### 1/5 — Still selling app but developer(s) not supporting fixing any reported bugs

*2025-02-05, version 2.0.9*

Greetings. Tab toolkit is a very good app and it still works but it needs some love and attention. There has been NO development on this app for years (and years). The interface needs to be updated to current iOS not iOS 7 or whenever the last time you worked on it. This app could be WAY better if you updated the interface and added a few more features. Searching could be better and there should be some way to make and save “Playlists”. It is nice to have filters for Song Name, Songs by Artist, Browse Artists, Recently Added and Favorites but in this day and age that is not enough. If user needs to create multiple playlists or collections they should easily be able to. If you update the app with new features and modernize the UI I would gladly pay for a (one time purchase) upgrade. Just because your app still compiles and people still purchase it doesn’t mean you should not keep it up to date and modern. I am begging you to please update this app. Even with its age I believe it is better than Guitar Pro … but it doesn’t compare to Guitar Pro’s more modern display. Guitar Pro lacks ability to easily filter songs (Name, Artist, Favs, etc). I believe you would get a lot of people upgrading or purchase the app if you took some time to update it. this app.

### 1/5 — Please update

*2024-10-27, version 2.0.9*

Please update its been 8 years
Is it safe to login?

### 1/5 — Likely an abandonware

*2024-08-07, version 2.0.9*

Developer likely abandoned this app. Last update 7 years ago!

### 1/5 — Time for an update!

*2022-03-04*

This is so sad. This was my go to tab app since it was first published. Now there are too many bugs and is not worth my patience. Stay away from buying this app unless they update it some time soon!!

### 1/5 — hasn't been updated in years

*2022-01-27*

Does not work with new versions of iOS and hasn't been updated in years. DO NOT BUY

### 1/5 — Still selling app but developer(s) not supporting fixing any reported bugs

*2021-06-28, version 2.0.9*

Have loved this app am am extremely disappointed that the developer(s) don’t feel it is worth maintaining it (look and feel changes), and adding some cloud sync option so when there is a problem the user does not loose the 1000’s of song they have entered. Reported a huge bug in June 2021 and developer did not even have the courtesy to get back to me. I like this app better than the Guitar Pro iOS app but seems I might have to migrate to that app even though it is not as good because currently my TabToolkit app is not usable because it crashed and now it only comes up unside down so is unusable on an iPad with a keyboard. To fix problem I probably have to delete app and re-download it. Problem is I will loose the 1000 songs I have imported. Not sure how to recreate all the files and then each song that has a Ukulele as an instrument needs to be manually edited after download because Ukulele comes in as the wrong instrument (Spinosa). If developer reads this please consider maintaining this app.

### 1/5 — This app doesn’t work on iPhone X

*2021-02-19, version 2.0.9*

Stunned that’s it’s even in the App Store - it won’t even open on my iPhone and repeated messages to the developer on their website have just been ignored. Just wish I could give it 0 stars

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2021-02-13*

This app is completely unnecessary. The website claims that it will view text tab file formats. The only thing it does is display the text file as a *text file*. You probably already have many ways of doing this, and there are *many* other apps for reading rich formats. If you’re trying to find a good app for viewing text tab files on your iPad or iPhone, look elsewhere.

### 1/5 — Unsupported

*2018-12-04*

It looks like the app is no longer supported and hasn’t been updated in years. It’s basically useless now.

### 1/5 — Severly outdated app

*2018-10-11*

App is outdated so i removed my previous review since i believe it may lead to buyers purchase the app that may not work properly on their current version of ios due to it not being optimized.

### 5/5 — Finally found what I have been looking for in an app!

*2018-03-14*

Finally, I have been in search of an app that could give me what I wanted and I have found the one. You guys have done a great job in giving us the features and simplicity that make an app a success in my book. I have been using a program on my pc but always wanted to something that offered me more and was portable; phone and iPad. I hope others can benefit from this and help their practices. Thanks for your hard work and great app!!

### 5/5 — WAS Disappointed

*2017-03-06*

How do I get the tab I paid for or get my money back?
I had created an account during my first tab purchase and while my iTunes was charged the tab did not appear in tab toolkit.
Wrote to support and they fixed the problem fast. Thanks Andrey.

### 5/5 — Best tab app

*2016-10-27*

Been using this app on my iPad for years. Don't know what I'd do without it

### 5/5 — Fantastic, Utterly Brilliant!

*2016-06-29, version 2.0.8*

Thanks for the update, was worried this app had been forgotten. Some additions to the Tab Store would be great, but this is a fantastic app!

### 5/5 — Update on earlier review

*2016-06-28, version 2.0.8*

Along with minor bug fixes the display is now also optimized for iPhone 6. It was already great on the iPad. Thx Agile. This is by far the best guitar tab app out there.

### 5/5 — Best

*2015-11-08, version 2.0.7*

Best 10$ I've ever spent and if your complaining about having problems using the built in browser just use Safari ( just like you normally would) and go to download the tablature file and it will pop up and say "open in tab toolkit" and then works just like normal or using the old built in browser. Seriously I have no problems using it that way at all. Try it guys!!

### 5/5 — One Problem

*2015-09-21, version 2.0.7*

I absolutely love this app. I've had it since about 7th grade and I'm now in my junior year in high school. The only problem I am reporting is that the screen on TTK will not fit my entire screen on the new IOS 9. (I play mostly technical death metal, and need all 27 frets)

### 5/5 — Best

*2015-07-20, version 2.0.7*

Ability to import own tabs in from of and no subscription is a win win

### 5/5 — Pretty cool app so far

*2015-05-31, version 2.0.7*

I have guitar pro 6 on my desktop, and also have the guitar pro app, which I gave a positive review.

This app, tabtoolkit is a pretty nice app. It's a player. It has its own tab store, but it will also play any of my guitar pro files. I load them in via Dropbox. Compared to the guitar pro app it holds up quite nicely, and has more realistic sounds overall than the guitar pro app. It also looks nicer.

One of the weaknesses I've found is with tremolo strumming. It "ignores" it, and just plays the notes regularly.

The company itself must be pretty busy, I wrote with a question about tabtoolkit working with the iRig HD and didn't get a response.

But so far so good. I hope they fix the tremolo strumming on both single notes and chords.

One nice feature is with the drum tracks, you can watch the drum kit as its being played. Also, I love the slow down "wheel" 1 percent increments. A very useful feature.

### 5/5 — This app is the best!!

*2015-04-02, version 2.0.7*

I've been using this app for a few years now and I still love it!!!! For all the negative reviews saying it doesn't have enough songs, they don't know how to use this app. There is an in-app web browser and you can download whatever tabs you want. I personally download apps from the website ultimate-guitar and it works perfectly!
