## What is Tacet?

Tacet turns exercise into screen time. Do pushups, squats, pullups, jumping jacks, situps, plank, or walk — and earn minutes to use your favorite apps. When your time runs out, apps lock again until you move.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Choose which apps to lock behind exercise
2. Pick an exercise — pushups, squats, pullups, jumping jacks, situps, plank, or steps
3. Complete reps or steps to earn screen time
4. Start your session when you're ready — a Live Activity counts down your remaining minutes
5. When time runs out, apps lock again. Earn more to keep going.

Your earned time resets daily. No banking across days. Every morning is a clean slate.

CAMERA-COUNTED REPS

Prop your phone up. The front camera uses on-device pose estimation to count your reps in real time. No cloud processing. No video saved. No data leaves your phone.

Supports pushups, squats, pullups, jumping jacks, situps, and plank — each with a dedicated detection model and anti-cheat filtering. If you did the rep, it counts. If you didn't, it won't.

STEPS

Don't want to set up a camera? Walk. Steps are counted by your phone's motion sensor. Put it in your pocket and go. 500 steps at default settings earns about 5 minutes.

DAILY AND WEEKLY CHALLENGES

A new challenge every day: "Do 30 squats in under 2 minutes" or "Complete 3 exercise sessions before noon." Hit the target, earn bonus minutes. Weekly challenges add variety and keep it interesting.

Challenges rotate from a pool of 20+ templates. No repetition within 7 days. Daily streaks and milestone badges keep you moving.

BLOCKING THAT ACTUALLY WORKS

Tacet uses Apple's FamilyControls framework — the same system parents use for Screen Time restrictions. No VPN. No workarounds. When an app is locked, it's locked.

The #1 complaint across every exercise-gated app on the App Store: blocking that breaks, crashes, or can be bypassed. Tacet doesn't use hacks or VPNs. It uses the framework Apple built for this purpose.

SESSION MODE

You control when your earned time starts. Earn 30 minutes of screen time, then tap Start when you're ready. A Live Activity on your Dynamic Island and Lock Screen shows your countdown. Tap Stop when you're done — remaining time is saved until your daily reset.

If you forget to stop, a failsafe re-locks your apps when your balance hits zero.

STATS

See exactly where your time went. Earned vs. consumed vs. remaining. Which blocked apps used the most time. Exercise breakdown by type. 7-day and 90-day trends.

NO DARK PATTERNS

No cascading discount popups. No data harvesting. No ads. No AI-generated motivational quotes. One subscription, 7-day free trial, cancel anytime.

PRICING

Tacet is $9.99/month or $39.99/year, with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan. All 7 exercise types, steps, weekly challenges, 90-day stats, custom rep-to-time ratios. Cancel anytime.

PRIVACY

All data stays on your device. No accounts. No servers. No analytics tracking which apps you use. Camera processing happens entirely on-device — no video is recorded or transmitted.

WHY TACET

We analyzed 2,300+ App Store reviews across Pushscroll, PushUp Time, Opal, one sec, and ScreenZen. The pattern is clear: broken blocking, aggressive paywalls, and rep detection that misses reps.

Tacet is built to fix all three.
